Carting is going to be heated.

What's the next event. Tell me tell me tell me tell me tell me. GT5 has become my crack as of late. Don't deny a guy his fix.

Just so everybody knows, for the event next week, I will be making the move back to a wheel. After 2 events on a controller. Im looking forward to being back in a car seat. I know I proved, at least to myself, that it provides very little real world advantage against a skilled controller user.

I wonder if we should initiate some sort of ballast system for repeat winners. Say if someone wins an event overall twice in a row, that person is pelilized 50 kg for the next event. If they continue to win 5 kg will be added for every continuous win. Any loss will remove 5 kg until the base + 50 is reached and a single loss thereafter will remove the original weight. Just an idea.

I like the idea but enforcing it is difficult. If you guys promise to follow them I don't mind running it that way.

Eh I was posting from my phone. You caught me with a ninja post.

If I get a chance, I will run a few laps with and without ballast. Just to see.

By any chance Ian can you do some laps with and with out the wheel?

Also do B-Spec Dream Car Championship, it's good for 1 million credits. It takes about an hour. Unfortunatley I can't send any cars because I need to dup the F2007, the 15 million credit Lambo and 20 million credit Ford. The way PD set up trading now is that I can only send one car per PS3 so I used to get 2 cars a day, I can only do .5 cars a day.

I'm in for the weekend race ;) So are we still doing a PP restriction? It kinda screwed me up for the last one...

May be ok for PP this time. The update in the middle of the week last week screwed it up for this past weekend (tire PP changes made everyone higher PP than before).

I need to work on B spec. I have hardly done it all. I know its good for money, but I am often time limited, and id rather be racing than watching.

I think I've got my car picked out. Ill rip a few laps with each. No tis while using the wheel.

Just out of curiosity, what aids are you guys normally using? Does anyone use active steering the diving line or asm when we anent racing online?

B-Spec is easy money. Setup your PS3 for a endurance race and come back 9 hours later. Or you can setup some of your drivers online and earn money with out doing anything. It's win-win.

As for driving aids I use Traction Control @ 1 and ABS @ 1. Just to help me out in emergency situations but for the most part not intrusive.

I created the restrictions before the patch so tires didn't affect PP. Interesting move by PD.

Actually it did, before the patch tires affected PP, the new update they took that off. So we set our cars up with Dirt/Snow tires it reduced PP. After the update they all went up in PP because the reduction from tires was removed.

Hence we had to turn PP restriction off in the last series and just go with hp and weight.

I play with a wheel .
I use ABS 1. I've used the driving line occasionally but I find that I really don't learn the track very well with it on so it's off now.

In-game saves is in the works. Hopefully its pretty flexible and you can save whenever rather than having stupid restrictions.

havent practiced yet but Im hoping its not so restricting. The last rally one when I was practicing, I had to add 100kgs and decrease the power to like 80%. It was so heavy I couldnt stop or turn, and on dirt.

I usually have everything off except TCS at 5 or 0 on dirt, and ABS at 1. It makes it more fun and infact faster. It makes it more fun. I think I turn active steering and recovery etc, on if Im racing a Nascar or a F1 car, especially on a slow tight turned course like Grand Valley Speedway where the car wants to spin every corner

Thats how I am also. I almost feel like the driving line throws me off my rhythm, making me slower.

I dont have a high enough level to do the endurance races on B spec. Gots to do MOAR!!

Bad news, (or good news maybe), Im out for this weekend. I have to go to a Technician appreciation dinner, and I will be there much of Sunday afternoon and evening. Biggie, this is your chance to pad your lead. I was starting to nip at your heals for the overall points lead.

dammit I need to come back. I hope to jebus I can save in betweeen series races. Kinda too late now though. I jsut finished the F1 champ race which almost pissed me off. Got third in Cote d' Azur and skipped the last race but still first overall. I guess I need to get those 2 races to get the prize (lvl 21 ticket??), for all gold in extreme races.

Ian, beginner, amatuer, and pro, you kind of have to babysit through to make sure they dont F up stupidly, because they will. After that you can usually just let the game go by itself with little interference.

