so I found a auto sun roof in a pignose coupe at the junk yard. I was wondering if it would fit in a hatch. If so is there any mod I would have to do.

I guessing its auto because it had a switch. Thanks again

got a question.. i failed inspection in NJ for a few things, minor problems. but something i do not know how to fix is how to get high beams. i have 8k HIDs on and i guess i'm technically riding with the high beams on, but i still failed. is there any way to mess with the HIDs to get a high beam or did i do something wrong in installation? OR is there no way i can get high beams.. i searched nico and couldn't find an answer so there are my questions

That question is probably better suited as its own thread... definitely not a newbie question.

There is a link to factory service manuals in my sig. You'll find the wiring diagram there.

Yeah, there was a tube there from the factory, but it isn't required.

Found it in my spam folder... odd. I wonder if anyone else is having problems accessing the classifieds.

Hi,

I just replaced the driver side rear caliperdue to the old one seizing up, and the ebrake is really high now, and not that tight also as it used to be! Is it due to one rear caliper is new and the other one is old? unless i installed the caliper wrong....Also do i have to bleed all the brakes or just the rear caliper that i removed? Possible to bleed the brakes with the wheel still on?

A very weird thing happened after i installed the brake, i switched the transmission from 1st to neutral as the car was still jacked up on one side, i turned on the car with ebrake down, and then the driver side rotor (without the wheel) started turning but yet the passenger rear tire is still on the ground! Is this a clutch or manual transmission issue? shifter in neutral, wheel is turning while engine is idling...

My Dad brought this up to me today, my car has a 5 speed swap done to it by the previous owner and if I'm not at a pretty much complete stop it's really hard to shift into 1st gear. Is this normal for a 97' 240sx?

I never noticed, but then again I never try to shift into 1st unless I'm at an almost complete stop... definitely under 5mph.

Yeah, it's normal. You have to be going SUPER slow to shift into first. Because of this, I'm like Smurf, I pretty much wait till I'm completely stopped.

Kinda sucks, like when you roll up to a light and it turns green when you're going like 8mph. You either have to really bogg 2nd or stop and throw it into 1st.

Same here for me. I had a s14 trans and it did the same thing but 3rd syncro was chewed up from previous owner. So I swapped out to a S13 trans(had to change the bell housing and misc.) and the s13 trans does the same thing but without the grind from the bad syncro. So don't worry its normal and don't try to force it in first either thats how you break things. I tend to bog in second.

You're not supposed to shift down to first until you're at a completely stop anyway.

Thanks for the help guys, another question though. The previous owner did a 5 speed swap and is there anyway to tell the difference between an S13 trans and an S14 one?

ODB2 S14 5 speeds have a hole in the bell housing for a CAS.

okay.. I just swapped in a dohc into my 90 chassis. My fan brushes against the top of the shroud when the cars running. Is there a safe way to cut the shroud to avoid this or a way to raise it up higher? Or is there a different shroud to use?

Where is the hole located on the bell housing, and what's a CAS?

you can just eliminate the shroud all together.

I was told that would be dangerous, since it might run into the intake.

Well I'm back again. I'm here because my car is acting up. I replaced alot on my car because of this problem. Just a bit ago I was pullin into my apartment complex and my car just died. It says I have gas just a bit below a quarter tank, it cranks and cranks and cranks but it won't start up.

My 240 is a 93 KA24DE.

I had this same problem a few months back and it just went away after awhile. I can't afford or wait for this problem to stop again. If I let it sit all night it will start up in the morning, but I can't rely on that because I don't need ot have this thing die on me while I'm out drivin around, it dying when I come home has been pure luck.

It has a 95 Kouki fuel pump in it, I've drained the tank and cleaned it, replaced the fuel lines and the filter at the front, carb cleaned the pump filter, replaced the coil and the entire set up attached to the coil, plugs, o2 senor, dizzy cab and bug, plug wires, checked all my fuses, replaced fusible links and even replace igition relays, also checked ground wires.

Why would it let me drive it all day and then out of no where die and not start up?

ah the ol "its got a quarter tank" deal. If I had a nickel for every time I heard that...

Just put more gas in it and see if it starts. Does it ever die when its got MORE than a quarter tank? If so, look into your coolant temp sensor. Does it smell like fuel when you are cranking it?

poppycock. Who told you that? You should be able to look at it and determine if that will happen. Do you have pictures?

have you ever stopped and thought about the kind of gas you were using or where you were getting it from...this used to happen to my 06 mustang, and my impala. i was getting gas at the same place, and it would always die...it was because there was water in the gas at the station. put some seafoam, or heat in it. and gas from a diff station.
