And you know whats as bad as all these WWII shooters, is the sheer number of times i have heard someone complain about them and talk about how the market is over saturated with them, like they are the only one that notices or is bothered by it.MinisterofDOOM wrote:I haven't picked it up and am not sure I will, however:
I cannot even begin to express how amazingly refreshing it is to see someone move out of the WWII genre.
I am SO DAMN SICK of WWII games it's indescribable. The sheer number of them is ridiculous. No other single specific setting in videogame history has spawned so many copycats.I've not played a WWII game since MoH Allied Assult, because I simply don't have a desire to play a dozen different games in the same setting.
So, kilotons of respect to Infinity Ward for seeing the light, breaking out of the monotony, and bringing some good gameplay into a setting that hasn't been done to death. -1 point for spelling Infiniti wrong, though.
I got your point, and believe me i am excited about this game too. and am glad that they moved away from WWII. I wasnt trying to be mean or anything, just stating what i felt.MinisterofDOOM wrote:Point taken, but I think you missed mine.I was not complaining at all. I was praising.
I was hoping the multiplayer maps would be more like BF as well. I've been playing BF2142 since it came out, so I'm accustomed to that style of map.Red coupe wrote:I picked up the PC version today, aside from having connection problems it seems pretty damn good.
The multiplayer is good but I was hoping it was gonna be more open (BF2 style maps)
it's times like this I dont mind paying $39.99 a year for xbox live ($39.99 when the yearly membership is onsale)Red coupe wrote:Do you have xfire?I was kinda bummed they didn't have a friends option either...
They didn't make CoD3 for PC did they? Mouse and keyboard > xbox joysticks.....its just true, and once you learn that fact you can't really go back....bmike818 wrote:it's times like this I dont mind paying $39.99 a year for xbox live ($39.99 when the yearly membership is onsale)
get your COD 4 @ circuit city- you get COD 3 for free plus a free poster
I don't get too excited over multiplayer games often but this one had be counting the minutes at work all week, I cant even really explain why its so fun because on paper it looks like every tom clancy game ever made.xekushnr wrote:So...I should buy this after AC?
I saw in a review on IGN that it should replace Vegas/Halo3/GoW as the most played game on Live. As a huge fan of Vegas and Gears, that makes the game sound pretty promising.
Pretty much this, i picked cod4 because I hate games where I rail on someone from behind with the default weapon only to have them turn around and kill me with some Muderbeam2000 in one shot, With cod4 the starting m16a2 can be just as deadly as the higher lvl weapons.Red coupe wrote:CoD is fake realism military shooter type....halo is space man lazer gun....What would you rather play?
