my mpg never got that low. During last winter i used to get around 23 in city but it increased to 27 as weather warmed up. what tire pressure are you running?

I generally get around 17-18MPG driving in the city. Mind you this is New York City with lots of red lights and traffic. My TPMS says my tires are all around 36-38psi (at around 45 degrees).

I also run tire pressure around 36 now and keep rpm around 1500-2200

Best MPG thus far (on E10, 87 octane gas) has been 30.25 MPG highway over a 700 mile trip and mostly ~23 MPG for daily/city driving (which is low IMHO ). I'm also now running Mobil M1 0W-30 oil.

I'm hoping that by the 10K mile mark, my city MPG will have gone significantly up once everything has "worn in".

Hello All,

Best MPG thus far (on E10, 87 octane gas) has been 30.25 MPG highway over a 700 mile trip and mostly ~23 MPG for daily/city driving (which is low IMHO ). I'm also now running Mobil M1 0W-30 oil and run 35 PSI on all tires as well as try to conserve energy (mild hypermiling) on starts/stops in city traffic.

I'm really hoping that by the 10K mile mark, everything will have "worn in" enough to allow me to get better than the 25MPG city mileage stated by the EPA/Nissan.

I've driven with ECO mode on for a few weeks. Trying to get a feel for how it affects driving and if I actually get better MPG while using it.
It seems to be best used for city driving. I imagine the intent was to reduce a lot of the wasted fuel used to accelerate from a stop. It is most definitely more sluggish and I really do not like it for highway use as it is almost unsafe when trying to accelerate to merge. But for driving in a stop-and-go environment, I can definitely see where it would be effective at increasing city MPG but not so sure about HWY. Didn't really notice a large improvement in fuel economy. Just my $.02.

I think they should have left the sport button in the same location as the 1st gen. Right in the same vacinity as the shifter.

Well I think they should have mounted the sport button on the shifter where the O/D button is and scrap the O/D button altogether. All it does is drop the CVT in low range which you can do by dropping the shifter in Low. :yesnod

4th tank of gas using old math method yielded 22.8 computer yields 24.6. All flat country road driving 12 to 30 mile trips 3 to 5 stop signs per trip, average foot. Temperatures from 5 to 35 F. Hope it gets better than this, I might as well drive in NYC.

Just refuelled after last full tank and trip counter reset on my new 2015 Rogue SV AWD with 3rd row seats. The 3rd row has never been used. Occupancy is between 1 and 3 persons.
I'm not impressed with the mileage. The calculation comes out as 13.5 litre/100KM (17.5 MPG) with 50/50 city/hwy and some up/down hills in mild 11 degree Celsius (52 degree Fahrenheit).
Would like to compare someone with similar configurations. I suspect the run-flat tires are part of the reasons but it shouldn't be that big of a difference.

I only use the ECO mode when on the highway that is not crowded (where I may want to have a quick acceleration to pass a car etc). I am a big fan of using it.
I would not use it around town (if in a more congested area) or on busy highways.

It keeps the RPM's low and doesn't "downshift" when you accelerate to go up an incline or pass a vehicle-hence also saving on fuel. I noticed a good difference in fuel economy in my 2015 S with 1,400 miles on it. I reset my fuel mpg screen and drove about 30 miles on a mostly flat highway, yet with some moderate inclines here and there. I got 31.9 mpg! I'll take that any day. Of course it would have been better to fill up, drive all highway, top off and calculate MPG that way, but I am just starting to play around with it. I do manually calculate when I fill up every 2nd or 3rd fill up to check though.

The location of the Sport and ECO are in a ridiculous location. Talk about taking your eyes off the road for too long!

Bought a new Nissan Rogue 2015 SL FWD few weeks back. Very much disappointed with the MPG. EPA estimates say 26 / 33 but I'm averaging only 23 MPG City / Highway mixed driving.

Is there a issue with the vehicle or will the MPG pick up in weeks to come ?

Please help out.

You are still breaking it in plus gas is still a winter blend so that will affect mpg. If you are a lead foot then that won't help.

Also, there is a HUGE thread about this already.

