Does anyone have a good tutorial on how to change spark plugs? I have a 1990 240sx stock KA24E motor.

I tried searching, but couldn't find info.

Hello - New 240sx owner and member from North Texas. I was "given" a 91 Hatch that has seen better days. I have my work cut out for me, but I do have a plan and will be hitting up the forums and the web in general to help me through this re-build. I have already pulled the wing and started pulling the interior. My initial plans are to make custom fixed headlights, an aluminum race style interior and of course new paint.

Well what I did was just swap the gauge cluster from a sohc one to a dohc one. Works like a charm. Even got those led bulbs for the cluster and put em in as I swapped em.

Can't seem to find a straight forward answer to this question, so here goes: Will the KA24E SOHC harness work with an RB20DET, i'm pretty sure you can convert the sohc harness to dohc but is it worth it? Should i just pick up a clean, uncut dohc KA harness to work with when rewiring for the rb20? Please help, need to figure this out so i can go ahead and go on with teh project.

Car is an 89 240sx coupe with the original ka24e. (155,xxx miles) (rustless ) florida ftw

Hey guys!

I'm new to the forums and interested in purchasing a 1997 or 98 s14 or kouki 5spd MT. However, I do not know a lot about Nissans, only Hondas. So my newbie question is what about the car should I know before purchasing one, and I mean anything and everything you all know or would look out for, dealing with mileage, engine longevity, transmission, brakes, etc etc. Also, is there a massive difference between SE and LE trim levels, if so which car would you recommend.

You probably already know that the 95 96 is a zenki and the 97 98 is a kouki and they are both s14 chasis. You can put 97 98 body kit on a 95 96. There will be no issues for the rear bumper or side skirts, but when you put on the front bumper you need 97 98 fenders, grille, headlights and hood.

I too have seen the light and left honda. I bought a 97 LE. LE is the luxory addition and it comes stock with keyless entry, 5 lug, lsd, sunroof, 16" alloy wheels and platinum leather interior. But asking what car to buy should depend on what you want out of the car. Do you want a sunroof? Do you want 5 lug? Do you want LSD? I bought my 97LE because I got a great price and it was in great condition. But it would pretty much be the same car if it was an SE because of all the stuff I have done to it. The 97 98 240sx have the same engine in them ka24de. They all have the same look so basically you just need to do what you would normally do when buying any kind of car, whether nissan or honda. Rust? Vehicle history? Vehicle maintenance? You know your typical buying procedure. Check for rust under the rear wing and if you have access bring an obd2 reader and check to see if they have any codes. Read this too http://www.nicoclub.com/financ...shtml Good luck on you search.

id depends on the condition of the car and all that stuff. most ive seen go around that area.

i have a question. I bought a S13 coupe with a few mods. it has a G-Force harness, and a Megan Racing Exhaust. A few friends told me that the harness is illegal (i live in socal), is it? why and any other details would be aprecitated. and for the fart can, is it illegal and if so why? i think all i have might be the tip but not shure.

You might want to check the regional forum and ask people in there.

What should I expect if I buy a kouki with 170,000+ miles on the KA24DE and on the car itself?

well if you were to buy that car, I would check for rust (especially in the wheel wells and trunk.) would also check to see if the seals leak oil!!! check regular maintence stuff and make sure the clutch grabs and no weird sounds! thats what i would do personally

I found this image while i was searching

I was wondering what kind of paint is used to get those results, in the interior.

I purchased some cans of basic metal primer from crappy tire for about $3.50, and I was wondering if it would get messed up from the car sitting in the hot sun after it was applied.

thats a good question, paint isn't my forte, but i would say they either had that had it professionally painted inside and out or they touched it up while they were building it with silver spray paint. I would if possible put it under a tree after I painted it to keep from fading. You would see better results i belive.

Hey okay, so i mostly read, and never ask questions, due to the fact of knowing what the word search means.

however, sometimes NICOs search is a fail. Ive been on many search engines in the past, and this one needs a revamp.

If anybody would be so kind as to give me suggestions of word combinations to look up for AC hardline install and AC install for obdI ka24de...so again just asking what i should put under the search put.....then ill do the search myself. thanx.

I have a stock redtop SR and my turbo now when it spools, sounds like crap. I want to rebuild it but I want to know if I should rebuild it or get a new one. How do you check for shaft play? And if there's too much then you can't rebuild it can you? Also what is a good rebuild kit, does Nissan make one?

Ok, Thats what I figured.

Now, If I bought a wide-body for a 97, is there anything else that I would have to buy, I know you said the hood and lights which is kinda obvious. But like is there any mounts/brackets I would have to get as well or would everything mount up straight?

it's lefty loosey i believe, that's how mine come off.

the over fenders/widebody thing, i dunno a thing about them. I wouldnt put bigger fenders unless i had the wider wheels that needed them. If it were me though, i would do wider over fenders in the back, and wider fenders in the front.

Well, what I planned to do was get the full body kit, bumpers and side skirts, and then get wide front fenders and the rear quarter panels. I'm just wonderin whether or not i'm gonna have to buy/find anything to put it on my car.
