The demo was so-so.. Good for a COD game but not quite my thing. I'm a battlefield series man, myself. I have a lot of hours logged on bf2....

I m a battlefield guy to but I think you might be suprised by how good COD4 is.

Side note has anyone gone into pretige mode yet or am I the first on Nico to do so?(BTW pretige mode is after lvl 55. You start back over with a different emblem.)

No prestige mode on the PC because they decided they hate us?

No, for some dumb reason stats are stored locally, so I guess their idea was we could just delete our rank...pretty dumb and people are freaking out....

But I'm a casual gamer and not really into rank/stats...I just want my damn P90 and overkill. Then I can play more hardcore S&D.

I'm only/already at lvl 32 so a bit more to go. The ranks do come quick though (other then in hardcore S&D mode)

I thought this was cool. If you've played through most of the game, you'll appreciate the attention to detail that went into at least one of the maps. These are actual photographs taken in post-Chernobyl Pripyat:

I ****ing hate this game. Single player was great but online just seems broken. For me its like this, spawn, die, spawn, die, accidentally kill a guy, die by his lame drop a nade when you die thing, spawn, be about to kill a guy and match end. I probably just suck at it but I play lots of shooters and I dont think theres a good enough matchmaking system, unlike halo(another game I hate, but the well designed online matching is sort of redeeming). I dont know, I guess I prefer more tactical games over the twitch reflex ones.

Well...yeah it does sound like you just suck at it.

Hardcore mode can put a little more of the tacticalness into is especially if you play S&D where dieing means your round is over.

At that point if your dieing all the time its because your just wandering around out in the open not paying attention to whats around you.

Whenever i get my 360, ill have enough money for two games.

One of them is going to be Forza 2, no doubt.

I dont know which i should get for the other, Halo 3, or COD4.

Ive played COD3 and 1 on PS2 (single player, offline), and i freaking LOVED the game. Its badass. Id love to be able to play it on Xbox Live.

Halo 3, i dont get whats so special about it. Its just like fake lazer alien dudes as opposed to a realistic (kinda) military game. But for some reason, this lazer tag game is FCKING FUN!

I think im probably going to go with COD4 though, i could always get Halo later.

screw halo. get CoD4. it's 10x better than all of call of duty games combined. if you thought any of the other ones were realistic, wait 'til you play this one. and if you don't play online, you don't deserve to call yourself a man.

I got a chance to play this yesterday.

My impressions:I like the maps, granted there is a SMALL map selection(Both in number and actual size of maps), but the layout and general warfare clutter of the map really adds to the experience. I usually play BF2 and 2142, so i'm used to bigger maps that have non-enterable buildings for the most part.

Machine i was playing on couldn't really turn the graphics up very high, but the detail that was there was nice. The snow, raindrops etc.

Also the class thing is pretty cool. Don't have too much to say about this because i only played about 30 minutes and didn't mess with it too much.

I might pick it up, once the price goes down.

I finally hit colonel (lvl 40) and got my P90. That gun is way overpowered IMO. I was slowed down a week after the game came out, so I'm way behind the level curve and was getting totally butt raped by other high levels.

I do have to say that if you land on a map full of level 40+ players and you're still in the 30s, get ready to be pwned. The power disparity is horrendous. I liked BF 2142's power difference. You could still at least function at early level, but the game was more skill based than gun based. I dislike when I get 2 shot sniped by a sub machine gun that would be highly unlikely to pull the same feat off in real life

dang, congrats. can't wait 'til I get the P90. I'm only at level 31, using an m4 carbine/red dot/stopping power/martyrdom combination. I was using the acog scope for a little while, then I realized it adds range but takes away accuracy...... which is pretty much breaking even and accomplishes nothing lol. plus, I don't like how the acog focuses only on whatever it is you're aiming directly at and takes away the view of your other surroundings, kinda like a sniper scope.

How much better is this game than COD3?

