Mmmmmm Virginia Country ribs, It was so good, falling of the bone.

I got the itis, but then got back in hammerdin mode and achieved a small victory.

I figured the trick is to fold the lip in a bit and then keep prying, my hand is numb from hammering.

*Today I got up early and took my flywheel to get resurfaced, +1 Cottmann Transmission Across the Street From Chimney Hill, Ocean Air Auto right next door.

Does anyone recommend using blue locktite on the flywheel bolts or is it not necessary after the 100ft/lbs or torque? It'll be fine with 100ft/lbs say the transmission guys.

My friend came over and we got my flywheel installed.

We got it on and all the bolts threaded before I realized the metal gasket wasn't on.

Now to install the clutch. Where do I get bolts to install it if I have none? What size are they? Can I get them at the auto parts store?

You could probably use generic bolts... I can't remember exactly what size they are, but you also might be able to get a set of the bolts from a stealership. Just a thought. That is a good looking flywheel!

Got the clutch on and torqued. Went to the dealer and got new rubber boots for the trans and ordered a new clutch slave cylinder. Hopefully will get trans mounted tuesday when I get my parts.

Trying to get it ready to goto the nissan meet April 18th in VB.

Before you put that transmission back in, check out your clutch fork pivot ball bolt... mine snapped and I was going through slave cylinders like water... and you gotta drop the transmission to fix it.

If its broken or worn, SPLparts sells a stronger one.

I forgot to mention that I tried that as well... trust me, there are methods I tried that just popped into my head so i figured why not.

Including a theory involving a butane torch, and another theory involving dry ice...

If you don't own a dremel, I would VERY VERY highly recommend buying one... It is so worth it in the end... I've used mine countless times on many things... One time i had to switch out my ignition switch... and the screws that hold it on are blank headed screws... no way to unscrew them.

So I used the dremel with a metal-etching sort of drill bit and enscribed a slot on each screw. Voila!

Dremels are extremely versatile and small enough to fit in tight spots, while still packing plenty of rotary tool power to make your job 10x easier and 20x faster.

I endorse them fully.

The chisle and hammer idea, which, though it may eventually work, will make you more frustrated, possibly busted knuckles, maybe some pain to your fingernails, and tons more cursing.

Im not sure how much they cost but they are certainly under $100... an investment that pays for itself... when you consider time is money, you'll be saving both.

..plus you get to feel like a dentist. ahahahah
Got a trick, never got to use it. I was told if you have a grease gun, you can fill the pilot bearing hole with grease. Then take a 12mm(I belive) socket, and put the extention in the socket backwards. Put it in the hole, and smash it with a b.f.h. It should, in theary, push the bearing out from behind. Good luck, and if someone tries this, please let me know how it works.

I got a new slave and the rubber boots for the trans. pics soon.

I got a timing kit with an interesting adjustable gear.

Started on the nose again.

I am also going to try and redo a stock s13 seat to have better bolster and be more comfy. More updates as I learn to sew and cut foam.

I suck at owning a 240sx.

Well, now I am ready to put it together when I get my tools back later.

Also picked up another KA24e for $50 not to long ago, but it has a blown HG.

I have a z24 from my 720, so I am gonna compare heads soon.

I figure the trans won't go on because I ruined the pilot bearing putting it in, now I need a new one and then try again.

Just got my sweet coupe home. Pics up when there light tomorrow.

The exhaust is a bit large for the application, so this might be one of the first major changes. Noticed the exhaust has no resonator and is loud as hell. Hello BRM exhaust, sorry hatch but you can have the other, will be nice for your turbo I'm planning. So hopefully Monday I can get that on there.

Got a set of same size tires on there, gonna roll se's for a bit.Installed clutch fan and o2 sensor harness repaired.

Looks like I'll need wiper nozzles and a tire.

Also there is no real low end power. Not sure if its the trans or just no back pressurre, hope its not a test pipe in there.

The trunk has a small leak. Need to insure, inspect and improve.

So fkn happy right now tho.

The autos are 5speed right? I have an overdrive button if the OD never gets engaged does that mean I am just topped out in 4th?

Well today I tried to throw the BRM exhaust on. Took off the old can laid it the yard. Grabbed the BRM 2.5 stainless. Mocked it up and it was a bit long for the hangers, so I take off the headers and set them next to my other ones I have and they are different by roughly 1".

Get new headers on, mount exhaust and then my steering rack hits my headers. So I shimmed the mounts up 1cm. Now there is a weird rattle/bad noise.

Shimmed it lower and now it just barely clears, so I'll mess with it later on.

Did and oil change and runs great and sounds sexy with the BRM and no leaks.

There is some noise on slow down a bit above 1000rpm from the trans maybe. kind a weird rattle/grind

Its a 240 man, its supposed to rattle. If it didn't... I'd be worried.
