So I got bored and a decided to tackle the rust holes on the trunk hatch. I started by grinding and sanding down on the holes and rust spots.
Then I took a cutoff wheel and cut the bad spots out.
Then using a metal body patch mesh, that has a sticky side, I covered all the holes with the mesh for something the bondo to stick to. I used about 2 layer of bondo sanding smooth in between each layer. Then used bondo glaze, the dark red, to fill in the low spots.
Resanded after all the bondo was dry then prepped, cleaned, primed, and painted with Rustoleum black.
It turned out ok. If I would ever have to do it again I would weld in metal patches, grind the welds flat, add body filler, prime and paint.
But its better than the black Ducktape.
