207 miles driven / 8.2 gallons used = 25.24 MPG

SL AWD - All city driving, mostly by my wife to and from work... no jack rabbit starts... smooth and steady driving. Not bad for the first MPG calculation.

Just got my Rogue last week and went on a trip this week. I got 26 MPG on the highway. I don' think thats bad at all especially when it's not even broken in yet.

Still holding around 9l/100km or 26mpg. This is the 4th tank of fuel with 2600km (1500mi) on the odometer.

Yes, you are only 1 hr away from me.

How do I drive? Well there are a few factors:

- I have a FWD model so the fuel economy is slightly better. I see yours is FWD too.- I don't exceed 120km/h on the highway. Fuel economy really drops off at speeds above 120km/h. This is true for many cars including my wife's Protege.- I drive alot of rural/country roads at 95 km/h max.- I don't do any stop and go driving in heavy traffic- I accelerate gently (most of the time). Heavy acceleration with the CVT keeps engine rpm's very high and consumes fuel.- I don't idle my vehicle for more than 2-3 minutes before starting off. Idling in cold weather consumes alot of gas as the engine runs very rich during cold starts.

Yes, my driving habits favorably skew my fuel economy. ;-)

I drove around the greater Toronto area for 12+years. In my Altima, I still managed 9l/100km in heavy traffic, and lots of city driving. My Alty's mileage only dropped to 8.5l/100km when I moved just outside of Kitchener. I invite you to try the same techniques and I'm willing to bet you will see a considerable fuel economy increase even in congested city areas.

I just got my Rogue AWD w/premium package yesterday - the loaner I'd been driving since Saturday was damn good on mileage. I'd averaged 26-27 mpg, mostly highway, for the 410 miles that I had it.

Here's hoping the new one will be as good on mileage If the posts here are any indication, it looks like it will. :D

Is anyone bored? Have some free time to donate to the good of the Rogue forum?

If anyone is interested, we've got enough data in this thread to now calculate and average the gas milage numbers for the whole of the Rogue forum.

I'd like to see someone separate out the city / hwy / mixed gas mileage figures, then add them up and average them.

Let me know if you want to give this a shot. Otherwise I'll do it myself this weekend.

We'll keep this thread going through the summer and then make another summation and calculate averages again this fall. I think it will be really interesting to see how our summer numbers compare to the winter figures.

Thanks gang!

This has been the first chance I've had to mark my mileage. I just logged 25.6 miles per gallon. This was from 470 to 812 miles on the odo so I'm hoping to see some improvement as the car gets broken in. Overall I'm very pleased! This tank was about 70% hwy miles.

I'm retired, my wifes Acura is the highway car, so....driving my SL AWD ONLY in the city at an altitude of 5280 feet, I get 20 miles to the gallon.

My Rogue is now 3 weeks old. I'm getting about 18.5 mi/gal. Cold mornings, warm up time, short city driving.

I have the same stats as gi'me, and our climate and driving conditions are similar. I get great highway mileage, though, as long as the road is flat. What a difference a few hills make. So, at 2200 miles, I am getting 18.5 in town, 27-28 flat highway, anything in between if the terrain slopes. That CVT is very smooth and responsive, but it does guzzle the gas on hills.

First tank of gas results for my Rogue SE AWD

This tank used 87 Octane pure unleaded.

MPG (Trip Computer average): 26.3MPG (calculating miles vs gallons filled): 24.96

Not knowing exactly how much gas the dealer put in previously, I think that's a pretty good match between the two.

Trip odo and MPG reset. Refilled with 89 octane E10.

This just proved my point. Driven conservatively, the Rogue can get decent fuel economy. Drive it like a racecar and the fuel economy drops like a stone. Many cars are like this. My wife's Protege gets horrible fuel mileage after you pass 120km/h... reaching 10l/100km quite easily.

Now that I have over 1500mi on the clock, I thought I'd fill'r up, reset the trip computer andsee just what kind of mileage I am getting onstrictly around town driving, (haven't taken iton the highway as yet).

So, I did just that...filled'r up and reset everything.I drove it easy, stop and go, up to a maximum of45mph, several times, stoplight driving....for about35minutes.

When I got home, it said I was averaging 28.9 mpg!!!!Can this be right??? ...surely not, that seems awful high!...though I'd sure like to believe it!

What say you....anybody done the same test asthis before? ....tell me....tell me. Thanks.

Yeah, I wouldn't believe that reading on such a short trip. You really need to drive a couple of hundred miles on a full tank, and then divide the miles by gals. by hand to get a true reading. The car's trip meter is good, but not THAT good. Hills, wind, outside temp, all can create wide swings in mileage per gallon odometer readings.

BTW, if you'd like to read my full review of the Rogue on epinions.com in which I discuss mileage, you can click over to the writeratwork's review at:

..I understand....there can be many variables that can alter the mpgover a full tank of driving...which would make the reading more realistic. My thought is...that though this was done on a very controlled, shorttrip, I was still quite shocked that the average was that high...just showsthat IF your driving, for some reason, were to take place in this manner, that the Rogue is capable of very good mileage....I'm impressed...

By the way, nice review on epinions...

why use 91 Octane??? Engine is designed to run on regular. I just dont get you guys trying 91 Octane, especially with the gas prices as they are.

I don't intend to use it full-time. But I am interested in seeing what the results will be. I'm sure others will be interested as well.

New Rogue owner for about 2 weeks now. Doing manual calculation I got 31.71mpg city! Now that was without running the a/c and my commute does not require much stop and go...also I am not a leadfoot. I am very pleased with that figure considering I am coming from a Jeep that got about 15mpg.

Got 355 on 13.85 gal, about 25.6 mpg. Computer showed 26.1 at 30 mph.70/30 hwy/city, 2400 miles on car. the weather has warmed up a lot where hence the improvement maybe.

I just plugged my litres per km into a gas calculator and came up with 25.4 mpg with 3900km on the car, half and half city/highway
