Nope, I'll be taking last place :P I haven't tested anything, don't know what car I'll use, etc, etc.

Btw, I'd like a photoshoot at SSR7 after all the races are done. No specific car, just bring whatever you like best.

The Zonda was faster than I thought! The Nissan was really prone to breaking lose.

it was fast at a cost, that being traction obviously. I was confident in Daytona because I could get up to 220+ under its own power, but with all aero down to minimum. I couldnt believe how fast the tires wore and how much traction they lost by the third lap. I couldnt even get a straight line going by the 8th lap of that race. It was the same for high speed ring.

The reason why I didnt choose an ALMS car was because I felt that adding 200 kgs threw the balance off by too much and made it difficult to drive thru turns. On top of that I would have had top decrease the power by 200 or so hp. So I chose the slower Zonda but that could handle better. Unfortunatey tire wear got me in every race. :squint:

Hmmm karting. Very fun. I hope the curse of spinning won't land on me this time.
I can tell you what track I dont want... Cote d' Azur. lol jk, just giving you crap
I hope to be there

My tires were completely shot by the 4th lap at the HS Ring -_-

That was fun, though. Definitely enjoyed it! SSR7, especially.

You mean #5?

I am glad you guys had fun. I try to pick tracks that add some thing special to the particular event. Karting will be interesting, especially Trial Mountain Circuit (Reverse); I couldn't get a clean lap so it will require the brakes as well as knowledge of the tarmac. It adds a little something special.

I have a lot of cars so it doesn't hurt me as much but I try to make the races cheap over all; so far this has been the most expensive.

1st Ironman Racing Series was around ~150k, the GT500 Series was ~1.1million, FWD was ~55k, Off Road was ~500k and the High Speed was any where from 2.2 million to 5 million. Luckily Karts will be free :chuckle:

Correct me again, and it's the ban hammer :squint:

Should be fun though, I seriously can't wait for this next one!

It definitely evens the playing field! Just remember these things only do 70mph...a long course with multiple laps will be boring.

Time to get practising. Ive been B-Specing like crazy, time to hit the cart hard. I havnt driven a cart in a really long time.

Top gear test track is a lot of fun in a cart. Possible No. 6

For tires, do you mean sports soft?

IDK about Top Gear. Joe nailed it on the head. As for the 4 I picked, I have raced about 10 tracks and my top 4 I chose. At first I was going to do the Nurbergring 24HR (13 minutes long) but it wasn't as fun as my top 4. As for the tires, Ian I have no idea what comes on the Karts, but we are using those.

I wouldn't be too sure about that, the race looks like it is going to take place on Saturday...

kinda off topic, but I have an interesting idea for a future race (or maybe instead of carting). What about a race with any car you've ever owned, past or present? We can set a PP value at a known limit so you can mod your best car up to race specs and keep it competitive among the group. (Just in case you've owned a really fast car!)

We could include other limits such as no race modified vehicles. Unlimited HP, no weight restrictions, just use PP as a regulation...say 500-600ish?

It would be cool to see what cars you guys come up with and who would take 1st!

Also, let's open up the use of car aids...it would be nice to not have to worry about spinning out. If you're a good driver, they only slow you down anyway.

Thoughts?

I already thought of that, I call it:
PP600 Gran Prix

I wanted a no holds bars best in show kind of set up. But doing this won't give us the best cars, just the best setups. For instance, you can use a Nascar vehicle while some one else uses a GTR. Now if we use tracks like Indy and High Speed Ring for example, although the Nascar and GTR have the same PP rating, the Nascar will most likely be best equipped. It becomes either a balancing act for those choosing the races or the cars.

As for the car aids...
That is sensitive. I wouldn't of won some races if some one didn't crash up ahead of me. So yes it will make it less difficult but it will take away the advantages some might have from practicing, knowing their cars and being disciplined. Overall I like it the way we have it with ABS and Traction Control but if you guys feel that we need to turn on more, then I won't mind.

