You could try a junkyard, or go through the NICO classifieds and see if anyone is selling one, or parting a car out. You can also post a WTB thread in the classifieds.

What's it like 15 minutes from now? Your post says 2:43am

Edit: Apparently, NICO's clock is 15 minutes fast, because mine says 2:45...

My speedometer reads double. Exactly double.

I have a sr20det in an s14. Would this be caused by having a KA speed sensor or something?I doubt its the speedo because it goes up twice as fast as it's supposed to.

Any replies appreciated as always :D

Timeline- Zenki, Chuki, Zenki, Kouki
In japanese zenki translates to "first part". Kouki translates to "later part" or "final". Japanese sometimes has many meanings for one word so I could be wrong in translation but I think the translations i gave are what they are supposed to be. With that being said kouki could not be the first half. That wouldn't make sense would it? I have no clue what chuki means, it would be best to ask someone that lives on the other side of the pond for that one.

This is a long shot and don't take it as an insult I only ask because I have seen this somewhere before. An acquaintance of mine just bought a car and the speed was off by almost double and we couldn't figure out what it was. Come to find out he had a jdm gauge cluster with kph instead of mph. If not it has to be an electrical issue. A chewed up speed sensor gear would be on/off again or not work at all. It would be best to ask the SR forum and see if anyone else has had this same issue. Chances are someone over there will be able to help you out better. Good luck and post back on here after you fix it, I am interested to know what is causing that kind of issue, for my own personal future reference.

Orr... the circumference of your tires is exactly half that of the OEM size! LMAO

If it was KPH, it wouldn't be exactly double, it would be 1.61x the mph. BUT on the other hand... how do you know it reads exactly double!?

Hey guys, need some help;

Was looking into upgrading the s14 deck('95), since the stock is almost unbearable.Wondering if anyone knows speaker dimensions, deck adapter, harness. Any pointers would be appreciated in installing a new deck/speakers.

Thanks in advance

check http://www.crutchfield.com for that. They do all that pretty much automatically.

Also check http://www.240sxtech.com to see if there are any custom speaker upgrades or something.

LOL. But it is a true story, and I did say almost double. I am looking forward to finding out what caused this issue in his car.

alrighty here goes..im hooking up the a/f ratio gauge that was in my car when i got it. but not hooked up.so i ripped it all apart and found the power for the oil pressure gauge thats right next to a/f on dash. so i spliced in power to the a/f on that same wire. found a ground and it works. but.there a lil green light on even when ignitions off.did i taap into wrong power source? or is that supposed to happenand also how the purple wire get into the ecu. just stuff it in with the other purple wire in the ecu harness?

edit:nvm i figured it out. oil pressure has its own shut off so im gona use radio power intead. and purple wire is supposed to go to the wrire from o2 sensor. if im wrong let me know...

You know those signs on the street that show the speed you're going? It shows 20 if my speedo says 40, 30 if my speedo says 60, etc.

Could it possibly be that the USDM final drive is 4.1 and the JDM one is 3.6? and I'm on 16s with 45 series tires.

Sup guys, hope you can help me out.

Im thinking about doing the Maxima/180sx brake swap and have a question:

I read in some forum that the maxima, altima, and 240 brake calipers are all the same, the difference being the caliper mounting brackets.

So could someone confirm if I could just get the brackets off a Maxima and use them on my stock calipers for the 180sx brake swap?

Its cheaper/more convenient for me to just order the mounting brackets than to go to a JY and hunt for the entire caliper assembly.

thanks

whatever gear ratio you have in your rear should not cause these symptomsIt is more than likely an electrical issue. Like I said in a previous post. Post this down on the sr forum. But keep us posted, I am interested in what is causing these conditions.

alrighty i got two questions guys.

Im looking into buying this pristine looking s14 with rather low original miles (86k) on a local forum. the offer seemd too good to be true so i started browsing the sellers older posts and it would appear as though he turbo'd the Ka at around 70-75k and then unturbo'd it around 80. I donno but that seems kinda sketchy to me. would there be anything really detrimental that i should look for because of this? i donno too much about cars.when i go see it im gunna ask him about it and some other things i found a little weird.

also anyone know where i can find these headlamps? or atleast what their called so i can look 'em up.

I'm looking to buy an s13 but it needs a new driveshaft bearing. It runs fine but has a knocking sound every once in a while. It is still worth it? I found the bearing at multiple places online but am I going to get whacked with a huge install fee or could it be a simple DIy project?

Unturboing doesn't really mean anything except he knew he could get more money selling a car and a turbo kit rather than a car with a turbo kit. Ask him and see what he says. Maybe he was selling the car and his friend called dibs on the turbo, I don't know. It looks like a pretty clean car with some camber issues. How much does he want for it?

It depends on how much he's asking for it. Does he know for sure that's what the problem is? How does the car run otherwise? The bearing is a pretty simple procedure, and I'm sure you wouldn't have trouble finding a member on here in SC that wouldn't mind lending a helping hand. Check the fluids meticulously: transmission, engine oil, etc; you don't want any metal shavings, etc. Just be careful dude, and ask a hundred and one questions. We're here for follow-up.

It might be close, but I think it will be fine with some 275-35R18s. The Stances are adjustable; would it be the end of the world if you had to lift it 1cm? If you go to a local wheel/tire shop, they'll usually measure you up to tell you what would fit best for free...

Too much drit tax for a zenki . If you want it that bad its your money.....but you can find clean and boosted s13s for that price or lower, or boosted s14s that would look great with a little bit of paint.

I have 350z track v. 1 rims and I need new lug nuts (the stock ones are really short and the wheel is to deep). I know nothing about lug nuts so can someone point me in the right direction? I would like them to be that metallic blue. Thank you.

New member here. Just wondering if you guys have a sticky with what to look out for when buying a 240sx. Is there something particular that I should look at and also, is it a fairly reliable car? Thanks

Reliable? Yes and No. First, I'm not a big fan of the single cam KA; I believe the DOHC KAs will last longer. Some people swear by 'em, but I'm not some people. Secondly, who owned it last or who owned it at all for that matter? Is it stock? If you start with a stock car and move forward with it, reliability is in your hands and your odds are much better. If you buy one that's been molested, odds are it's gonna molest you. 240s are great cars and they're fun if that's what you're looking for. Go to the 240SX Forum (the parent forum of this thread) and look at the stickies on there. The first several threads are stickied, and there should be some info in there. The search function is great also, because almost any question you can come up with has been answered before. Also, a lot of people hate seeing repeat questions...

Good luck! ...and Welcome!
