OP - you have issues.

After I spend yesterday going to the state fair just because my wife wanted to, I get a day to myself.

Do you not like spending time with your wife or are you just happier alone?

If you are going to arrange a surprise for your wife, YOU are in charge of it. If you can't handle the whole thing without her help, you should start smaller.

Unfortunately a lot of my generation's woman have not learned the other side of that.

A man should treat his wife/SO as his queen, and a woman should treat the man the same way. Not as a king, as that implies inferiority.

Too often I have seen woman treated like royalty, but then they turn around and walk all over their partner. That's not right.

I have a different view of what happened because I am not in the heat of it - but it sounds like you took it too harshly. Marriage is team effort. Why get so upset about this little detail of firewood? Why not make love to her anyway? Improvise! Marriage is a union before God, not a perfect fantasy romance novel. She is probably a good woman with a good heart (otherwise why marry her, right?)... so, love her! Do it now!

I couldn't agree more greg,after 2 years with my current lady i still bring her flowers and try to do something nice for her.I cook her dinner on a regular basis,and all that stuff.All those little pole-smokers that beat their girlfriends deserve to get beat on.I had(keyword there) a friend who was dating my lady's friend and he started slowly getting more and more aggressive until 6 months into their relationship he started just beating the s*** out of her,and she tried to hide it,I found out my girlfriend what he was doing and i blew up on that douche,i found him drinking in his basement and i went ape s*** on his a**,i drug his face across some rough a** concrete,and i ground and pounded his face until he was out.I make it a personal goal to wail on guys that do that s***.

I actually got into a fight with a guy when I used to work valet. This s*** and his girl were arguing on the drive. Me and the manager are watching and can see it escalating quickly. Then, out of nowhere, this dude just swings on his girl and clips her right in the jaw. Me and my manager were on him in seconds. Cops came and got him, with a broken nose and his eye swollen shut. Guys like that deserve to be castrated.

None of the rest of you have ever done that? I've gotten incredibly pissed at stupid stuff before and just vented. I'm pretty sure we all do. Because the natural progression for a man to verbally berate a woman is to raise his voice. Once that's not effective (and it won't be), the next logical progression is to use force.

I think the OP made an honest mistake - if marriage was easy, there's be no divorce.

Now, what he does from this point forward will show what kind of man he really is. I have faith that he'll sack up and make it right.

Maybe, but blowing off steam is healthy. You can't just keep it all bottled up. I have a feeling that was what the OP was doing, and I definitely cannot fault him for it. So long as it doesn't go any further than that, we're all good.

Other than that, I agree. I will gladly get in a physical altercation with any guy who hits a chick. I don't care if he's twice my size, I'd gladly step in.
