That's right. That was Bill Miller, owner of the Fairgrounds, an excellent driver. We've invited him to join us again if he's available. If you can snare a ride with him, it's very fun. :dblthumb:

Thanks for the heads up about admission Bubba, Carlisle is only 2 hours away from CC and if we can get on the road by 1800hrs, we should feasibly be able to make it before it's too late. We'll get everything panned out by friday.

Ugh... It's going to be a hellacious Thursday for me. Aside form the fact that I have to fly back home that day and fight traffic from Dulles Airport, I then have some heavy work to do on the Corolla to get it road ready.

Right now, as it stands, the Corolla is setup for short trips to the various auto-x sites and for R-compound tires. In order to make it to Carlisle on one tank of fuel, I'm going to have to swap out my cams for my stockers, drop my fuel cell and put the old fuel tank back in and hook up the old wiring harness to run the stock ECU. I also have to reconfigure my suspension so I do not trash my tires just driving up to Carlisle and also work in a setup for street tires to achieve a good amount of lateral grip. It's also been two months since I've had to push hard on street tires so I've no idea what setup to use and will probably be playing with it all night and later on at Carlisle itself. I think my headlights/wipers dont work or are not hooked up either, I cant recall the last time I used them...

I'd have done all this the past weekend but Sunday I had a points event for SCCA. =/

I'm hopeful you'll get it all done in time to get on track here.

Considering the number of events you do, it sounds like it might soon be time to get a trailer/tow vehicle. I threw in the towel last year and bought an inexpensive one. Could make things a lot easier...food for thought.

I have faith I can get it all done, sleep is for the weak! I also have some helping hands in our shop so it wont just be me flying solo on this job.

Sadly, I live in an apt and dont have another spot available for parking of a support vehicle/trailer. For F125, I usually just rent a SUV (tons of free days due to my job being 100% travel), and toss the tony kart/tires/fuel in there. Cant toss a Corolla in there though =(

Perhaps if I start feeling like I can compete in Lincoln for the Nationals then I'll start piecing together how I could house a tow vehicle/trailer, but sadly I'm not that good yet, nor is the Corolla in shape for a stab at national level Prepared competition.

On a side note, it will be a blast remembering how to drive on street tires. Brake sooner, shorter time to position myself for the next corner, then throw the car in and pray it sticks. Is it Saturday yet?

Depends on where you live I guess. The Northeastern Divisional Championship for SCCA Autocross is at FedEx Field, as is the Pro Solo Tour stop. FedEx is 30 minutes from me.

Well, Tito has described the birthday present he wants to give you in many threads. I suppose there are others that might like to celebrate the same way. :chuckle:

Indeed :)

What ever happened to the event that was hosted near Atlanta? That was the only one I'd ever have a chance to attend.

So i just want to confirm everything

$50 to park in special parking lot - dire and I will split it
Arrive before 11 to get good parking
Bikini contest starts at 7:30

Is the parking the only major thing I have to pay for?

Well, you might want to consider paying for gas to even get there, food, etc. :gapteeth:

Yes, that's pretty much it.

Are you guys going to be able to spend the night? If so, you two can crash for cheap in my hotel room. Me or Chris (Loki) and I'm sure everyone else will introduce ourselves to you, no worries.

Besides gas, tolls, food and drinks?

Parking is free. The $50 is admission to the fairgrounds, dummy. The gates open at 8, so I don't know how great a parking spot you'll get arriving 3 hours after the gate opens.
And the Bikini contest starts at 7pm, not 7:30

 The "special lot" is called the paddock. You may not want to park in there as you won't be running that SUV on the track, and you'll likely end up in a far corner, as you're arriving late. And since it seems important to you to have people see your mom's SUV, you'll probably want to park it outside the paddock near the NICOfest tent. But please go ahead and ignore my advice as you always do.
