heh oh yeah me too lolz i love the arcade stage, I have the Type C R32 in Black. My friends all called my car cheap because its a Skyline, but they chose much faster cars than me, they have Evo 4's, Integra type R DC5, WRX Sti and they call my car cheap cause i kicked thier ***. WHen i kick their *** in time attack mode, they call my car cheesy, when i loose they still call it cheesey they're dumb *** ricers. :P

Hehe, I choose a black 180sx :D I rule at that game!!! I started at the normal mode and was like this is waay easy. So i jumped upto hard, the uphills are difficult :-/, downhills are pretty challenging, takumi kicks my ***, lol. Then the last level, I love it!!! Crazy turns everywhere.

I have yet to race any real ppl yet though. I hope to soon though!!! I need to rack up some wins. How good do the skylines do in the game?

I prefer the Midnight expressway racing game, I don't know what it's called in the states. Working through traffic at 200mph is quite a rush.

it's not extreme racer, I have that on PS2, it just won't play, need a mod chip! It has GT-Rs of every type but the top car is the old blue 240Z. I can easily beat people on it but the computer just kills me! I was runnin some young kid in an R32 with my R34, we were side by side and I yelled through the screen "should have got a 34 chump". He didn't understand until I banged 6th gear and walked away from him. He threw a tantrum and smacked the controls, got out and stomped away, I couldn't help wonsering when he was going to get his license and I would have to take him out IRL.

LOL, haha cool story. Ya that sounds like Toyko extreme racer zero for PS2 here in the states, top car is a 240Z, and you can race vipers and stuff, skylines/silvias/lancers of every type and model. They have like teams you race and stuff and beat. Iam betting its the same game, souns alot like it.

I wasnt very good at the tuning part, but thats when I didnt understand it. Now I feel like busting it out again and playing :D

From the pictures they show of it after/during the movie, it still looks like the 4age engine. They go on to mention it was specially built, 11k RPM, 241 NA HP.

Dont know if its a "real" engine

definately real... both the engine and car

Saw this at 4ag long time ago... have always dreamed of putting this in an aw11 myself someday.

Wait there's an Initial D game? None of the arcades I've been to in San Diego seem to have what you guys are talking about. We only got stuff like the Nascar races and the like. :(

I've been addicted to Initial D since the first time I saw an episode a year ago.

I still gotta respect the Trueno tho. My friend's blue one was very cool. I was bummed when he sold it :(

Turbo Injection is just screwy translation, refering to the part where Wataru (guy with turbo 4AG) takes a look at it. It has a "Group A" 1.6l 4AGE engine, the 2 Takahashi brothers talk about it, they claim it makes either 240 or 250ps at 10K+ rpms. According to the series Takumi's father, Bunta, was a professional driver and I assume he got it somehow with connections.

But when it shows the engine it doesnt look like that Formula Atlanic one, as far as the valve cover, looks more like a 101 or 111 20valve....

yeah, I don't think takumi got a formula atlantic:

This is a formula atlantic:

And I think this is the newest formula atlantic, I may be wrong though (but something like 460 hp out of 1.6 l is nice):

Now, I know takumi didn't get a regular ae101, and I don't remember anything about Group A engine (doesn't mean it's not true), so Takumi could just have gotten a heavily modified ae101 like so: except with a silver top.

so maybe it was a group A engine...don't know really.

in the show it looked like the last picture of the silver 101. the group a version is just highly race preped.

BTW- is this kinda an old thread =)

Good buy DET, its a very entertaining series, I used to d/l the episodes one by one and i was up seriously all night watching them, downing, watching, downing...etc. Until I got the DVD collection...=) There are people that dont like ID cuz they think that its a trendy drift fad or something, but you gonna remember, the series started airing in 98 in japan....in response to the popular drift style. Also, I found a good site which has a wicked collection of reasources on racing manga/anime/etc. http://www.drivingmanga.tk/

oah and it's definately fuel injected... the carburated thing must be a poor translation for induction or something because you can clearly see the injectors and the wires going to them in the real DVD

Yeah, the engine is not carburated, however the individual throttle bodies are easily mistaken by the least knowledgeable.
