My cams are only 264 but they are 9.5 lift. It is my hope that that lift, combined with the manifold will allow a slightly larger than streetable turbo act proper at cruising speed and still move plenty of air at full scream. I am not building a dyno queen nor a true race car so I need some responsiveness but on those rare occasions when I find a soda can driver with an attitude next to me I would like to know I can slap that smile off his face with relative ease if I chose to.

Cheers for that, but I dont use a T based flange, so I am unsure if your example applies.

Its a mitsubishi flange...

I have these sitting on the shelf frustrating me. Too small for my power goals one by one but just rediculous like this!

Meminto, I know that you're using a Greddy T67 turbo, my whole point was that you don't need to know the A/R of your turbine housing since you already have the "A" handy... Once again, turbine nozzle area is a much more meaningful indicator than A/R...

As an aside, what turbine wheel have you got in there? TD06, TD06H, TD06SL2, etc..? (is it the 61mm inducer turbine wheel, 65mm, or 67mm?)

glad you see it as that.

If I came across wrong, my apologies as well. I really dont think I did though, and it was a valid enough point for you to salvage an old knackered pulley in the oven....I got you thinking, and thats what these boards are all about, right?

what has me most excited about this build is the RB inake/exhaust valves, Im really excited to hear this motor.

I use supertech RB25 Titanium Retainers... For peoples benefit, here are some measurements..

Diameter:

Stock = 26.83mmSTRB25 = 27.34mm

Height:

Stock = 7.54mmSTRB25 = 7.54mm

They also replicate the slight chamfer in the base, it would be difficult to get a photo it's that fine...

If you are looking at buying these, email the supplier first, when I bought these they were part of a kit and you couldn't buy them seperately...

Here are the photos, pretty obvious but... OEM brand new retainer on the left..

So if i'm not wrong the rb25 retainer is for dual spring ? Do you think it's possible to install double spring and retainer on stock CA Valve ?

Correctish, it's sold with the dual spring kit, but I dont see a problem if someone wanted to use the retainer on a stock spring/valve combo (although it probably wouldn't be warranted)..

However, to answer your question, it would be possible to use double spring with a stock valve, just make sure it's in good work condition... I really couldn't see a point of failure in doing so... However my spring seats are also the ones that come in the kit..

Here some more measurments for people of the valve spring, unfortunatley I don't have a brand new stock spring..

Diameter:

Stock = 26.86mmSTRB25 = 27.59mm

Height:

Stock = 43.15mmSTRB25 = 41.81mm

I know the coil bind on the dual spring is 14.1mm, I am unsure of the stock spring..

The cams were made for my application..

I provided the info a couple of pages back, however:

Lift = 13.1mm (516 thou)Duration = 261*

If you are considering sticking with stock valves, you cannot obtain that lift height with a stock valve...

I am having a few delays whilst I settle into a new job, however I have dummied up a few more things..

You can see there is going to be a little interference with the water hose and the alternator. It looks worse than it is and I already have a solution...

Cheers

O wow thats some serious lift. I really think you are going to making power past 9500 rpm my dude if you allow the tuner too take it up that high on the dyno i dont see why you wouldnt this engine is very thoroughly put together . quote( I will be happy to stay in the 81-8500rpm bracket, but 9000rpm, will be the highest I will allow...) What is going too be the intended use of this vehicle ? Just a sick as hell street car thats going to see the track occasionally or what?

Street trim, with occasional meets, track days, jamboree's etc... more of a social thing rather than all out competitive...

Not a great deal of progression this week, however I now have all the bits in at the fabricators to finish off. I have pulled apart the xf throttlebody to give it a good clean up, but need to have a couple of -10 bungs welded to it for the air regulator and IAA gear.

The throttle body itself looked like it had sat around for a while, there was a lot of grime on the butterfly plate, so I took to it with the buff lol... Buffing is something I seem to be getting quite good at now and have developed my own process...

Here are some before and after shots... I havent started on the tb itself, will do once the welding is finished off.

Enjoy... :D

Neither did I.... I have never seen a throttlebody so filthy and built up with scale lol...

It was that smooth that it kept slipping out of hands on the buff and hitting the box behind the grinder lol... After two or three times of that I decided it was enough...

I don't see the gears in this pic listed on the site, what is the story on those?

I was enamoured with your CAS bracket but I thought a buddy made it one off for you. It never occured to me they were commercially available, now i want one!

Manifold is finally on, bolted all up today..

I am going to polish the compressor housing, but wanted to get it all bolted up so I could continue on other things, I found some affordable wiggins type clamps for the intercooler pipework and the compressor housing inlet so I can start designing the dual z32 afm intake setup..

Not far off now, got a couple more things to do but should hopefully have the motor in the car by end of feb..

I just noticed the housing says "performanced by trust".The Japanese never cease to amaze me. Check the english if you are going to actually cast something that says it!
