What do you guys think? xbox has some pretty good games out, as does ps2. One thing though, I'm leaning toward ps2 just because of gt3/gt4. I doubt gt4 will come out on both. Whats you guys input?
But, would gt4 even be worth it? Is it going to be basically the exact same as the others, just more cars? Thats seemed to be the only difference in all the other GT's. I wouldnt' get a wheel or anything either. So, for just fun gaming, racing games, shoot em up games (war games, anything), which do you prefer?

I didn't think there were that many racing games on xbox out. I knew about both Project Gotham games, but what else? Are there any games like Metal of Honor Rising Sun and stuff like that? Shoot em up games basically?-

GT4 = New cars, new tracks, new physics system, refined game play = The greatest racing game ever (again), only on PS2 
I like Xbox, and halo is one of my favorit FPSers, but frankly the controllers suck arse, and none of their racing games come close to the Gran turismo series. After having my 1st playstation in service for 6 years, I know my PS2 will last me another 2 at least (ordered it pre-release so i had it the first day it came out).
Between me and my bro's, we own gamecube, Xbox and PS2, each has their highlights, ps2 is my favorit though...

gamecube: new mario cart is awesome, mario party is fun stuff with friends, smash brothers melee (nuff said bout that one)
xbox: best online service probably (only free for one year tho then its like 10 bux a month), good games are starting to become more fruitful... oh yeah and one more little thing called HALO (best multiplayer game ever... to me and my friends atleast....)
ps2: most ur friends have this one, GT4 will be worth it, still has best assortment of games, if ur an RPG fan ps2 has some good ones.....

project gotham 1 and 2. sega gt 2002 and soon to be released sega gt online, midtown madness 3, the moto GP series which are also very fun, rallysport challenge 1/2, and some others. plus halo 2 will be amazing especially with xbox live (i suggest getting broadband and live if you like to play games about 3 days outa the week)
oh, and i dont like the regular xbox controllers either but i just bought a bunch of the smaller type-s controllers which i like alot
and for shooter games xbox has some good ones. ghost recon and ghost recon:island thunder, and the brand new rainbow six 3 is awesome. u can use your communicator headset to send commands to the computer players (like 50-sum different commands)

the GT series is alot like the corvette, sure you can pass it off as just the same old car year after year, but its winning formula along with continual updates keeps it far ahead of the rest of the pack in its price range.

I think the ps2 online service is free if you get the adapter. Anyways I'd go with the ps2 great games, gt4 is gonna kick ***. And I'd rather play shooter games on the computer, but that's just me. But the xbox has it's advantages, better graphics, (doesn't it have 4 controller ports built in?), online ready. I'd go with the ps2, but that's just me.

I bought the XBox only for Halo. Then Halo came out on PC. I like the PC version better. Though I still play the Xbox version for the cooperative play. Halo 2 will be out about April next year. I prefer PC games myself, but since Microsoft keeps choosing to bring Halo out on the Xbox first, I guess I wil keep the Xbox around.
As far as Graphics, I read somewhere that Nvidia may be providing the graphics hardware for Sony's next console. ATI may be the next provider for Micorsoft's console. It's been several months since I read this and it wasn't confirmed yet, but both companies were looking into it at the time. Not sure if there have been any developments since.

I have all 3 systems between me and my roommates (I own the xobx). I think that all of them have their pros and cons. The problem is that each system has some games that I absolutely love to play that are exclusives. PS2 has the GT series and the Final Fantasy series. Xbox has Halo and Project Gotham. Gamecube has Smash Bros. Melee and Mario Party.

^^PS2.5...Sony is trying to play catch-up on the Xbox. That should definitely be a sign of which system is the 'best' out there right now.
Xbox is definitely better...graphics/sound/online gaming.
Sony does have more games, but that's just the old case of whichever you'd prefer - quantity over quality OR quality over quantity
