I don't think my trans is shifting. So I unplugged the Rev sensor to default to speedo but it still doesn't shift. I went through most of the auto diagnosis and everything is fine.

I think it may be the TPS. what is voltage at closed and whats it supposed to be at wot? For auto trans not 5spd, supposedly different.

^^Thanks. Its pretty clean so far. Needs some love but a great find for a daily.

Found some fuses missing and replaced them and now my HVAC switches between vents. Next is to get another TPS and a multimeter and see if my car will shift after some messing with. *i think TPS is probably fine.

Also still haven't got the tire repaired. Also need to pick up a radio harness and install that nice unit I got from Broadfield.*wired up now

Also need to do a tie rod boot replacement, so I can pass inspection.*did the tie rod boot and outer end link on drivers side like $40 in parts and hour of time.

So Tomorrow I was planning on messing with the TPS and a multimeter. But as I was leaving work the car started shifting normally for the first time. It still might be the TPS, tho. And I already have the revolution sensor unplugged to revert back to shifting by speedo.

Trans is making noise still and sounded a little rougher than normal, think I should drop the pan and look at the filter?

I might do tie rod boot tomorrow too. I'll try to take pics.

*edit, Car is still shifting off speedo today.

The plan for the Hatch now is piece together a turbo kit and track that slut.

Probably gonna go with a t3/4 .50trim or so.

I like it! Did you drop the transmission pan yet? A fluid flush and filter change aren't very expensive, and could improve things considerably.

Koop Update: Replaced the auto trans rev sensor. Now car shifts properly, and is hella smooth compared to shifting off speedo.
Replaced the broken trans mount with a half broken one.

I got into the Spare KAe. Started by taking off the manifolds and accessories, it had coolant in the oil. Figured HG failure.

Took off oil pan and found a large amount of black plastic chewed up and three large bolts and one small one.
Now I know that it was probably a cheapo timing kit that has the wrong size bolts, and they fell out, dropping the guide. The tensioner bolt also came out but it got beat up. So it was just chillin in the front cover.

Luckily its just a F'd up timing chain cover. I'll go take some pictures after I eat. But the motor looks pretty clean from what I can tell. I can get a rebuild off a NICO member, if I can get some money together which may be a problem pending a house problem involving plumbing. We'll see.

I already bought all the gaskets and a clutch off him. So I may take the pistons out and get a good look before I decide.

Update time, once again.

Its the red Hatching's turn for love. I got a nice car cover but that's small potatoes.
Image

My Friend and NICOmember has brought me his S13. All accessories don't work et cetra. But motor runs and he can't really keep it at the moment. That means a perfectly great running motor to swap directly into my hatch.

Also for the time he brought me his stock pile of parts. So needless to say. I have everything I need to get the hatch moving.

He has a T25 that he wants to rebuild for practice and knowledge. Its too small for my turbo manifold though.

I'll get pics later.

So basic plan at this point. Gently rip out the motor chilling there. Gently rip out Steve's motor and gently place it in my hatch. Wire it up and then wire up trans, bleed clutch and do the necessities. It should start no problem.

This also means, if anyone in the area of Virginia beach needs a Hatch Shell, minus, almost everything. Like if you have a s*** rusted out hatch, you could swap everything to this one deal.

It will be pretty bare, but still rolling.

PM me on the Shell Dibs. However if you live in CT and say dibs, and some guy in Norfolk calls it, guess who wins? I will update the parting out progress but I am shooting for inside two weeks.

Couple shots of either side.

So Yesterday I was going to start this a 2pm. But the lady asks, "Are you hungry?" I said yes, and then waited until after we ate and came back home.

Well, now that its dark out... I guess I''l start. :tisk:

The motor wasn't to fixed in there, so I only had to take off the Harness, PS and AC.
But I can't get the car far enough up the hill(driveway) by myself so I will have to get it out tomorrow.

Standard Lighting Conditions.

the harness could use a mini rebuild. some connectors are shot.

that 3/4" lip is stopping me from getting the motor out and into the garage tonight.

Looks like good progress man, just push the car forward a little bit with another car... use a tire between your bumpers or something.

I swapped the suspension from the shell to my coupe and it looks good, and scrapes more getting in the driveway. I'll get pics tomorrow.

Started swapping the trunk interior pieces into my Red Hatchiling.

Still need to pull the motor but I'll wait for a dry day.

I'm thinking the daily should get the s14 seats. I sat in them, and they are comfy.

Took out the motor. Put the transmission on it. Put it back in all alone. The spindle seemed kinda tight in the pilot bearing, not sure if that is a cause for concern. I'll wire it up and get some gas and see if I can get i going. Feels good to have the 5speed fit perfectly. Not trying to think about wiring up the trans right now.

The shell just sat there today, but Another friend was talking about needing a new rear end. I think I may be able to help him out.

Pics later, I'm tired.

Thanks ya'll. So far I haven't found anything horrible on the coupe but I have noticed some odd stuff. Like the paint on the BMC looks like a small campfire was built to make smores and F up from there to the frame rail. So once I have another running, I guess I could pull the motor and do the engine bay up nice.

Yesterday,I swapped the s14 seats into my coupe, they kick the shizz out s13 seats. Then Tyler came over in his DOHC hatch and we got to tearing down the rear ends and got the donor rear end on his car.

This morning we torqued the subframe to spec. got to work on the rear brakes, he swapped one rear brake because his looked kinda crappy. So this means we have to bleed them. And on the shell too. :/

Put the drive shaft from the shell into my hatch.

Pics later

Swapped the header out in the coupe, now I got tweak the cat to fix the leak. Hopefully it will give me a little room around the steering knuckle.

Installed the rear seat in the hatch. I might start hooking it back up, and take a look in the gas tank to see how crappy that looks.

Still need to grab some fluid for the clutch and gotta bleed that.

Still waiting for the torque wrench to make its way back here.
