http://www.vividracing.com/cat....htmlThat's a link to the Greddy Kit. Yea I've been reading up in that forum a lot and my friend has some turbo experience with an SR. I meant tuning with the emanage it comes with, it says its pretuned for 6-8psi.

To be 100% honest, I know nothing about how to tune a vehicle. That was the one thing I tried to figure out from reading and completely confused myself. (I'm sure it's easier to learn hands-on) This is the reason I'm going with a rom tune from jimwolftechnology.com . The price, isn't too great either. IMO you can do much better than that with 3000. That kit doesn't include an FMIC or a BOV. I recommend you get ahold of the guys over at cip motorsports and tell them your budget and ask their advice. I spent hours exchanging emails with John before I finally decided on the setup I'm going to run. THEY'RE ALSO A NICO SPONSOR!! http://240sxmotoring.com They have a contact us page with numerous ways to contact them including AIM and Email.

You'll need an OBDII ecu... 95+

For the past week I noticed that Ive been leaking oil. So I jacked up the car yesterday and realized the leak is coming form an area higher than the oil pan. So, today I took it for a free check and the mechanic told me its leaking from the front crankshaft seal and the oil pan gasket. Is this a fix that I can do by myself or is it best to have it done professionally? They quoted me a price of $425. Is that reasonable?

You need some specialty tools. The repair is not super hard, but if your new to turning wrenched you may want to have it done. I wonder about the shape of the rear main seal seeing that your front main seal is leaking.

1) Valve cover gasket: Unless for some reason, it looks as if it's falling apart, I'd reuse the stock one. Then again, if you still have a KA24, you can pick up a new one from your local parts store so wouldn't hurt. With my SR, I took my valve cover off 3 times trying to get the timing right. I reused my stock valve cover since I really didn't have time to order a new one. It worked fine.

2) 240sx's generally have higher clutch pedals than other cars. From my understanding there is a way to adjust this, but you'll need to do some searching to find that answer.

3) Locking lugnut?? I have no idea what you are talking about.

Thanks, Im going to look into it a bit more. Does that price seem reasonable? And I doubt when he quoted me he was taking into account the labor fees.

O.K. this isn't a 240 specific thing. Yes, you have a locking lugnut. Slap the guy who sold you the car and ask him where the key to it is. It'll be an odd fitting that fits it. These are suppose to prevent people from jacking your wheels. Check your glove box and behind / underneath your seats. Maybe even in the donut tire spot in your trunk... Under the carpeting in the trunk area.. Places like that...

I got a Greddy Profec B-Spec 2 and have heard nothing but bad reviews about them. I just recently got my SR and i am about to install but i don't want boost spike to kill my turbo or something. I think i am going to sell the bspec2 and get a manual boost controller. I was considering getting a hallman one....are these reliable or will i also have to worry whether or not i will have boost spike or boost leak? I dont want to have to save $500 for an Apexi AVCR ebc that would take a while. thanks.

The stock lug nuts on a 240sx are tiny, I need long ones to better hold my new 350z track rims. Anybody have any idea where I should start?

I'm sure you mean the studs.... not the lug nuts. Either way, most parts stores carry upgraded studs for vehicles..

No, that is not possible. The RB is an inline 6 and the SR/KA are inline 4 cylinders.

Nope, just drain what is in the radiator from the radiator drain plug, then fill it back up with water, start it up and let it run for a minute, and then drain it all back out and fill it with 50/50 coolant/water mix.

What plug are you talking about? Is it the freeze plug(s)? If so, those act like fuses if for some reason your coolant/water were to freeze in your block, it would blow those out instead of cracking your block.

I don't believe in this. Water freezes and expands in all directions. Though it does aid in freezing if coolant isn't there, but freeze plugs should be called sand plugs IMO. They are use to plug the holes used for getting the sand out of the head from the casting process. They can help in freezing, but the reason they are their is for the casting process.

Hello. Noobert here. Just picked up a 96 S14 SE. My first Nissan and RWD. Super excited. Glad to see there are lots of forums for these platforms. I did a search on here for an answer to my question. My problem was that my HVAC / Climate control lights went out. I took the unit apart and decided to replace the bulbs with LED's . . . I found out the hard way that they must be 12V. LoL. But thats as far as I got. I did do a search and a guy in 2006 said he was going to post a how to on this. But That was his last post. Any cluse on how to do this properly ?

This website really helps....

I've been looking into this for a while. I think you can buy LED's with built in resistors but that's just too easy. Resistors are necessary to prevent LED's from becoming SED's.

Just google LED arrays and soak up as much as you can...

Its not horrible, but I got my loaded calipers rebuilt from a local auto parts store for $93 each plus core... I just returned the stock front calipers in the boxes and got my core charge back.
