My absolute deadline for this now is end of this month..

Cheers

cool man, have you looked up the CA powered 200sx by mobne

as far as i know he hails from sweden, i'd imagine your powerband would resemble somewhat of he's running, i have no idea the specs on his car though, so who knows, as far as his videos go, his dyno states 705hp at the wheels, thought that was pretty cool.

anyways, keep with the keepin' on man, your engine is looking SICK

Yeah I do talk to him as often as i can on msn, depending on time differences and how busy we both are lol..

He has done exceptionally well with his setup, but my build bears no resemblance to his..

My build has: greater head flow, higher lift, bigger valves, smaller duration, less boost pressure, different port designs, more robust head internals, more block and crank work, similar piston/rod combination, different rings and bearings, different ecu setups.

Not saying mine is better or worse, I just went down a different path, I like his work, in some ways it did inspire me in some parts of my build.

He is a nice guy too, I actually hope to catch up with him next time I am in europe... I want to attend gatebil at some stage in the next couple of years, when we visit family in france, sweden is just around the corner lol...

I miss europe... "sigh"

thats awesome man, and i've seen the headwork you've put into your engine, quite the feat, stuffing those RB valves in there, i am quite curious about the headwork done to his car as well. very impressive.

Wow, VERY nice which intake manifold are you using? where did you purchase that and what company makes it? It looks like nice quality, is it? haha.

Hi mate, I am using a PNT Performance manifold, purchased off ebay..

I think its a great manifold, a few minor modifications required for my build.. There is a thread about the manifold on ns.com..

cool thats the one i thought it was, i have been thinking about getting that one but im unsure of the quality of the casting and everything else on the inside. I dont want to get it and have it be a pile of crap that looks nice haha. Could you take some good pictures of the inside if you havent already put your throttle body on haha Im really curious im either getting that one or the Greddy.

I had to remove the throttlebody to have a clamp welded to it so your in luck..lol

I will see what I can do, it may be difficult with the position of the motor...

I didn't know greddy made manifolds for the CA?? I know there are SR20 ones (fake and legit) and I have seen some ebay sellers advertise SR20 ones as CA ones...

Thats about the best photo I could get for you...

Another quick update, almost finished the inlet side of the cooler piping, need to weld the female part of the throttle-body clamp, do some more tidy up and a polish then that side is complete...

I am getting closer, it is a good feeling..

Yeah its the third incarnation of a radiator for the old silvia, the stock radiators were terrible in summer, so I went to an R32 which was great, now this one lol....

Four or so weeks away is the tuning, so vids will be posted shortly after...

this is f***ing god like.

do you have any plans for tracking it? drag strip/drift/road course so on and so forth??

here's a question too!

with mobne running a different head setup that doesnt flow nearly as much as the set up youre running, why not up the boost and aim for a higher projected number? it certainly seems the engine is capable to handle it, true?

lol, cheers mate i wouldn' call it god like though, although I have used his name in vane plenty of times during the course of this build lol...

It wil be a street registered car, mostly used for jamborees, ocassional drag meets, but mostly for the fun of it and enjoying my creation...

It is something I have considered, one of the goals for this project was useable power, the projected number is what i wanted to achieve reliably, but at the end of the day it is only a figure...

I am expecting with ve and the amount of decent gear in the head that it will still make power through to 11000 rpm, the bottom end should handle the stress pretty well, it all depends on when the characteristics of the bits and pieces dictates when the powerband tapers off, won't find that out till it is on the dyno...

I am developing another manifold design and a different forced induction setup (whether or not I actualy build it or not) based on the very real chance that this turbo doesn't flow enough for the head.

Cheers

right on man, i cant wait to see the dyno charts, and some modest vids of this thing making some pulls. it's certainly been a joy looking at the f***in' eye candy. hurry up and make it happen man!

lol... no dramas mate...

This weekend should see the finish of the mechanical/hardware side of things, and the small amount of electrical work left to do..

Just gotta wait for the ecu to arrive, then I can perform a system check, make sure it starts and then it will be ready to run in and tune...

Where did you get that coldpipe? If I get that manifold i want to be able to just bolt everything together haha. So that manifold looks like great quality? Im wondering whether to go with that PNT manifold or the Greddy for my SR20DET.I just want it to be amazing quality and i know Greddy has been around forever. If the PNT one is really great then i would gladly get that instead i love the way it looks! Also the fact that it has velocity stacks

I fabbed the pipe up myself, using 3" alloy pipe and HDI intercooler weld on clamps (similar in principle to wiggins clamps)...

The throttlebody and airflow meter reducers (not pictured) I had tig welded up at a radiator shop...

I should have most of it finished today...

the intake cam is advanced and the exhaust cam retarded yea meminto? Or do I have it the other way around. I have red anodized gears like that from tomei aswell but there is no A----R markings on them. Be great if you could clear this up for me.

Sorry mate I don't understand your question..

You can advance or retard each cam depending on your application... Advance is rotating counter-clockwise, Retard is rotating clockwise....

If you have the 0 marking and the degree increments on the tomei gears you have, if you set your timing to factory then as an example: Rotating the inlet cam gear counterclockwise, will give you 2 degrees advance per cam gear mark, rotating 2 degrees clockwise will give you 2 degrees retard per cam gear mark - This is also the case for the exhaust....

If your asking abut my specific setup, then yes the intake has been advanced and the exhaust retarded, but was built into the camshaft profile..

Hope this helps..
