Dude you are lame...you cant even have a debate without bringing in grammar or name calling or defending a prodcut just because it is the thing to do. I wont even respond to your feeble attempts at insults. If you would like me to forward you my enlisted performance reports, you will see that my communication (verbal and written) is excellent. I can also forward you my reading/grammar test I had to take in the military and I had the highest possible score you can get. This is the internet and a message board. Who in the hell is going to type perfect all the time. Even mods have mistakes in their post every now and again. But I guess when you ARENT contributing to the actual car part of this bnoard, you have time to pick out my spelling errors. you are calling me ignorant, yet you cant have an arguement without straying from the facts. You proved your point with links, are you happy. GC has outsold Xbox and has 3 top 10 games. Okay...do you see GC in the thread topic??? No he said pick between PS2 or Xbox and I am the guy who cant read...LOL You are liking like a fanboy does. I call it like I see it. That is not an insult

LOL I'm not the only guilty party here. You were laying it on so thick, I had to get a buzzsaw to cut through your posts. But hey, if Gamecube games don't blow your skirt up, that's fine by me. You brought this on yourself by repeatedly calling me a lame fanboy. Me? Name-calling? Uhh...read all my posts again, that's right, not once did I resort to any name-calling. But you did though.

And yes, I did notice it was between the XBox and PS2 which is why I suggested the GC be considered. Obviously the original poster isn't a hardcore gamer like yourself and I thought the system might suit his needs quite well (he also mentioned that he didn't have broadband).

If they were feeble, then why get so hot and bothered by it all? Don't take things personally man. I see you've gone out of your way to sift through my posts, how thoughtful. I also noticed how you cleaned up your writing, good work. Despite how my posts come off, I'm not getting hot and heated here, just having a good time. About contributing to the car parts, I'm just warming up. :D

he was sifting through your posts? you were the one who took the time to point out each of his spelling mistakes which serves no purpose other than to piss him off. its a message board and nobody on here except for you cares about grammar errors and i have no problems reading his posts that have errors. the fact that you have to add a little creative comment about his grammar to each post shows your immaturity. The GC is fun for a few party games with your friends but besides that id only leave the GC to the younger kids. GC just doesnt have enough variety in their games. i dont see any decent FPS or racing games (besides that mario kart game which i consider a party game), and with the major manufactuers of sports games pulling out of the GC market GC is pretty much left with party games that the majority of GC owners bought in the first place.

Ever heard of a J-O-K-E? I was ready to drop it and just play nice. And yes, he did sift through my posts, all 15 of them hence his comment about me not adding to the car threads.

I admit I'm an infantile adult but did you ever stop to think why I responded the way I did? He was condescending towards people who owned Nintendo products, calling anyone who disagrees with him lame *** fanboys. Now I don't have a problem with someone critiquing a system subjectively, but come on, there's no need to diss people who don't necessarily agree with you. That's all I have to say.

theres also no need to diss people who dont spell check their writing on an informal message board. i dont think the GC can compare to xbox or PS2. theres not much the GC has that the xbox or PS2 doesnt but there are alot of games and features that you get with a xbox compared to a GC

It's certainly not as harmful as disparaging people who are attracted to games one deems "childish." But hey, fair enough. In no way do I think the XBox is the weakest of the bunch, it has it's strong points. I just think it's games are just a rehash of PC games, the rest are multiplatform titles that can be had on the other systems. It has nice FPS shooters but doesn't hold a candle to the sheer size and quality of PC shooters (which look better and play better on my PC- not of a fan of the XBox controller, have ATI 9800 graphics board). But hey if that's your cup of tea, more power to you.

