Very interesting posts guys. I agree with whoever said to live at home for as long as you can. I'm 31 now. I've got a degree and a "good" job, but really, I ran the numbers and I kid you not, I have less spending money now than I did when I was in school, living at home and working part time in a restaurant. I put away a set amount each check for savings and retirement, then I pay the bills, and then I'm freaking broke at that point. Don't even get to buy anything for the car, besides gas! Expenses rise to meet (or beat) income. It's a vicious cycle. Avoid it if you can.

The only drawback is that you have to listen to the 9th grade BS he said she said that goes on... It's just like General Hospital.

Very few of them are "cool" :(

<-- 21 years old, I'm an EMT and trying to get a job in a local hospital ER as a patient tech. I'm taking pre-med classes after just having graduated as a philosophy and psychology major at Boston University. Still living with the rents, soaking up as much free rent/food as possible before I get kicked out and forced to pay for EVERYTHING myself.

Ditto to hot nurses/doctors/techs/whatever in the hospitals... theres something super sexy about a hot girl in scrubs with a stethascope around her kneck and her hair tied up. mmmmmm

Stuff I get from swap meets... Mostly server related stuff and high end amplifiers. Right now I have a mainstreet 3600 bandwidth manager that retails for like 1200...and I bought for 10$ :). I have a NAD amp and tuner I may put up if I don't decide to keep it myself.

And jdmfreak, that just depends on how driven you are to sell. You see, i pretty much only sell when I need money, but if you dedicate yourself to it, you can get rich pretty fast. My brother knows a guy who made something like a million in one year (granted it wasn't all profit).

Thats cool. My pops wants to get into the ebay thing. He ordered some booklet and other stuff on selling on ebay. I think you go on a web site and click on what you want to sell. Then you get to keep the profits of the things you sell. You also dont pay for what you dont sell. IDK how good this system this is cuz my pops didnt follow through with it.

it's pretty simple...If you have a credit card it's easier....when you want to sell something you just fill something like a registration form online.

I once saw a PSG-1 Japanese sniper rifle on ebay for a litte over $500 with no reserve. Not sure if it sold though. I bet my brother that I can find almost anything on ebay. He said PSG-1(Watches me play Metal Gear Solid). So I typed it in and next thing I know there's $5 in my pocket.

Would you "deliver" some adderall 20mg or perkoset 10mg to my door? That would send some car money your way...:pface

My friend took a perkaset in school(some kid gave it to him and told him to try it). Next thing you know, he was acting all stipid. Pretty funny IMO.

As for ebay, Ive seen guns, swords and p0rn on there plenty of times. Most are air soft guns, but some are not. For p0rn, just type it the word or something p0rn related and see what you get. A lot of it is posters though.

Aside from my full time job. I also sell parts on ebay, on my spare time, Im an Authorized dealer for Tanabe, so I sell some Tanabe parts every now and then. I also use to use to sell Car Stereo I was an authorized dealer for Pioneer, Sony, etc. so I sold them on ebay. It was going great in 1999-2001, I was making about $400-800 a week. after that, every other freaggin idiot started selling what i sold and they lowered the prices so I had to lower the prices. And then they lowered the prices, untill no one was making money anymore, and thats when everything went straight to hell.

Yea so anyways now I just sell some parts on my spare time when.

^ so true...ebay is great if you have a business no one else is ripping off of. And it's pretty easy....when I saw that infomercial I was laughing at them for trying to sell information which is free and you can do on your own in 5 mins.

and p0rn is allowed I think but it's under "adult" category I think. A lot of piracy and other illegals were being sold until ebay took notice and started changing some rules.

before I took my current 6 month excursion into Pikes Peak region of Colorado I worked at a Subaru dealership making $40k a year, did installs on mustangs (nitrous, ATi/paxton superchargers, exhausts, fuel systems), and was a junk buyer. I bought and sold engines/trans, misc interior, suspensions, cars - whole or parts to people in need. Doing good until I decided to come out here where im making like $10.00 an hour for Target as a manger. Well not for long. only like another month then I return back to Dallas, Tx so I can clean up my shop so I can start up my parts business again. hehe. All this and im only 22 but been out of high school since I 16. Been the automotive industry since then as a repair tech, performance consult, and sales manager. :)

I am 22 and work 35 hrs a week (summers) as a Vet technician assistant making 8.75/hr. When I was 19, I mad 12.75/hr at Samsung and enjoyed every last penny of it. I try not to spend all my money on my car to keep my girlfriend happy.(happy mate, life is great) married version(happy wife, happy life) If I didn't have a girlfriend, about 95% of my spare money would go to my car, but I chose her over my car. Still live at home and going to college so cash flow is not bad during summer.

Mods(3 yrs worth): Eibach Pro kit, KYB GR2 struts, whiteline T/C rod bushings, SPL rear subrame collars, front strut tower brace, Z32 VLSD, AVS ES100 225/50/16

Mmmm pizza delivery =) 5.65 an hour, .65 per house, tips that add up to 15-30 an hour depending on how much people want to stiff me. Plus the engine mileage doesn't matter all that much when I know I'm either going to rebuild the KA or replace it with a CA.
