Which steering wheel hub would I need to replace the stock steering wheel on my 90 240 (with cruise control, that is now broken and I don't want to keep it) with a momo or sparco steering wheel, as the stock one has seen a lot of heat and the rubber is now too sticky and nasty to hold. who should I buy this from>thanks a lot

Yeah, you don't want to be slapping a $2000 turbo kit on your DD. You can do a lot more with the 240 though... RWD is definitely more fun, and the compression ratio isn't as high as the Honda's (so you can turbo it later on down the road).

your best bet would be to check the regional forums.

I have disconnected it for the time being but was just wondering if anyone knew what i could do to fix it, as i need a working horn to pass its next wof, any help would be appreciated

haha that sucks man, my brother used to have a problem like that, but it was in his POS hyundai.Anyway, we had to pull the front of the steering wheel off, where the contacts for the horn were... and one of them was shorting out on something.

Next time it happens, try banging on the column or near where the button for the horn is... if it skips a little bit, your shorting it out somewhere.

How much could i expect to pay for a 5 speed swap, parts and all, and how much would i get for the auto with 70k on it? Im looking at a nice zenk with only 70k for a good price, the only problem is its an auto.

figure to pay a shop to convert it to 5 speed... maybe $1200-1500ish? That can go up if you buy go fast goodies like beefy clutches and rebuild the transmission and stuff... as for the used auto... I dunno, not much at all. Probably about however much its worth in scrap aluminum. ($75?)

so i have had absolutely NO luck getting a drivers seat for my s13.i have looked everywhere, and im always to late or the dude doesnt reply. even the local shop i tried has flaked on me and keeps forgetting to pick one up for me.

so the car i bought has the passenger seat, can i just swap the passenger side with the drivers side? any reasons why that wouldnt work? im getting kinda desperate, and dont want to drop $400 on a race seat, i just want to be able to drive my car.

I have a 92 240 auto nicely tuned for a few years and just picked up a 91 240 5speed SE Hicas. The 91 hauls a**. Does the SE have a factory upgrade to the engine?

they are rated at the same peak power level, but maybe the curve in the 91 is a little better? 91's have more aggressive cams. The manual transmission makes a big difference too.

trying to register my 240 (ka24e) and i'm hitting some road blocks...any legal recommendations for a gross polluter, a little info...--terribly low idle, terribly high hydrocarbon, terrible gas mileage (about half of what it's rated at), occasionally dies at idle (stops signs, speed bumps, etc.), I just changed the coolant temperature sensor, and temperature gauge sender, and they helped a little bit, but not nearly enough. here's the smog test.

I don't want to trick the sniffer with denatured alcohol or temporary additives, i want to fix this.I have an idea that it might be either a lot of carbon build up and maybe seafoam can help that, or bad injectors?any help is appreciated. Thanks!

So this forum is horrible. I hate the security you guys have on posting. I usually spend most of my time reading others posts and using the search icon to find what i need. but now i cant post in the classifieds... yes i read the rules.... but come on. Can you guys just get a spam blocker? or do like we do on driftpa.com and just delete them? maybe the numbers of this type of thing are too great for that. Which i can understand... of to do my 10 posts..... this is so lame

Ok this is probably a stupid question, but why is the 300zx brake swap so popular? Isn't it easier to buy a big brake package for the 240sx? Also on S14's, is the rear brake drum or disc?

the Z32 brake upgrade is so popular because it is MUCH cheaper than a big brake kit... and uses factory Nissan equipment, which there are lots of different brands of pads and rotors for. It is also quite the easy swap... the calipers bolt right on to the factory spindles. All you have to do is change brake lines (along with the other hardware).

S14- Rear brakes are disc, but they have an internal drum for E-brake.

thanks guys I also have another question. I've tried searching and there seem to be some people who have put a S15 HLSD into a S14 pumpkin, but is it as straight forward as they make it seem? Also what parts would you need?

You're a little behind the 8 ball there Junior, you should have gotten a job when you were 14...

And you learn by coming to the forum! After you read some crap, you go out there, and do it yourself.

i have 2 questions.1. If I were to use my e-brake to initiate a drift a lot then would that abuse burn up my e-brak and cause it to eventually not work when i put it in park or not work at all?2. What is an itb on an engine and what does it do? I see all these guys use acronyms for stuff but I dont know what they are so if you could go over basic ones then that would be great.Thank you guys for such a great place to come and learn about a fascinating car.

1. same as any brake, you will still have to replace the pads. BUT if you just use it to intiate the drift it should last a while since its not constantly dragging.2. your guess is as good as mine!

Think you mean All Wheel Steering, most of the time known as HICAS. I wouldn't say it's the easiest thing to take out but it can be down. This should help you out.