HOW WAS I CONDESCENDING TOWARDS PEOPLE WHO HAVE NINTENOD PRODUCTS WHEN IN MY POST I SAY I HAVE ONE???? I have owned every nintendo console whether portable or home since 1985.:rolleyes I said more than once in my post that I had one and enjoyed playing it every now and again, overall I think it is another piss poor effort by Nintendo (see N64). I still spent my money on it. I dont have a problem with people disagreeing with me, it is just lame asses like you who bring personal stuff into it...like someones grammar....:confused:Cant even argue in a decent fashion. Never once did I say "hey you are dumb if you own a gamecube." THAT, my friend is condescending and flaming. I gave my assessment of it from my point of view and thats that. Is it any different that many people who CONSTANTLY bash on Hondas on these boards....NO do they get flamed to hell and back....NO. I dont win a prize if this guy buys an XBox. I could care less. He asked for opinions and I gave mine

i've got a decent computer but id still use the xbox over the PC. reason is with a console things are a lot more simple, you dont have to install things and dont have to worry about viruses and things of that nature. plus i have other family members that use the computer. with xbox im playing on a big screen tv with surround sound system compared to the computer. also playing xbox online is much easier than playing online with PC. you just click on a friend or server and your in, you don't have to worry about all the set-up, IPs, or people hacking. only real disadvantage i can see is that you have to use a controller joystick over the mouse which pretty much doesnt matter cause every one else you are playing is also using it.

Ummm...let's see, how about by accusing them of being mindless lemmings (or as you put it so nicely, fanboys). There's more than a hint of elitism in the tone of most of your posts, as evidenced in your first response to my suggestion and other's responses in this very thread. And need I remind you for the millionth time, I'm certainly not drumming up one company over another. Last time I checked, Nintendo wasn't flooding up my mailbox with checks. Then you accused me of talking out of my *** and typing jargon when in fact, I had the facts straight. I felt that in response to 94Silviase's needs, the Gamecube should be given a look. I recommend he take a look at all the systems and choose the product he sees fit but you didn't even think GC was worth a look. I just hope that he considers the GC and selects a system without being swayed by personal biases, hope he's satisfied with whatver system he buys.

PGR2 is a fun game. I think Sega GT (waiting for GT Online to come out) is slightly more "realistic", but PGR2 is a lot of fun. The online play is probably the best part of the game, so if you have broadband, run out and get Xbox Live.

I got Splinter Cell (only $20) and Beyond Good and Evil for Christmas this year. If I could only stop playing Project Gotham for a few mintues... ;)

The reviews on it were ****ty. I have never played CS on PC but I dont see the hype. They stripped the Xbox CS to basically be a Xbox live game. NO single player. I hate the fact that you have one life and cant get back in the game until everyone is dead. Also there is no basic deathmatch. It is set bomb, diffuse bomb. Compared to other FPS, I think counterstrike sucks monkey balls. Biggest waste of 50 bucks to me. I dont liek the overall layout of the game. If you want it at a reduced price, you can get mine. I played it 3 times since I got it the day it was available. I would prefer to play Ghost Recon or Unreal or Rainbow Six.

You really should play CS on PC before you make your opinions. I'll explain some of the strong points and respond about some of the things you think you will not like. Each game lasts only about 3 minutes at most since they put in time limits. And it ends quicker if everyone is dead or one of the teams completes the objective. And as far as objectives are concerned, they do not have to be met to win. Every match is essentially a deathmatch. The objectives give the game purpose and urgency. If a bomb is set by a terrorlst, the counter-terrorlst has usually 30 seconds to try and get to the bomb and defuse it. And based on your post, I think you'll be surprised at how quickly a 16 vs 16 round ends. And unlike other FPS games I've played, CS rewards you for winning and staying alive. When you win, you get more money than the other team to buy better weapons. You kill someone and you get more money. You rescue a hostage and get more money. etc, etc, etc. I enjoy playing BF1942 occasionally, but find that I am just trying to run from a spawn point to the enemy most of the time. And at that either getting picked off by some sniper, or getting blown up by a plane or tank, etc. And at that, it doesn't tell you which direction you are being shot from. I think if I received a non-fatal gunshot wound, I'd have a pretty good idea where it came from.

