My question is what would be the best wheels to buy for around $250 per wheel?I was looking at some of the 5zigen FN01R-C which look pretty good other then that i havent found much except cheap Sportmax and Rota (althougt i like the D2's). Thanks for the help!!!!!!
FN01R-C's are the wheel of 'yore. They were one of the first wheels available in 4 lug, and with good offsetts, so just about everyone bought them. For the best answer to your question, you should try visiting the wheels/suspension section of this forum.
Scuffed_ChukiCoupe wrote:LSD stands for limited slip differential. It basically allows both tires to spin at once. ITs better for racing applications because obviously tou want as much traction as possible to the ground. There are differnt types of lsd's though, theres the vlsd and hlsd and others i think (clutch type). Hlsd iuno how that works im sure somone will elaborate more, but vlsd stands for viscious and hlsd stands for helical. The vlsd is the crappier of the two, because it works like an open diff where on wheel spins all the time, but in a vlsd the fluid in the diff gets hot as one wheel spins and expands and locks the other side so it spins too. The helical i think has to do with gears though.
Essentially, the difference between the LSD's is how fast they react to the slipping wheel. For most purposes, a cheap VLSD unit will perform just fine.

hi, my friend just got a 91 240sx hatch and just trying to research for her cuz she has no time cuz of school and all. well, her car came with no stock radio just the wires w/o the clip. so I need to know what each of the colored wires are (ground, power, etc)? because we wanna try and put an aftermarket deck in ourselves just to get familiarized with the car.

The 89 hatch doesn't come with a factory lsd does it? Do any of the 240s? Just wondering.

I don't remember exactly, but I'm pretty sure the only S13s that came with lsd were ones that were equipped with HICAS (Nissan's version of 4 wheel steering). If your S13 doesn't have HICAS, it was not equipped with an LSD from the factory.

depending on where you are in CA, if a cop pops your hood and sees an SR, you are going to get a ticket no matter what you put on it. VIN plates are on the chassis, not the engine. IIRC they are stamped into the block if they have one.

I don't know what those crazy crackers are doing these days. Some say they take your car and make it a police car, some say they crush it... I think something bad will definately happen if they pull you over for street racing... but if its just something routine, probably not. The ticket for popping the hood would be for an illegal motor in your car. Maybe one of the other guys from CA will chime in soon and let you know exactly whats up.

I've always had good luck with Lucasoil differential/gear oil. I run 80w90 IIRC.

Hey guys, I'm interested in buying an 1995 Nissan 240SX, which I got a pretty good deal on. However, I'm really confused now after getting home from getting the bill of sale. Looking at some pictures and specs, I realized that the base model is 4 nut 15 inch wheels, but when I was over looking at the car, I clearly remember it being an SE. SE models came with 5 nut 15 inch wheels, correct me if I am wrong. The car was billed and even has a SE sticker on the back, leading me to believe it was an SE. However, now that I think about it, the summer tires the gentlemen was showing me were also in 4 bolt pattern, leading to me now thinking that it is a base model but SE stamped.

The specs on the car: Power window, power lock, power mirror, AC, cruise control...not sure if that helps or not...but I'm really hoping it is a SE model however, the 4 bolts lead me in the other direction.

I was waiting to see if anyone else answered you but no one did. I don't know if ARP even makes wheel studs. I was under the impression that they were more of an engine stud company. If you want strong wheel studs you can get Nismo hardened steel ones. http://www.courtesyparts.com should have them.

Anyone have any idea why I can't get radio signal? All the normal stations I can normally listen to are just static. So what should I look for while troubleshooting. I don't know too much about radio wiring and stuff. It's a 89' 240sx. Thanks.

if your head unit is aftermarket, theres a good chance someone couldnt be bothered to hook up the antenna wiring. if its hooked up to the stereo, remove the panel in the trunk/hatch area to see the connection to the antenna itself. if everything is connected okay on those ends, assume the wiring is broken somewhere in between.

im assuming of course that your power antenna is fully raised.

Unless your willing to use some decently strong chemicals... I'd look into a replacement.

What year shell is it? I'm taking a leap of faith and assuming that he has an engine that will work in it. -- If its an S14, get: oem style kouki hood, ebay head lights, then source a bumper, turn signals, and a couple fenders (after market may be easier for the fenders).

By decently strong you mean something along the lines of bleach or something stronger, like sulfuric acid?

I'm planning to buy a Chuki shell with Auto Trans. It's an SE with HUD and Sun Roof.

I want to know how to tell if the car has LSD from sport package. It has aftermarket wheels (crap) and unknown coil-overs.

Thanks

Sounds like a vac leak to me... could be a dirty MAF. Chances are its not the pressure regulator, and if the pump was bad... it wouldn't run at all. What is your idle set at? Have you tried Seafoaming the car?

Check for an orange sticker on the diff. Also, if you jack the rear end up, put the car in neutral, and spin one wheel, the other wheel should spin in the same direction. If not, you don't have a LSD. To come equipped from the factory it would need Super HICAS.
