I work as a computer consultant and bring home a little over $3000 a month after taxes. I bought all of my car parts and what not on credit, and now I'm paying it off.

I didnt work a actual on-site job till I was 18. I just did email tech support and such. Working Sux. Not working is the best thing there is. It's what i'm working towards in life. I've just gotta figure out how I can get money and not work at the same time... I need some sort of business I guess... If anyone wants to start a business of some sort i'm game...

Phax, do you have kids? Married? How screwed do you get on taxes? It sad seeing 2100 turn into 1500 every paycheck. I wish I had some way to lower my taxes.

I'm 21 years old and I'm a Manager at a company which uses Cingular Wireless as a franchise but I work my *** off.... work 11 hours a day and 6 days a week. I'm usually on desk, browsing NICO, and other sites. Bad thing besides the hours I work is the pay, I get $600 a week after taxes plus commission so its $600 + a week. Also going to be transfered to a better location where there will be more sales out so hopefully make more off commission and mayb e a raise? hehe

But yeah, I live alone, pay the rent, bills, and dont own a car... Im trying to save money to get another 240sx after I wrecked my old one... but I cant really get around to save up money :( I'm pretty bad with managing my own money flow... :(

My dad owns a test and repair smog shop (had it for 28 years) and I've been going down there since I was in 7th grade (12th now). So now, I'm still like an apprentice, but I do most of the stuff myself so almost a regular mechanic.. I get 10/hour and work like 47 hours a week during the summer when there is no school. When I have school I'm down there everyother day from 1:30 to 5 (get out of school at 1:30, close shop at 5). I enjoy it a lot and if I choose another career it will always benefit me to know how to fix a car. :)

I work for a commercial printing company. I am in sales and business development. (http://www.moodygraphics.com) Pay is pretty good, paid for the car and all the stuff for the swap with cash. Saved up for the better part of a year. it also helps that I bought the coupe for a whopping $600. Right now things are tight bevause I am getting ready to buy my first home. Ouch those things are expensive! I will probably buy the wheels and tires on the plastic though, but I should get those paid off in a few months

I manage my parents cafe/bookshop in a SUPER busy area. Make 9/hr + tips, which aren't too much. Probably net around $11/hr on average, but parking fees are astronomical. Drop it back down to 10.

Hmm i can realte to you 240sxer, im 24 working as an accountant for a real estate company making $23 an hour, But im still broke, I dont know how. I live with my gf but rent free, our parents take care of rent and all the utilities. So the only expenses are like, cell phone food and other misc crap, yet im broke and can hardly save for parts, but when i get parts I get them best out there, finally got my 300zx brake swap parts, (all the top of the line parts) , my gf dad is mechanic so all my installs are free, but he has problems with this brake swap, he cant fit the lines so i think i have to pay someone to get it done. That money is going to have to come out of Tein Type HE fund which i was $400 away now im about $600 away. I guess my tastes are expensive.

I'm a research assistant in a biomedical lab at ga. tech. I make $10 /hour and work about 15 hours a week. I help make 3d computer model reconstructions of connections created by surgeons in kids with congenital heart defects. I had saved up a lot of money last semester until my team made it to the final four. I spent so much money fallowing the team both to st. louis for the sweet sixteen and san antonio for the final four. It was well worth it though I was the first person to get to st louis so I got the first seat in the first row at about the free throw line. Then in San Antonio they screwed up the ticket distribution so I was the last row of students (row 17 behind the basket) and people who showed up and got there tickets in the will call window were in the front row.

I'm the receiving lead at Sears here in town, full time. I'm also a full time college student majoring in the field of aerospace technologies. Between my car and girlfriend I have no spare cash.

Ya.. It's harsh.. I have no kids, not married. I get ripped by taxes. A dude who works with me doing the same thing making the same thing gets money taken out for insurance and a bunch of other stuff that I don't and I saw his check and it was a couple 100 more than mine, even with his stuff being taken out. It sux.

It's so true that water seeks it's own level. I got a huge raise when I got my current job, and my cash flow isnt much higher, I just spend more, and don't even really notice it. I did save enough money for a GT25R with a Tial 38mm wastegate in just a month of saving. ya, I'm broke, but it proves that I can save 1000 a paycheck if I just try.

I think i'll have to make at least 100,000 to not be broke and live paycheck to paycheck.

Agriculture research assistant here, $8.00 / hr. with (almost) guaranteed 40 hour weeks. Gotta love working outside too. :)

The only downside to the job is that I'm located in Western WA, therefore, you have to put up with the rain. But 75 degree days like today are always awesome to work in.

Military. I'm in the USAF stationed currently at Goodfellow AFB in BFE Texas. I'm an E-4, so my pay is pretty low, so I basically live like a bum until I feel I'm done with my car.

Wow! Quite a variety of employment here on NICO... Good to learn a little more about you guys.

I'm a Special Investigator for the state of AZ... Crappy pay for my skills and education, BUT, the benefits are good and it's not so stressful to where I can't manage NICO and BRM at the same time....

Three kids, a mortgage and a home-based business takes GOOD care of the tax issue.

Setting up a sole proprietorship is the smartest thing you guys can do to reduce the hit at tax time (besides getting married and having kids). :)

I sell DirecTV for 9/hr plus commission. I made $1400 last month and would have made $1600 this month if I sold just 1 more warranty. But at least I still get my hourly rate. No tien for my baby this month. Maybe next month :(

U.S. ARMY, dont pay rent, water, electric, phone, food, gas (cant drive in korea). Had 3500 saved up for ka-t till my unit found out were going to Iraq now i got 1384 after buying my own goodies for my weapon and uniform. pay sucks im an E-3 almost at the bottom get treated that way too, they put me in a completely different job then what i joined for so my hours are all over (whenever they feel like making me work i.e. 1800-2000, then -0130-0200, then 0300-0330 etc.. all in the same night.

I wouldnt rather do anything else in the world (except mabye dictator) When i get back from Iraq im going to spend about 8-9000 on my 240.

I own a liquor store, ironically I don't drink. The famous rule "Don't get high on your own supply".
