The only thing you need hooked up to your intake manifold is your fuel pressure regulator, and your intake pipe. Everything else can be removed. (That means EGR, PAIR valve, and charcoal canister). I am unaware of any other emissions devices in the bay of the S13 (off the top of my head).livinglegend2100 wrote:okay so i dont want to elaborate on this because there is probably a forum i missed, but im looking to eliminate all the unneccesary emissions crap to clean up the bay in my 93 s13 fastback. ive seen posts with misc parts of the process.
but i need to know EVERYTHING i need to take out and what i cant take out. and what i need to buy in place of anything i take out..

1 week< Life expectancy of 240 with SR20< 25 years or 500,000 milesSeriously, I answered this question before. It DEPENDS on how it is treatedTC4Drifter wrote:So, I have been thinking about this a lot, and have a few more questions.
I know I sort of asked this but I didn't really get the answer I was hoping for. All cars just breakdown and aren't worth fixing eventually. What would be the life expectancy of a 240 with or without a sr20 in it? Also, is it worth it to do a engine swap, suspension upgrade, lsd, and all these other upgrades to a 240? Is this car a car I would want to keep for a awhile and how much money would I get back from doing this?. Lastly , Ihave a fun idea. My dad is restoring a 68 vette right now and he is putting in a 383 stroker engine. It is a 350 with different cam and crankshaft. It is supposed to put out around 390hp and 415ft/lbs of torque all aimed at under 4.5k rpm. I was wondering if it would be possible to put a SR20 in a 240 and upgrade it to be able to beat my dads vette at a 1/4 mile? How much would that cost and would it be reliable? Thanks for your help so far!!
doing any engine swap cost a lot money, and you never know what might go wrong with the swapped engine as well.Scuffed_ChukiCoupe wrote:Since youre on the same dam budget im on, i say stick with the Ka. When you swap a motor there is so much things you have to be prepared for financially...
congrats on getting coilovers, and congrats on not getting coilovers that suck! I'm 90% sure it goes on the bottom. The Inflicted wrote:I've got a set of Tein S-tech springs for my S14.I've already installed the springs on the front, but I have a question about the springs on the rear- they have a section that is more tightly-compressed than the other- does that section of more tightly-wound coils go at the bottom or top of the strut, or does it matter?
Carpet- noengine swap- Maybe, if you need to run new wires or something to guages but otherwise no.artforce_s13 wrote:I got 2 questions:do I need to remove my dashboard to take out my old carpet for a new one?
would the dashboard have to come off for any reason if I did a engine/transmission swap??
It was a pain getting the good dash off at the junk yard so when I put it in I wanna have to never mess with it again...lol
They are both 240's and thanks for the info!PapaSmurf2k3 wrote:Assuming both cars you are talking about are 240sx's... you bet your *** they will! Snatch them babies up. They are a VERY popular seat swap, and they bolt right in. Good find. Pat yourself on the back!
