Front mount intercooler Kit- $500

Koyo Radiator and Fans- $700

Z32 MAF- $300

= $9100 and $600 left over to spend on whatever. And that is only provided you want 400whp. Naturally as you scale down a lot of price is reduced.
I just noticed this and am kicking myself that I made a thread in the technical forum

What if you just wanted 270-300 hp?

Here's my dealio. I recently replaced a few wheel studs on the rear driver side (s14 zenki base). I had a little trouble just taking off the brake caliper so i hammered it a little to take it off the rotor. I even let the bleeder loose to let some fluid out. When i was putting the caliper back on the rotor i had to depress the cylinder to make enough room. After driving the car, my e-brake felt weaker. It still holds the car but it doesn't stop the car like it used to. Now when i am drifting and using the e-brake i have to pull that shyt up real high to lock the wheels. I already loosened the adjusting nut on the e brake and pumped the brakes and then tightened the nut back up, and that made it feel better for a few pulls of the e-brake until i heard a small snap and back to the normal weak e-brake and having to pull the shyt out of it to drift with. What do u guys thinkThanks fellas

Does nissan have a specified name for their variable valve timing, like an acronym?

name's Mike. i'm new here. i've done some research and figured i wanna go the gusto with an S13. Now i've narrowed it down to 2 options: RB26DETT or S15 SR20DET. i know that with the RB, i'll have to get a RB25DET trans., new mounts, wiring and driveshaft. Are there any other problems i can encounter?

and as with the S15 engine, the engine itself will fit right? i know the transmission will be a problem, so what work will it need? should just go with a S13/S14 transmission instead(if possible)?

and is there a place where i can mix and match engines and transmissions? or any place u guys recommend on where to get these engines? any info much appreciated.thanx.

Im pretty sure the s15 transmission bolts up like the s14 and 13 trannies. Check my thread in the rwd sr section about s15 trannies and their reliability. Ill find it 4 u cant find it.

i found the post. thanx. so yeah it should be fine cuz i'm not looking to constantly abuse it. i checked tou some sites for s15 engines for the S13 chassis and this is what they said: The S13 chassis requires more work. The driveshaft has different mounting location from the S14 / S15 chassis. Custom one-piecs driveshaft or modified S14 DS must be used, Black box also needed for speedometer.

is that all? or is there more to it?

Besides the NICO classisfieds, anyone know a good site to find a 240sx for sale. Trying to find one in my home state, Missouri. Guy hit me and totalled mine about 3 weeks ago.

craigslist.com. It's great for finding stuff locally that won't be on cars.com or vehix.com

complete motor, transmission, driveshaft, wiring harness, ECU, motor mounts, intercooler, lots of fabrication skills, money, and lots of patience.

You'd be better off modding the red top you have to "go big".

I have an s13. I put 16s on it (s14 se front and z32 rear).

why does my speedo indicite a HIGHER speed than the actual speed? (measured multiple times those little things the cops put on the side of the road that are equipped with radar and a screen to display speed)

larger wheels should cause your indicated speed to be SLOWER than the actual speed. why is there a difference? (note: this is the case on 2 different s13s I own)

hey guysI just bought a 1996 240sx the gay looking zenki.I want to do a 97-98 front end swap. The questions I have is:

1)When I want to buy and install a kouki projector headlamp, what do I need to do? Is it direct bolt on or do I have to rewire to change to "projector"?

2)Where can I go to purchase a jdm projector headlight? Do they sell aftermarket projectors other than jdm?

3)Is fiberglass fenders a good alternative to OEM metal fenders?

thank you!

also, i have been searching online on different sites for some parts that i want to add and want to find out if these parts are gonna be good or not. keep in mind im not gonna be taking this thing to the track all the time, it's just gonna be a daily driver to play with.

Blitz NUR Spec-R CatbackFR High-Flow CatMegan Turbo ManifoldMegan DownpipeGReddy M Spec Intercooler KitInjen Short Ram IntakeMegan Coilover KitMegan Front and Rear Struts

Again, i dont wanna do a complete overhaul on this thing, just wanna make it a fairly decent little drifter to play around with. so any input on the parts listed above would be great. im also putting on TenzoR DC-6 Version 1 rims (the black with red lip). what size should i be looking for? I wanna go with the 17x7 but i have read in some different places that those might not fit. should i go with the 16's? thanks guys.