I think i just might get that instead (for now) since its half the price, and its gonna be hard enough for me to get just one game.

oh, it's better. I've always been more of a Medal of Honor kinda guy, but I dunno.. I think CoD2 was better than CoD3. and I wasn't trying to pressure you into making you play the game online, I just strongly suggest it. The single player campaign is great as well. Trust me, it'll be more worth it to just save up and get CoD4.

btw, that's a crazy drum setup you've got there. how can you play with the hi-hat so high?

Just bought it yesterday. FFS. This game is amazing. That first Marine mission you play is INCREDIBLE. I almost came in my pants.

Call of Duty is in my opinion one of the best series of games of all time. Unlike many other systems that produce flops down the line, the CoD series has improved on each of its games. When the first CoD came out it was widely regarded as the best war game out. When CoD2 launched, it blew the original out of the water. CoD3 didnt offer as many improvements, but the graphics were better, and the online play was fun. And now they have started from scratch and redesigned the whole series. The graphics are incredible, and gameplay is very fun, its not as linear as any other CoD game. The only gripe I have so far is that there is no stick to cover button, like in GRAW and R6:Vegas. Every mission I have played so far has been very enjoyable. I can't wait to get online and try it out.

Major props to Infinity Ward!

Its not as high as it looks, its just the angle. Also, i had to higher the hi hat to make room for the tamborine, but now that the tamborine isnt there, i have it a little lower.

either way, i dont really play drums anymore. I played all from the end of 5th grade through the begning of 8th grade, then stopped untill the begining of ninth grade, then stopped again half way through ninth, then never played again. Im in 10th now.'

I actually played a couple times recently at a friends, house and im kinda enjoying it, but i dont really have much interest in drums anymore. The only way id start playing again would be if i was in a really good band that played good music.

it actually is kinda high now that i look at it, and its pretty far away as well. It was just really hard to have a good setup with the tamborines being there. Then once i took them off, it kinda happened to be around the time i stopped playing, so i never really bothered to find a new setup

Now my drums have spiderwebs on them. Sweet!

I can't stand using ACOGs in game. They're fun in real life (i've used similar in airsoft simulations), but I've practiced to be able to keep both eyes open with one in a magnifier to help increase my peripheral and get away from tunnel vision.

Hard to do that in a game though.

If I could ever get some kills lined up with my G3, I'll probably get an ACOG on it as it's my designated marksman rifle for my P90 setup. I just can't hit sh1t with the G3's iron sights. I had a similar problem with the P90's iron sights as well. Took forever to get my RDS, but once I did, that really opened that gun up. At least they didn't use the real steel iron sights on the P90 triple rail receiver. Damned things are smaller than pistol iron sights and you really have to get your head down on the gun to use them.

yeah, the acog just wasn't doing it for me. changed up my gun selection the other day: now using an M16/RDS/stopping power/deep impact combination. it's turning out really well, the combo is straight killer. take out enemies with a single burst spray.

but yeah, Call of Duty 5 has just been confirmed to be in production, as well as Guitar Hero IV. go Activision

I m gonna go with you just suck at it. I have a friend just like you and he sucks so that is my answer to you.

And on a side note if you dont like playing the game alot I would go into prestige mode bc you lose all your guns and all you get is a new emblem. I wont be going in for my 3rd time.

Hmm.. I was hoping for a CoD4 expac first, but I'll take Cod5 as well

I never got used to the M16. I've never like 3 round burst. I'm a conservative enough shooter to regulate my burst pattern, but I like having full auto for those "Oh sh1t" moments.

Ditto. When games offer both guns, I usually opt for the M4 carbine. The full auto goes a long way.

I ranked up to 40 with the M4 and red dot. Mixed with Stopping Power and martyrdom (just because I like to piss people off). I used to run with Deep Impact, but I found that I get killed often enough from someone close on my six, that martyrdom will rack up about 7-10 kills a map.

+1 for teammates who don't gaurd the rear

I find it very funny that I prefer the M249 over the M60. The M60 just doesn't have the range and accuracy I like to have for gunner support
