I was just thinking of getting these and calling it a day. http://www.frsport.com/Gorilla....html

How the hell did a nickel get inside your fender(s)? Needless to say, hearing the door chime for about 45 minutes to an hour got really, really irritating while trying to clean it out.

I saw them at Kragens, but they seemed like a rip off. I don't really know what kind of lug seat the SE alloys have, I'm just guessing that conical fits.

You opened up a treasure chest full of good loot!! Very clean ride and the low miles are super rare these days.

I wouldn't be ashamed that your Dad bought the car for you. He bought it for you because he is probably proud of you and he trusts that you'll take care of your car. I would also strive to keep a job to put gas in it that you pay for. I would also focus on being a responsible driver. Trust me when I say, "If you are consistant with driving over 9mph over the posted speed limit, you WILL see blue lights in your near future."

I use Turtle Wax "ICE" that you can buy at the big box stores to clean and detail my interior. Also, I would definately use a windshield sun shade from March to October to keep the extreme UV rays from getting the best of your dash. I use one religiously all year long for both of my S14's. I'd also battle the rest of the family for garage time for your car. Garage kept cars always seem to be in much better shape through the years.

You might be 17, but you are playing it very smart by taking your time. I would be patient to do things to the car so that you have time to do research so that you can make wise decisions that you won't regret in the future.

Good luck and congats!

Thank you for the positive words bro! I don't plan to do stupid things in this car whatsoever(Okay, I lied. I tried to wink the headlights and I can't get them to do it, but I'll stop.) . Do you use the Turtle Wax ICE on your dashboard? That's what I'm paranoid about right now and people seem to use 303 Aerospace Protectant. Besides that, the next thing on my list is to figure out how to fix that hatch leak decently.

Yep, scouring craigslist for that year and a half agonizing over not having a 240 suddenly seems all worth the while. I was trying to find a kouki or zenki, but those pop up headlights kept pulling me back.

Yeah, haha that's why I wanted to ask but at the same time it'd be pretty hard to exactly know.. I'm going to change the open diff, transmission, and engine oil soon anyways. Would the only thing I would need to worry about is the timing chain(belt)? Water pump?

yup. check to make sure it hasnt already been done tho.but at 60 i doubt it.

and may i suggest putting atleast a vlsd in there? you can get them from any infiniti j30 pretty cheap.open diff=ewwww

I'll check out the vlsd. I probably could not though as I must abide by the rule of "stock only". (And I wouldn't have any idea how to hide it. They seem to wear out fast? Whatever that means.)

Right now, I'm focusing on that hatch water leak. I couldn't really understand the directions of sealing it, so I just figure that it's a great excuse to spray the area down with Rust Bullet and cover the entire area with Lowe's peel and seal to make the car a bit more quieter. I was thinking of using this http://www.parts-express.com//...8-250 as another coat on top of the Rust Bullet but I think it will be unnecessary.

I'm going to be planning out an doing small, cheap DIY projects like this for awhile.

stock only??all it does is give you torque on 2 wheels instead of one. its safer if you ask me..and if it ends up wearing out.. then it just becomes an open diff

Hm. I'll look into it some more. Though, I don't quite understand what people say when they mean "wear out". As in, it's totally shot to s*** and you have to replace the entire unit, or rebuild? Or just replace the fluid? Lol.

Pertaining to the hatch leak, it's more than likely the taillights. Get some 3M sealant or something and reseal them. Mine leak all the time... Granted, I've had them out and back in multiple times without resealing them, so that's probably why.

Thanks, but being that I am an idiot, I don't quite know where to put the sealant. Unless this is one of those things where once I actually see it then I'll understand. So I'll do that later and just use it as an excuse to put sound deadening in my trunk now

Use AEROSPACE 303 for your dash. You can give me an e-high five later.

If you remove your taillights you'll understand what I mean... They're be hard to remove at first because of the old seal (it's pretty much like tar.) Get rid of the old s*** and replace it with the new.

Wow, congrats on the new car, man! I'm 17 as well and i've been searching for a 240sx. Now i found one and selling the mustang i bought in december.. and as for leaving stock, why not at least change the rims or something? i know you like it stock, but aftermarket rims can really spice up the ride

Nice ride man very clean but I got you beat on miles my car only had 34,872 miles on it and I got mine for $650 the reason it was so low was that the exhaust manifold broke two studs and the owner threw it in the garage lol but yours is a little more well kept up then mine I.E no scratches and no hole in the driver seat. either way great find and keep up with the keepin' it stock thing To each his own.
