That way might be easier. I used a pump and filled mine through the fill hole. Not only was my drain plug seized on, but my pump leaked, making the job a difficult, nasty mess. Good luck

I haven't messed with Nissan transmissions. On Hondas, we would use GM synchromesh fluid when they started acting up. However, Honda uses 10W30 motor oil in their transmissions, so I doubt that would work in a Nissan. I take it you're having problem with your synchros?

Whatever you decide to use, you might want to check that it won't change the lubricant weight significantly or eat up the synchros. You might try searching around some or making a thread in the tech forum. You'll probably get some good info there.

As usual another question

Im doing an exhaust project, and i was shopping for a tip today. Origianlly i wanted somethin wrapped in carbon fiber, canister like, and with a burnt tip. But what i got was a polished, canister like exhaust with a short 5zigen fireball like exhaust tip. So I wanted to know if anyone knows how they get the tips burnt like that, and if i take a torch to it, will it come out like that. Ty.

On the rainbow colored metal, it's created by electoplating the part with titanium and passing a high voltage arc across it. Other than that, I'm not sure.

I wasn't able to find any way to make the E injectors work on the DE. You'd have to change fuel rails at the very least, and from what I could tell, the manifolds were different, too. Use DE stuff on the fuel rail. It's easier than cobbling it.

i'm trying to install my nismo type a fpr and and fuel pressure gauge. i'm not seeing any detailed instructions on how to do it. i know the straight line goes to he fuel rail and the curved line goes to the return line, and that the fuel pressure gauge would go after the fuel filter and before the fpr. i just don't want to mess this up...anyone want to help me please? thanks!

OK, I beleive the NISMO FPR gets plugged directly into the stock fuel rail, as it is a stock fuel pressure regulator replacement. That means, that at the back of the motor (past cyl 4, near the firewall) you will see something coming out of the back of the fuel rail, with a vaccuum line going to it. The Nismo FPR should go there. I beleive it has to be removed every time you want to adjust it, for clearance issues.

As far as the gauge goes, you are going to want to put that after the filter, before the regulator. I don't know if you know how a FPR works, but there is a send line, and a return line. The regulator regulates the ammount of pressure, by adjusting how much fuel goes back to the tank via the return line. A lot of people think that the regulator goes on in front of the injectors (like a regulator for air), but it doesn't.

Hope that helps... feel free to ask if you need more clarification.

You'll have to get it HOT. HOT as in molten metal, and then cool it down without warping it. Medoubts it can be done.

I would take the wires and connect the to a block, then take one LONG THICK lead from that block all the way to the back.I am assuming you are moving your battery to the trunk.

I agree, you would have to like dip it in a furnace, without warping it and then dunking in like liquid nitrogen or invite some frigid girl over

Really Dumb Noob Question, Ill put my flame suit on for this:

I have 1995 240, and was wondering if the flywheel was eight bolt or six for Manual transmission. And how many teeth does it have? I am about to do a switch but I ordered a Fenco DynaPAK FW9310 and it has Eight Bolts. On there web page it says this is the one, but when i got it it did not fit my clutch kit.

Any one know? or does every one know?

Stainless steel blues very easy, take a torch to the inside of the tip and let it cool. It won't be exact but it should be close. I may try it tomorrow and post some results. I may have to use my tig gun to get closer results.

Well, I would like to think that is correct, but if you look at the install post http://www.240sx.org/links/installs/flywheel/ it shows a six Lug. The Dowel pin thing sounds feasible, but i would think they would offset them, if there where 2, just a bit so you cant put the flywheel on wrong.

Hey guys. I bought an 89 240 fastback and I've been having a couple problems with it.

Sometimes it runs just fine, but sometimes (and once it starts it will continue for the rest of the drive), when i put down the gas, the rpms will go down first and then go up. It shudders a little too.

Also, after stalling it, it will not start without a push start.

And finally, it got cold tonight and it was a complete ***** to get into first. I had to force it in with the clutch pressed hard as I could.

Any ideas? I've tried searching about all this stuff but I'm not good with cars so I don't know what I should be looking for. Thanks in advance!

sounds like you need to have you Idle control valve adjusted because it might be to low.

Could someone answer this: What does bumper extenders do? I might be looking into getting a 180sx Kouki Front bumper, but places are saying that I need bumper extenders. What I am trying to say is are they really needed?

a '63 Impala with hydraulics... no I'm not kidding

I'm not the resident "JDM TYTE" conversion guy... but my guess is that for that bumper, some lines don't match up, and the bumper extenders do whatever needs to be done to make it look good. I'd take their word for it, especially if you have heard it from multiple sources.

What is the car's tune-up history? Does it smell like fuel after it stalls? Is there any weird colored smoke coming out the exhaust when it is stuttering?

I'd seafoam the *****, replace all the plugs and wires, cap and rotor, O2 sensor, etc.

As for the gear problem... if pedal feel is normal, change your gear oil to something good (Redline) with proper viscosity. I think 75w 90 is correct, but you can also run 80w140 IIRC.

Another question, techincal this time. Sometimes when I shift it takes the clutch a moment to catch. I thought it was my clucth going, but a relative told me it was my slave cyclinder. The clutch only slips when I start on a steep hill. What do you think?

sounds like your clutch is going. Slave cylinder don't usually go like that... they just blow. Meaning... your pedal goes to the floor, and you shift without a clutch til you get home or to wherever it is you'll be swapping out a slave cylinder.

It should be pretty easy to differentiate a clutch hydraulic problem from an actual clutch problem. Hydraulics you will be able to tell through pedal feel, if the engagement point is moving all around on you, or if it gets harder and easier to push, and sometimes goes to the floor, then its a hydraulic problem. If the rpms go sky high and you don't move... its a clutch problem.

I reccommend you replace the slave at the same time as doing your clutch anyway. I also reccomend removing the dampening box of death while you are at it.