It doesn't just depend on the size of the wheel, but the wheel/tire combo. Maybe you are running such low profile tires that the actual outer diameter is smaller? Either that or your speedo is plain incorrectly calibrated.

Those little cop radar things your talking about usually arent very accurate. its probly telling you the wrong speed. cuz if you have larger tires than stock, your speedo will read a slower speed than what your actually doing, like you said earlier. it could also be that your speedo is a little off for some reason. i had that problem with a couple cars ive owned in the past. if you take it to a shop they should calibrate your speedo to work in sync with whatever size tires you have. they usually do it for free

1) iirc, headlight wiring will need to be modified to fit the kouki bulbs. Dont quote me on that cuz I dont have an s14 to begin with, but from what I heard, that's a common thing. Hopefully that doesnt seem too hard, becuase it really isn't. All it is, is just cutting the wires you have and soldering the kouki ones in (I think?)

2) yes... there are other companies that make projectors, like Hella for example.

3) sure, why not?

yeah, that sounds about right... but honestly, I wouldnt trust getting engines through ebay. Aren't there any shops nearby that you can physically examine conditions? Reason being, if you order from ebay, and they send you a blown motor... regardless if you get you eventually get your refund or not... its a huge hassle..

okay... you say, coilover kit and front and rear struts by Megan. You're talking about their basic coilovers right (streets and track)? not a spring and strut combo? if so.. eh, they're okay. Honestly, I'd spend the extra couple hundred more to get KTS or Stance. Huge difference in comfort, regardless of spring rate.

and what's the injen short ram for? If you're spending more than $50 on a peice of shinny pipe that will probably do nothing to your turbo... then, IMO, its not worth it.

and with the wheels, I wouldnt do 17x7. Stock wheels are like a 6.5" width already... why stick with teh same width? more than the diameter of the wheel, width and offset is more important. If you want 17's, I'd go with a minimum of 9" width, with an offset no higher than +20

1200? eh.. if it runs, I guesso. One of the things where I kinda need to see the pics before making a real judgement, lol. But, rust in the trunk is fixbable, front windshield replacement will probably be a good couple hundred, and for the hood latch, just go to the junkyard and pick up another one for like $10 or something... shouldnt be that much.

and for the overflow, you can patch it up with bondo, haha. I've also seen a few on the classifieds for like $30, or you can go all out baller status with the aluminum one from Circuit Sports for like $100 or something.

yes i mean the basic megan coilover kit. no struts included. i think im gonna upgrade to TEIN tho. i dont wanna go to expensive cuz the turbo set up im doing will cost a fair bit of money. i decided im not gonna do the swap and i am gonna do a top mount Garrett T3/T04E turbo with peakboost manifold and all that. and i decided against the intake. im just gonna custom do one. and as for the wheels, the specific ones i want only come in 17x7 or 18x8. to do a 18x9.5 i have to do a 5-lug conversion which costs to much. so what should i go with, the 17's or the 18's??

17x7 and 18x8 are both weak.

Honestly, I'd just save up your money for something better... its not worth getting something to later find out that they dont satisfy your needs.

im not going for high performance tho. all i want is a 240 making 250-300rwhp that looks amazing. and im going black exterior with red brake calipers, so the rims that im getting are black with a red lip. im really just going for good looks with the rims, and its either 17x7 or 18x8.

trust me... when you realize how skinney a 17x7 or 18x8 will look tucked under the fenders, you'll want to kick yourself in the arse. I'd rather have a 15x7 than a 17x7... the wheel diameter to width ratio will look better imo. and youre planning on painting your stock calipers red?

Ok adrian, this one is for you since your a big chuki fan.My '90 came with a chuki front end, but it was drooping, so I searched and found a guy who had the same problem and someone said he might have the wrong support. My question is how do you tell the two supports apart?
