How'd the dyno go?
My baby "Cayenne/Pepper" got dressed and rolled out into the sun and on in to downtown Philly and to Philly Dyno for a tune. Wow... besides dodging every friggin pothole in town we made it. Was nice to see the car outdoor for the first time since December 6th. Was proud of her... First base pull, no-tune, she hit 230 rwhp no prob, 7lbs of boost. second pull she made 276, third final she made 281 but we stopped because she crept up to 17lbs, shut her down at 5000 rpm. We're confident she can easily handle 17lbs boost but we were concerned the waste gate wasn't openning when it was suppose. Got a few more bugs to work out, switching out the SARD FPR for a fully adjustable Aeromotive unit. The power steeing pump is toast, and we re-adjusted the waste gate repalce the spring and switched vacuum port. So... here she is ... To all you NICOnauts... Thanx for all your support... Back to the Dyno tomorrow

Thanks all... The car went to the dyno yesterday for the final tune (for now, until I break her in a bit), and we made 338 rwhp at 5000 rpm 14lbs. The AEM tru-boost Gauge/Meter was spiking so we by-bassed the AEM unit and limit the boost to the 5lbs Turbonetics waste gate spring. So now she easily makes 231 rwhp @ 5lbs 5200 rpm, not too bad...she revs so smooth through every gear and just wants to go...love it! I post the dyno and more pictures later.

Just want to thank you all again for your support and enthusiam, with special thanks to Mike and Willi at JDM Motorsportz, Eric at Philly Dyno, Beezer at The Engine Shop, all the Jose's at Jose & Sons for the beautiful paint, AMS for the suppling many of the internals, Extreme PSI for being so close... WD for your constant support...

I just read all three pages of this build and i have to say that this is the best build i have read about. No corners cut, built motor done right, beautiful paint job......Sir i bow down to you and your paitiance

She looks great. Hope you get your e-manage and boost controller problems worked out. I say she could put down 300+hp easily as a daily as long as the turbo can put it out (didnt see what size it was)...

Great build

Haha... that's pretty funny and a nice compliment, thanks... She's fun to drive, although the lo boost setting isn't going to be satisfactory for very long... haha She's so needy... never ends...

oh man she is sooo hott. Are you planning on getting new wheels? or are you doing wheel spacers? 5mm in the front 15-20mm in the rear should do it.

I thought I'd resurrect this thread and give you all an update. After I'd say about 2k miles or so, and a couple fo car shows, I've had pull the car off the street. After a brief trip to Maryland, on the return to Philly the car overheated. It's possible I blew a head gasket. The engine was blowing tons of white blue smoke. The car's in the garage, we've pulled the motor and it's about to go back to the Jeff at the "Engine Shop" for ful diagnostic. Hopefully the motor's all good and no major damage to block or head. The car has been a absolute kick to drive and has left me wanting for more... here's a couple of recent pics... yes I switched out the wheels to 18" TSW's Norgano's.

Is it too late for your car to make the NICO calendar?

BTW, definitely hope there is no significant damage. This was a great build and I'd hate to see it so short lived...

Those rims are SO much better looking. I hated the other ones. With all the money you have in that thing how the hell did you overheat it? Before you do anything else, buy a full set of gauges with warning lights. That way you don't have to worry about anything.

Hopefully its just a headgasket. Old iron blocks aren't "to bad" to have overheated. They don't warp like the Honda's etc.

Best of luck fixing her up bro.

I'm hoping for the best, I know the block still has good compression. Initial visual inspection of the rods and crank look good. The whole timing assembly gonna have to be replaced, it was making a hella racket and we found bit and pieces of the stuff in the oil pan. By the way the timing gears and tensioners were NOT Nissan oem, so let that also be a lesson, beware the cheap knock off's. You get what you pay for...

if you had fitment issues with the motor mounts it is because in these pictures they are upside down. I can believe i didnt notice it earlier. Hey if it works it works.