Most people don't realize the hit mileage takes in the winter. My rogue goes from 28-31 in the summer to 21-23 in the winter. Just a simple fact of life. If I lived in Florida or southern California maybe that wouldn't happen but I don't and it does.

I never saw mine improve that dramatically. I've gotten more than 30 one time when I did the entire tank on the interstate. City mileage is typically between 23-24 mpg for me.

Also, it is worse in the winter (as mentioned).

I usually get 15-18mpg in the city on my 3 mile drive to and from work. Purley stop and go (stop signs and traffic lights). It all depends on your situation.

This is my experience as well. To get 30+mpg for me it has to be warm out and I have to be driving 55-65mph on a very flat road. Where I live it's very hilly, and this car sucks with hills and MPG. I average 24mpg in the summer and 21 in the winter. This is mostly rural driving with very little stops and an average speed of about 45mph, but lots and lots of hills.

That's what I noticed as well, I was surprised to see how much it resists getting up to 2500rpms considering I would have my foot abut 1/2 way down

Strongly agreed, I was convinced they got rid of the sport button when I first sat in a 2015 Rogue because of it's bigger bulkier size(couldn't believe how different it felt compared to my 2013 Rogue. Seemed like going from a motorcycle to a tank) and the fact that the button wasn't by the gear shifter anymore.

I got 33.1 according to the display on a 10 mile trip on Friday, 8 miles HWY & 2 miles city. Outdoor temp was about 70, speeds were 50-60mph. Had to stop at 4 stop signs and 3 traffic lights so it wasn't all cruising/coasting highway. 2015 AWD SL. 4000 miles on the ODO, have not yet had the 1st oil change. So far I am happy. Previous all winter I have been getting 25-27 mostly HWY. And I was using the ECO mode fwiw. I initially wasn't liking the ECO mode, but after a few hundred more miles, I am getting used to it.

I do not take the fuel economy display as gospel, but when used to compare the same trip, same time of day, etc...it can be useful to compare how temp affects economy when other factors are relatively constant.

I have a flatter terrain where I drive in Eastern MA. I have 2015 AWD S.
Highway only, using ECO, driving 70-75 mph I got 31.9 mpg on a 65 mile trip.
Surprising, that's what the on board fuel computer calculated as well as my manual calculation (filled up just before the drive and again at my destination, just to check the mpg).
City/Hwy mixed I am getting about 26 mpg.
I don't use the ECO mode unless I am on the highway without much traffic. For me, from my 2009 Murano, that is great gas mileage! It does depend a lot on your terrain and driving habits though.

So far my average has been significantly less than what I had hoped for. I drive approx. 100+ miles a day. Most highway and back country roads. While I do hit some stop and go traffic on my commute.

Presently, I average around 23mpg per the vehicle. And I can only match the EPA HWY MPG rating on a late evening, setting cruise control at 65mph, and traveling from Pa to Baltimore (which is primarily a downgrade route). Mind you, this same route I'd achieve 23-27 mpg with my old 2006 Dodge Durango.

So I feel something is extremely inaccurate in the EPA rating for this vehicle. Edmund's review also has been averaging around 23mpg. I am of the opinion, that a vehicle should not average below it's city rating.

Other than that, I like the car a lot.

Most of the people who are getting in the low 20s for mileage seem to have the AWD version, myself included. I'm guessing the AWD hurts the MPGs much more than Nissan's numbers let on.

I have a 2015 SV AWD and was getting 39.5 all the way up to 45 MPG driving 25 MPH around a state park yesterday....don't know who accurate that is though.

Just did a road trip to Maryland and back. 98% of the drive is on freeway, mostly I-81. Had my cruise control set to 78mph most of the way. I got 29mpg on the way up and 27.8 on the way back. Not bad.

I was wondering if I can set it for any trip I want or does it just give you an average since the vehicule was new? When mine was new it would periodically ask me if I wanted to update the average mpg but now being 8 months later it doesn't. I guess it gives you that update option If you get a better result than the previous registered.

With mine, I see the option to update everytime I turn the Rogue off. You should be able to scroll to highlight update to set the new best.
