Im currently running 205/60/r15 tires on my rims.

I was wondering if I could fit some 195/60/15 instead? Reason being I found a killer deal on tires of that size.

I dont know the offset of my wheels..ive looked but couldnt find any markings.
How wide are your wheels? That will determine what size tire u can/cannot put on them.

If they are your stock wheels, then yes, you can.

No they are not the stock ones....but thanks for the answer. I'll try to figure out how to measure them and post here again. Someone is selling like 10 used but good condition tires in craigslist on that size so I would have drift spares to last a while!

From the pic it looks like you are talking about the 14mm (or was it 12? i dont remember) nuts for the strut tower. If so you can just go to autozone or advance auto or whatever and get replacements. They come in boxes and are identical so don't bother going to a dealership or to a hardware store and trying to hunt them down....I did and couldn't find an identical match. Then I remembered I had purchased a set of extra nuts for my previous car. I dug them out and sure enough, they were the same

^ Come to think of it, YES!!! That is the rear strut housing! Threw me off with those wires. I'm almost positive they are 14mm. But like you said, Auto Zone. Make sure you take one of the other ones with you so that you can match the threads; I don't remember what they are right off, but I would guess 1.50

Hey again guys. Two basic (possibly stupid, but that's why I'm here) questions.

-I have an issue with my car in which the windshield wiper fluid indicator light stays on despite having full fluid in it. How do I reset it or turn it off? It's annoying.

-Will closed muteki lugnuts work on factory SE S13 alloy rims? One website says not to use them on factory wheels..something about different threading or something.

Thanks.

I can promise you it has nothing to do with threading. Tuner lug nuts are for wheels that have small, tight lug holes; therefore, the lug nuts are smaller - but I don't see any reason why you can't use them with OEM wheels. Usually it's only the other way around that doesn't work (because of the tight hole thing ). But if you're worried, go to the local auto parts store and tell them you need 12mmx1.25mm closed end lug nuts and they can probably help you out.

I don't know how to turn that light off, unfortunately. Check the sensor and it's connector for corrosion. It's should be located on the bottom of the fluid reservoir.

Ok thanks! I found that harness looking which I assume is it's connector by the resevoir in the wheel well. I'm not sure if it was corroded, but it had a lot of grease on it and was pretty sticky. I thought maybe unplugging and replugging it would fix it, but I couldn't budge it. Then I realized that it may have been a potentially bad idea.

Also, I love you speedeast.

Just read the seafoam right up, looks like a good idea for my car. Have a couple of questions. Where is the check valve on a s14, it says to bypass it. Also how do you and where do you pour it into the "crank case"?

You don't really need to bypass it, but its inline to your brake booster. You'd have to disconnect the main vacuum line that goes to your brake booster from the intake manifold side of the check valve if you wanted to bypass it.

The crank case... uh, you just pour it through your oil filler hole in your valve cover.

In that case I would run 225/40R18 (~25" diameter)

maybe 215/35R18 (~24" diameter) if the 40 profile is too thick...

Im finally upgrading to coilovers... however my question is what other suspension parts should I upgrade. Im looking at PBM and Cusco right now. The setup is going to be for DD and light track usage. Thanks.

I like upgraded sway bars, strut tower braces, polyurethane bushings, and really any other parts that eliminate flex and torsion.

You are gonna have to get at least RUCAS and Toe Rods to be able to get a decent alignment. Ideally you should get tension rods and traction rods as well.

I didn't align my car after installing coilovers, just eyeballed it and it drove "fine" on the dry.

Then I drove it on the rain and nearly bloody died....it was swerving side to side and I had a hard time staying on the center of the lane going 30mph

Now I'm just waiting on my toe rods to arrive so I can get it aligned asap

Im looking at a couple of s14s tomorrow. Does the timing chain need to be replaced as maintenance, if so at what intervals?

Supposedly the timing chain is supposed to last the life of the vehicle. If the engine experienced extreme neglect, the timing chain would probably be compromised... but then at that point, so would a whole lot of other things.

I've been reading up on going KA-T lately and came across emissions removal. I read this http://www.nicoclub.com/articles.php?id=157751 But what is the purpose of removing these "emissions" and what do these parts do. Also is it legal?

96 and up. If its a late 95 maybe it has it...there should be a sticker under the hood or something that says OBD II compliant

No, the first batch of 95 S14s were OBDI. So, maybe about half of the 95 S14s?

Seeing as how most turbo manifolds don't accomodate the stock EGR system, you just remove it. It keeps things simple. No, its not usually legal, but as long as you can pass emissions (by whatever means.... running alcohol or whatever), then most states don't care.

My friend is selling a radar dectector I want. Problem is my cigarette lighter doesnt deliver electricity when you plug things into it. What could be the problem? Is there a place where i can buy a whole new cigarette lighter and not just the tab you push in?
