Are the automatic transmissions pretty solid? For now, just looking for a daily... since my other car is becoming impractical and don't want another manual if I can help it.
Transmissions are pretty solid as long as they're properly maintained and not overworked (towing, excessive race-type behavior, etc.)

Those are actually just Nissan brakes from a more performance designed Nissan such as the Skyline or 300zx. They are as good as most racing brakes. The big deal with racing brakes are that both the rotors and the pads are designed to stay cooler in heavy braking. OEM pads would crumble under racing conditions and the rotors would overheat possibly causing warping. Slots, drilled holes, and better venting helps circulate air and more efficiently remove brake dust from the surface of the rotor as to prevent loss of friction. Larger calipers hold larger pads with increased area touching the surface of the rotor. (more pad, more braking) Real racing brakes are expensive, for street use, you can usually just upgrade the rotors and pads and call it a day.

and coilovers, they lower your car right?
If your car is a 91, it is a dual overhead cam (DOHC). Only the 89-90 models had single cams. As for coilovers, they do control the height of the car, but some adjustable coilovers can control spring rate and can be properly adjusted for other suspension upgrades. Coilovers are for track use, for the street, you might as well pick up a set of lowering springs and an upgraded set of shocks.