I will say that I prefer FPS games on PC. Most other gamers will agree. I'm sure most reviewers are avid gamers who have and probably still play CS on PC. The experiences will be different.

If you've ever been paintballing, think of CS more like that. Short quick games. A variety of different maps and games. There are a lot of maps that have been made for this game. Even some that are small enough and laid out a lot like a speedball course in paintball. CS is very fast paced, unlike most other FPS games. Halo uses relatively small maps like CS does, but HALO is too easy to be accurate(no recoil) and I find myself dead accidentally a lot when a vehicle gets hit with a rocket and comes flying into me.

I truly recommend you pick up a copy for PC. Last I saw, it is $29.00 for the PC version. And it is still probably one of the most highly played internet games if not the most. And I'll tell you what, there is a reason for this. Not that I can guarantee you'll like it, but so far, I've been playing it for 3 years and I still play quite often. I can't say the same for any of my other games.

Yeah but I dont play PC games. I dont like the mouse and keyboard style of play. Never have. Always been a console player. I know in a way it is essentially deathmatch but the games are too short for my taste. I play it occasionally but it wasnt worth 50 bucks for Xbox. Maybe when it beoomes a greatest hit for 19.99 I would feel like it would be worth it.

And as far as how much would I sell it for....I would beat whatevr they sell it used for right now...need money for a turbo...LOL

Edit...this is my 1000th post....yippee

Wow, that's a first. But, no worries, I know a lot of people who used to only like game controllers. I've converted them. :) I'll tell you this. The mouse and keyboard are probably the most realistic type of controls we have aside from pickingup an actual gun and shooting it at the screen. The movements of the mouse correlates to a distance of mouse movement rather than timing and speed like with a game controller. You probably wouldn't like it at first, but once you get used to it, you'll find it's more accurate and a lot faster. In console games, or any single player FPS, it's rare that you have to check around two corners very quickly. Particularly when you come through the entrance of an open area and check both sides for the pposition, it helps a lot to be able to turn and look each direction very quickly. Multiplayer games tend to require more of this. Even at the fastest look setting on HALO for Xbox, I can't make the moves I do on HALO for PC. And if you enjoy driving the Warthog on HALO for XBOX, you'll love it on PC. You can look in different directions so fast that the Warthog can do some wonderful powerslides.

And if you love graphics, just one look at HALO on PC, makes the wonderful graphics of HALO on XBOX to look rather...well, like crap. PC's can enjoy a much higher resolution. I though HALO looked great on XBOX. The PC version blew it away.

I'm not necessarily trying to convert you. Just saying you might wanna try CS out on PC. I really have no doubt in my mind that you won't enjoy it. Perhaps when CS:Condition Zero hits the shelves, you can pick up a copy(I think it's scheduled for April now). It's supposed to have some of the best AI the gaming community has seen. Even better that that of HALO. Which has been proclaimed as the best so far and in my opinion is pretty good.

You can't compare PC games graphics to console games tv graphics. That is not fair. Really good TV's produce a resolution of 600x800. The average hardcore pc gamer moniters produce atleast 1024x768 resolution minimal. So of course a pc game is going to look better. Hook that PC up to a TV and I'll bet you a hundred bucks that the xbox , that is optimized for TV , will look better than the PC that is hooked up to the same TV. Whew , I'm so tired after typing that run on sentence. lol.

Sure I can. The high resolution of a monitor is just another benefit of playing on a PC. It's not as if I am playing my PC games on my TV...

Hey pc guy^^ the thread is , " xbox or ps2"!! Not " $2500 pc kills all". We know that already!!

My friend said , 375-400 dollars for a modified Xbox. A swicthable mod chip (xbox live) is fifty bucks more.

Actually, Even at the time I bought my PC, I would have spent less than $1,000. I spent a little less than this only because I reused certain components but you don't need an ultrapowerful machine to play PC games. You just need to know where to spend the money.

And why not flame the guy who brought up the Gamecube too? Or do you have something against PC's? :)