Agreed across the board. Although, if you make it street cars only, the PP restirction brings the cars into very close specs. Then just choose a variety of tracks, some tight and technical, and some fast and sweeping.

As for aids. I like it the way it is. I have won and lost races due to spins. Its what makes it exciting.

For cart tires. I only said Sports soft because that is all it will let me get. I dont think you can buy anything else, but I didnt want to show up and get walloped because Im wrong.

Cool, I like it! I thought we could make it more personal by using cars owned currently or previously...of course it would be by the honor system. But I doubt anyone has owned a GTR or NASCAR...and even so, a modded 240sx up to 600PP could run with a GTR.

Agree on the spinning out thing...usually it's me! D'ohh

Everyone want to do karting??? Not feeling as excited as my previous 2 event preps. Maybe I just have a sour taste in my mouth from the advanced karting race...

I think carting will be fun, because its going to be a spin fest for everyone. Those things are so touchy at the limit. Should be exciting.

As for the Owned car idea. It could be cool, but I think 600 pp might be a bit high.

ERRRR....
I missed that; sorry Joe. yeah I got everything but the part about racing with cars you have owned, that's why I mentioned NASCARS. Great idea! I will be running a 95' S14 haha. I like it, Joe you are responsible for the name of the event.

Every one post what cars you have owned. This way I can come up with a PP rating we all fall under. I might go Honda Odyssey.

Hmm, rather limited for the game.

Pathfinder - won't be on there
Versa - may want to consider using the overseas equals (Renault Megane is probably the closest to this)
S13
G35 Coupe
RX-7 FC

Oh and the "Run What You Pwnd" series sounds good.

Lets see....how about: "NICO members' Rides shootout!"

Having them fully modified would be fun, just need to cap the PP to make it even. I just spent almost all of my in-game cash on a Toyota GT1...I have $3 left! Hopefully, some of these will show up in the used car market :squint:

My past cars, relevant for the game:

76 Chevy Camaro RS
92 Mitsubishi 3000GT VR4 (92-96 will work, small changes in 97-98)
97 Pontiac Formula (94-97 camaro or firebird will work)
2002 Mitsubishi Lancer ES
2005 G35 coupe
2009 G37 Sedan

Here's the in-game list of possible cars:

Chevrolet Camaro Z28 ‘69
Mitsubishi 3000GT VR-4 Turbo (J) ‘95
Mitsubishi GTO Twin Turbo MR ‘95
Chevrolet Camaro Z28 Coupe ‘97
Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution VII GT-A ‘02
Infiniti G35 Coupe ‘06
Nissan SKYLINE Sedan 350GT Type SP ‘06

I may need to trade someone to get a few...

WHY! You get that car gifted in the B-Spec Le Mans 24h!

biggie wrote:Oh and the "Run What You Pwnd" series sounds good.
Joe, Biggie just took your job :rotfl
So far I like that title the most!

Yeah, that is what I am looking forward to the most, a differentiation of cars.

Reminds me that I've recently decided to buy every Nissan/Infiniti in the game. Its a challenge. Have all the ones from the New Dealerships except a couple of the $950K race cars. Now just been searching in the used car area.

Im kind of limited to a 97 240sx and a same year escort (not racing that) that I have personally owned. :squint:

600PP for the 240 = spinning every turn. I kindof agree with no aids for the most part. Its a better challenge but as we saw last week, some may be needed for the fast cars. Or, tire wear off. I think thats a better choice

Anyone have a 97 z28 they want to trade?

500-550pp seems to be about right...most start around 450.

I couldn't believe my Infiniti g35 or Nissan 350gt sedan wouldn't install a Turbo or supercharger! Both maxed out in the 540s.

-Ran 4 of the 5 last night...the G35 handles the best. Tested with 500pp for the Infiniti and Nissan Skyline 350. The 3000GT is HEAVY! Just need the F-body to finish testing.