I still hate the fact at how stupid BSpec driver are. It takes my lvl 29-32 driver 2.5 hrs for Indy Speedway, in the X1! They never pass easily and sometimes spin out trying to pass, adding lots of time each lap. Theres just no reason it should take that long if I can do it in ~1.5 hrs or less. The countdown when pitting is too fast and if I miss it, they go without gassing up so I end up back in the pits refueling the very next lap, taking even more time. Nothing has changed from the start, I still really hate BSpec.

I don't think you guys realize how easy it is to fly by the lower levels of B-Spec now that you can share your drivers online.

On my second & third accounts I went from level 0 to level 25 by clearing 700,000 in total prize money (15,000-20,000 per race).
  • You start with one driver and do like 5 races, collect your rewards and boom you are a level 5 B-Spec. Now you can have 2 drivers.
The 2 drivers do 5-6 races and now you are level 10 B-Spec and you can have 3 total drivers.
Races with those three drivers and after 6-7 races you can get to level 15 B-Spec and now you have 4 drivers...
This was the process I did for 2 extra accounts @ level 0 B-Spec and now I am at lvl 25 in both. It took 3 days, or a total of 10 or so hours. Plus other people on your friends list can select your drivers and rank them up for you. It is a no brainer.

If you don't have all your B-Spec drivers shared for your friends then you are losing money and EX. Share them all online :yesnod

I haven't seen anything, but are we going to restrict X1 and Formula GT cars? Maybe the weight restriction does that already.

Tuning a few cars last night I couldn't come close to the 750PP.

What cars were you using? I planed on this event being an expensive one. I planed on using Group C cars like Bentley Speed 8, Toyota GT-One, Nissan 89c, Nissan 92c etc. I would go back to the drawing board. Take the car with the highest PP and add some HP and ballast.

I would look for cars that are a minimum of 900kgs (adding 200kgs later down the line) and have the highest PP. Then tweak from there.

And yes I set up the weight in order to exclude Escudos, Mazda Furais, X1s, Formula GTs or any other absolutely insane cars.

EDIT:
Just did some tweaking... You're right biggie. The best I could get is 692PP, should I change the regulation to 700pp instead of 750pp?

Up to you, but the power/weight will keep everyone under 700PP it seems. Believe I was around 68x PP or so on a couple cars.

Yup...me too. Either the cars are way too light or not enough HP to get to 750pp.

I have put my drivers up for sharing but I cant use them if Im in BSpec, which I have been doing mostly. I guess it would be better if I had more than 3 drivers :gapteeth: . But the only reason why I do that is so I can get one to lvl 40 faster without splitting exp more than necessary.

Also. I cannot choose to race with anybody's driver!!! How do I grab one? I feel like an idiot asking.

Save one driver for your 24hr B-Specin' and take the rest online.

If you are the one "hosting" the races then you can only use one driver, but if some one on your friends list can use all of them.
You need to find people who love Remote Racing and add them.

Racing Update:
PP have been reduced to 700pp.
The tracks now have the amount of laps.

Drivers Shared online = Can not be used in B-Spec
Drivers Not Shared online = Can be used in B-Spec

Drivers Shared online in a Remote Race = $15,000 per race
  • but has potential for all drivers to race and make 15,000 each.
Drivers Not Shared online = Can make 97,000 per race (Expert Series / American Race / Laguna Seca)

Select all but one driver for Shared Online.
Drive in American Race with the one driver.
Hope some one on your friends list uses your drivers in their races.
Hosts can only select 1 of their drivers but they can select all 6 of Biggie's drivers, all 6 of RCA's drivers or all 6 of some one else's drivers from their friends list.

Go and try it out and it will make much more sense.

bored in the miata endurance race, i just realized downshifting in a manual doesnt slow you down. at all. this bothers me.

edit: alright, correction. i guess it does unless you hit the limiter. but if you hit that, nothin.

Remote race is pretty cool. Just put the PS3 in server mode and use a PC (or smartphone) to start races. Like RCA said, you can only use one of your drivers at a time, but others can use multiple ones. They will all gain xp and $$. You have to set up the drivers you want to share by going into the driver selection screen and select "share with friends". Just remember that once they are set to shared, you cannot use them in B-spec races. (you can un-share them if you like as long as they are not currently in a race)

Hope this helps! What's your PSN? I'll use some of your drivers tonight.
