beats me....people have been drawing guns with beavertails for a looooooong time.
most of the newer polymer guns out don't really need a long one though as they keep a low bore axis and the slide sits back a little further to ride over the hand...and they're striker fired so you don't have to worry about hammerbite.
A good holster and plenty of practice drawing the gun will go a long way to prevent getting hung up. The "melted" carry guns look cool...but really, that's not gonna help much with not snagging on something.
