Bump and a small update that probably no one cares about. I haven't had much time, but basically what I've done is removing the old clear coat of my rims, wetsanded with various fine grits, and sprayed a new clear coat on(work in progress). I used the aircraft remover. Also note, this stuff is serious.

I was an idiot who used it without thinking much about it in my backyard(only wearing a wifebeater and holding my breath when I sprayed it) which ended up giving me a killer sore throat as well as giving me the cold. I seriously thought I had strep throat, but I'm pretty sure it was because I was an idiot. Lesson learned!

Today, I prepped only one rim and sprayed the clear coat(3 coats) to see if it looks terrible. I live close to the beach and working with the wind made it annoying. I thought it came out decent for a first timer, but the wheel balancing weight on it made it a bit ugly because some small bubbles formed there. That's about it.. I know my "build" isn't exactly exciting, but I tried. For what it's worth, refer to the older pictures of my rims when I first bought them for comparison(on page 3). My crap camera phone and the lighting didn't really help taking these pictures.

Oh and irrelevant, but it took me this long to realize that I may not have ABS. I don't have an ANTI-LOCK light in the cluster, or that silver box with metal lines in the engine bay. I guess threshold braking is in my future?

that nobody cares about? actually I dont mind, it's a good update really. And, they look pretty nice tbh... I gotta get some new rims sometime for my 240, aftermarket.. mine are... a bit... ugly.. lol...

But yea man, paint, clearcoat, etc... none of them are toys. they're wicked dangerous... In shop class just painting with water based paint with a paint gun, I can't breathe as easy, and I sneeze up green the whole night.. (was painting with green paint lol)

Oh, and if you never got a chance to see my thread, herehttp://forums.nicoclub.com/zer...79329

Thanks for the replies. Not much else I'm going to do with the car right now besides installing an alarm(A two way Python). Already sent a payment to Broadfield for door lock actuators. Stereo deck will be in soon as well, and the RPSport subframe brace. I need to figure out about my audio situation, since I have no clue about it. Stay tuned..

K3Fallout wrote:Hello all. I'm introducing myself and my 1991 240sx I bought yesterday night. I found the car on craigslist on 1/31 and bought it the day after. It's Misty Blue Metallic with ONLY 53,200 miles. Clean title. The original owner inherited it from his father who passed away. He served in some sort of armed forces as there is a sticker with a serial number from the Department of Defense, and another that says "Naval graduate school".

I have been lurking on these forums for well over a year now, but posted rarely because I did not own a 240, nor do I know a lot. This car is clean stock and I intend on leaving it like that.. I guess this is a "Fix when broken " build thread.

EDIT: I actually forgot to introduce myself. I'm 17 (I know..) and before I used to like Civics and Integras, but lack of torque and the stolen factor of it became a turn off. I do have a job, so whatever I intend on doing(which is meager anyways), I have the income to do so..albeit slowly. In the very, very future I want to have this as a DD and restore a Datsun 240z or 510. Unlikely? Maybe. Dreaming? Yes.

Here are the pictures. Excuse my 3.2 megapixel cellphone camera.

ORIGINAL mileage.. I had to email the seller if it was a typo. Sure enough, it wasn't.

I'll answer a few questions that may potentially come up..

-I'm very happy the way it is right now sans the hubcaps, but I'll bask in OEM glory for a good while.-Most I will do is stick the 4 lug SE alloy wheels on later.-I don't intend to molest this car. It's too beautiful and pure for some ***hole teenager like me to do it. Most I will do is Cibie/Hella lights, and maybe jdm signals. Kouki tails are in the far future.-Yes it's auto and I'm fine with that. No, I don't intend a manual swap.-As of right now, I could use a broadway, an alarm, a club, and new tires.-Right now I can stick my whole fist in the wheel gap, but I don't really care.

Questions of my own:- I know I should not use Armor All on the dash as the alcohol makes it crack. What are the alternatives?- The windshield washer fluid indicator light is on and I don't know how to reset it. Can anyone tell me how?- How is it possible that the car has a dual cam when it was manufactured in 6/'91?

Got it for $3500. The seller didn't budge with the price, he knew what it was worth and how rare a clean one was. He was a nice guy though.

When putting the rims on, it was the first time I got underneath the car. No cracks, no leaks, no punctures, no rust. Though I was perplexed as I could not see the front sway bar. My shocks/springs are literally brand new besides the dust boots falling apart. When they blow, I'm not sure what will be in store for it.. either Koni Yellow/RSR Race, Stance LX+/Fortune Auto, or Koni/Swift. But that won't happen anytime soon.
