***UPDATE***

Im bored and probably had a little to much to drink during the final four so i will post an update. Here are the 1/4 mile times from friday night. I would highly recommend anyone to go to your local track and try it no matter how slow your car is, its a blast.

My number was 951 i ran a 13.727 TWICE and then a 13.547 but i need practice still and some cheater slicks. I had the rear tire pressure down to 15 psi and was still spinning in 1st and second.

When i first put on the Megan Track Series suspension i was pissed. The car was bouncy as hell and felt like it was riding on cut springs and blown shocks. Thankfully i was patient and drove it for a few days and now i have no complaints. The springs settled and the ride is great. Zero body roll and they can go as low as you would want them. i would not recommend these for DD use (very rough even on a moderate setting) but perfect for what i use them for.

Here are some pics of what it looks like now that everything has settled and i lowered the front another 3/4 inch.

This one makes me nervous just looking at it. I have scraped that exhaust a few times since i did this. The guys that DD these things like this i commend you.

The next thing i will be doing is ordering some Rucas and some RAS (rocker arm stoppers). Other than that the project is pretty much out of money till winter. I feel like i got alot done and am very happy with the result. I will be doing something about the radio spot let me know if you have any suggestions. Here are a few pics of the interior nothing special.

Definitely next weekends project.

Here are some pics my buddy brians 240. It was like 240 heaven that night haha. We were installing his blitz boost controller and finishing some other stuff up.

Well really thats probably about it until the winter when I take it all apart and put a clutch, lightweight flywheel, aluminum driveshaft, and install the greddy intake manifold i picked up the other day. Hopefully rims and tires will be in the budget too. The RUCAs and RASs will be installed as soon as they come in but other than that this project is LITERALLY out of money haha. I am mainly going to be going to some autocross events and going to edgewater once a month and hopefully checking out some drift events but unfortunatly they made it so you have to have a cage at the one track around here so oh well.

Once you start getting in the high twelve/low 13 area it doesnt really matter how much power or how "fast" your car is. Unless you have a good pair of cheater slicks your car isnt gonna go much faster than that. Im gonna pick up some nitto NT555Rs before i go back to see how much it improves the time

Also the welded diff was a HUGE help. There was a guy there with my EXACT setup and he couldnt get below 14.3. Open diffs suck. If i can break 12 i am starting a 12 second kouki thread. Are you a member?

no i am nowhere close to a member. boohoo lol

are you heating up your tires before you launch? when my kouki was going i would heat up my 235's with a 8-10 sec burnout then launch at the limiter. and it would bite. also it was on street tires.

how are you liking the coilovers?

I i did a burn out but the Khumo Ectstas still spin. If i take off at full limiter (which i would never do cause the thought of it scares me plus the SR has a tendency to float,) My car would go nowhere. I launched at 4K 3.5K and 3K and 3K seemed to be the best.

The megans are good. Stiff and have no body roll. i will let you know this winter if i decide to go another route.

the car would have to be daily driven cuz a 13 sec track car is nothin special, bone stock evo's will do that lol

Yes but you must also keep in mind that the evo is gonna win the 60 foot race everytime by almost 5 tenths assuming the kouki has a welded diff or lsd. If it doesnt its not even close. So a 4 wheel drive evo runs the quarter mile on average between 13.7-13.9 therefore the kouki is more impressive running mid 13s. There are very few "inexpensive" "stock" cars that will run in the 13s.

Mine would be a daily driver but then what would my cobalt do?

Yea i have a base model cobalt and i love it. Bought it new during cash for clunkers and paid less than 10K for it and it had 3 miles and a warranty. Cant beat it. Best DD i have ever had.

I am in no way defending its speed. i didnt buy it for its performance. I bought it for a good reliable daily driver that gets 32-37 MPG. And its new.

The Cobalt SS has 260 hp and won the Road and track comparison against the EVO, WRX and the mazdaspeed3 and did it pretty handily. It runs 13.9 in the quater mile and thats stock off the showroom floor. So before you go bashing a car (Motoman) that could wax most 240s maybe we should do some research next time lol.

And yea the turbo SS is way faster than the previous Supercharged models. Anyway back to 240 talk.

I was gonna say no but decided to not look like an idiot and as a matter of fact they do. Here is a great site for looking it up...http://www.courtesyparts.com/240sx-part ... _3736.html

***UPDATE***

Nothing to exciting. Went to kil-kare speedway and saw a drift event. It was pretty cool. Some of the guys there were REALLY good. Definitely will not be using my car in a competition setting since i saw at least 2 cars bite it. Met up with cam (gords son) and saw his new KA-T S14.

Unfortunately my S14 is down. I'm pretty sure its the alternator since it will start and run but onyl after its jumped or put on the charger for a while. I will be ordering some parts tonight and hopefully it will be ready in time for carlisle but its not looking good.

Sounds like/hopefully it's the battery, they are cheeper and easier to steal than an alternator :chuckle: (or borrow)
You can always pick one up in Columbus on your way to Carlisle.
Cam says hi. Hope we can meet up sometime.
We are scrambling around, trying to get the S14 ready. Fender last night, water temp sensor tonight.

Well the alternator is good. Took it up to autozone and it passed. Thank god to cause they wanted 190 for it after the core charge. Now im really hoping its the battery or else im stumped. It will start after its put on the charger and run for a while. if i jump it it will start but unless you let both cars run for a while it will immediately die when you take the cables off. My buddy said i could try his battery out of his S13 which is sitting in my driveway so i will be doing that this weekend. I really hope this thing is ready in time for Carlisle but if i dont feel comfortable about it making the 7 hour journey then we are not gonna go.
