So I starting back on the build again. It has been on pause for awhile since i sold my 240. I picked up a blacktop S13 head for a real good price and start to build on that. I took everything I could out, but the tool I rented from Advanced Auto couldn't get the valve springs out. So I left them alone and just to the head to the machine shop so theu could do it. The head is getting hot tanked, decked, slightly ported and polished, and the Tomei valve guides put in. I will be available in a couple of days.

Glad to see you bought that head. Buy dales hatch and deal with all the manual stuff, its lighter, better for lower ET's.

And now I'm back in a 240. Its 93 with power options but needs body work. Has 186k on motor and body but motor and trans are strong. I'm going to take the body to a professional and get the body done over, bead or sand blasted, stitched welded, caged, and what ever else will make the body stonger than OEM but still streetable and have all the feature comforts.

So me and a couple of buddies were bored and I decided I wanted to paint the car. Mark and I went to walmart and i bought a roll of brown mascking paper, 2 rolls of blue painters tape, 10 cans of OD green and 2 cans of flat back. It was 1:00 a.m. when we started painting and use the lamp in front of Mark's house, his evo headlights (shining on passenger's side), and his crx headlights (shining on driver's side) as the light sources.
So we painted the roof, hood, and headlights flat black and the body OD green. When we were done, i drove the car to Wawa to take picture in better light.

well since i was able to go to the track today due to weather, I found other things to tackle on the car. I took most of the rear interior out and all the carpet. I will be putting brand new black carpet back in and in the process of cleaning and reupolstering the rear seats. When i took the carpet out found a small patch of rust/ hole in the floor board behind the driver's seat where it gets bolted in. As a quick fix until it goes to the body shop, I put black roofing caulk on the area. This stuff is strong and will keep water out and prevents rust. I had some laying around from when I used to do roofing. Its almost the same as road tar

after stripping the interior, I took the car to the car wash and vaccumed all the dirt, dust, and grime

Thanks to my good friend Keegan (trader went to the bimmer side now lol) my turn signals blink at ther normal right speed, my driver's door is aligned and we found the the problem with my driver's wiper. The ground wires to the front turn signals had snapped and the turn signal housing had some corrosion. We just cleaned the corrosion off and added wire to reconnect the grounds and everything worked out. The wiper linkage bushing is shot so I have to replace it. Then we used my jack to jack up the driver's door which adjusted the alignment of the door that tends to fall daoen with age, reverse the time.
Always good to make progress on the car

Today I had some time to kill so I decided to take off the factory spoiler that loves to hide rust. Just as I expected, there was rust under the spoiler. :tisk:
So I then sanded the holes with 120 grit paper

Then I covered the wholes with black duck tape :gotme , for now til I get another trunk lid, and sprayed the trunk flat black to match the hood and roof

Well now I have started working on the little things with this car. I had cut offthe ridiculous muffler that was in the car when I bought it. Ran 2.25"straight from the cat for about 2 weeks. Then I got tired of how loud it was. So I went to Scott's Exhaust and told them to put a stockish muffler on. :squint:

While the car was on the lift, I went ahead and checked the underbody. The underbody was pretty much clean. Then I noticed how the rear quarter panel body was a joke. My guess is the car was in an accident and they didnt even bother to hammer the dent out. Yay let just fill everything with bondo. :slap:

Then I headed up to Harrisburg to Joel's house. I swapped my stock tails for the kouki plus some cash butit was a good deal that I couldnt pass up. :naughty:

So today I went to Cecil County Dragway just for the hell of it. I ran the 240 about 10x with the best time of 15.8 @ 87.2 mph. The car did better than I thought the only performance mod is the 2.25" exhaust other than that complete stock (even stock air box). My fastest mph was 91 when I spun through 1st. With an lsd I might be able to squeeze out 15.6. Just having a little bit of fun before she gets overhauled.
