I picked up my sr head a couple of days ago from the machine shop. They took the head apart and cleaned it out. Plus they didnt charge me because we have been waiting for my tomei dual spring set for awhile. Back order :squint: and they were going to be installing new tomei guides, the springs and supertech valves plus do an angle job and deck the block. So the guy told to just bring the head back when the springs come in. :poke: :gotme

Then I got bored and welded some spare metal I had laying around and made a small stand to put the head on. Then I mocked up the intake manifold with fuel rail and throttle body and the turbo set-up. :naughty:

nice score on the air equipment...Is that a GT-Spec? It looks like one and if so, I think your going to like it. I have the same exhaust on my s14 and I really like it. It is great quality in my opinion.

Running open headers for now :slap:

So I got bored and a decided to tackle the rust holes on the trunk hatch. I started by grinding and sanding down on the holes and rust spots.

Then I took a cutoff wheel and cut the bad spots out.

Then using a metal body patch mesh, that has a sticky side, I covered all the holes with the mesh for something the bondo to stick to. I used about 2 layer of bondo sanding smooth in between each layer. Then used bondo glaze, the dark red, to fill in the low spots.

Resanded after all the bondo was dry then prepped, cleaned, primed, and painted with Rustoleum black.

It turned out ok. If I would ever have to do it again I would weld in metal patches, grind the welds flat, add body filler, prime and paint. :inout:
But its better than the black Ducktape. :gapteeth:

i gotta say the hatch repair isnt that great. especially since you have a welder. when we fixed my bro's hatch we used the process you described for what you would do next time. apexi exhaust is nice though

yeah i didnt really feel like putting that much effort into it since rear quater panel is pretty much all bondo from the previous owner :gotme

and the apexi exhaust will not go on this car because its 3.75" and the car is still N/A :squint:
FOR NOW :ohno:
