Thought I'd add a few new pics, I've run into a few problems which are holding me up on several fronts. I got rear ended last week so car is at the body shop waiting for appraiser to show up. Could be bad I don't know they may want to total it I don't know yet. My shop is confident thay can correct it but we'll see. Other issue is the IAP manifold and down pipe. Some fitment issues that may not be resolved.

Here's how the motor looks now, partly dressed.

Thought I'd update this thread. The body shop has fixed the damage from the accident and done most of the body work (removed misc, dents scratchs etc.). We pulled the old KA, and got the engine bay ready to be degreased and prepped for painting. It's so close I can taste it. The car will sport a new tone paint job, ruby red on the bottom and a custom pearl carbon gray on the top.

A preview of the finished car... ala photoshop

With any luck, by the end of next week the car may be painted. That's if the rear bumber gets there. Thank you all for your support. The following week I'll drop the KA-T in and keep my fingers crossed, then off to the dyno for final tuning... haha... a lifetime away still.

Thought I'd bring this thread back to life as my car finally got paint applied to it and I'm about ready to drop in the KA-T motor. Just spent a bundle on injectors, a bunch of AN fittings, wastegate flange, and AEM's wide band and tru-tubo boost gauges.

The car has a two tone paint job in 2007 Nissan colors "Sonoma Sunset" and "Polished Garnite" I forgot the paint codes but I think the red is A10 brain dead on the granite...

Here's a few pics to hold you over...

Car in the booth, base coat applied...

Master Painter Jose Torre Sr. of J&Sons applies the 2nd base coat

Tada!... you can see the two tone color scheme emerge...

Yes, the inner door sills are painted to match, looks like candy! Jose applies 1st clear coat.

The engine bay painted "Polished Granite"

Thanks WD, you've been a very kind supporter... We really didn't want to f-up the newly painted engine bay so this really was the best way, a lot easier too. Went in like in fifteen minutes, took a lot more time getting everything else to fit properly, i.e. motor mounting brackets needed to modified to accommodate the JGS billet mounts, and messing with the clutch to get it line right with the lightened flywheel.

I don't blame you one bit. I always regret not having fender skirts. Everytime I end up with a new scratch or dent...

I want to hear your stories of paranoia when you go to park that car in a parking lot...lol. After I got my car painted, I parked SO far away from everything. I witnessed a door ding in progress one time...not even my car, but I was still irate. The chick flung the door of her sh1t box open and smashed this sweet Camaro.

I stopped by and left her plate number on a card and put it on his windshield.

my gosh I have the worlds biggest hard-on from this build. I must see dyno numbers and more pictures of this hott as hell 2 tone.. Sonoma Sunset is by far my favorite color Nissan currently produces and always wanted two tone with a gray (you nailed it). Are you pinstriping the two tone?

Just a quick update... since the car is finally out of the body shop thought I'd add a few teaser shots. Now I can get on to the business of getting this Biatch fired up. Here's a couple shots of the freshly painted body.

That's my man Will doing his thing ...

I'm really diggin this Nissan "Polished Granite" color, love how the color shifts depending on the angle and lighting you see it in.

Motor getting prepped...

Getting all the wires sorted so we can tuck them under the mani and around the back of the motor for that nice clean look in the front

We'll try to get all the wiring done tomorrow and the IC piping on Monday. Since I'm keeping the AC, I'm trying to figure out best route for the hot side pipes to take. I wanted to run it straight down to a 90 and then into the slot in the side, but that doesn't appear to be in the cards... stay tuned... this thing is gonna get fired up next week!
