Hijacker, I had no idea you lived in Hampton haha. I live in Poquoson during the summer. How long have you been in the area?

We just moved into the area in August. We'll be here for a while, but I'll be heading off to Alabama to finish up some air force training in the next handful of months, and then it'll be Tyndall in Tallahassee after that.

Meet Tomorrow in Va. Beach.

My Koop is overheating or else the coolant temp sensor is going retarded and will be replaced soon. I think I am going to pickup a dual core alu radiator and see if that helps, if it does but not enough I will probably do an E- fan and go from there.

My friend might pick up a cheap coupe and build it up soon. The hatch tyler and I built is still going strong and shifting smooth.

See some of you tomorrow. Also survive norfolk is tonight and after that rocky horror.

I just got my Mishimoto Radiator for the coupe. The issue seems to be that the auto trans sends oil through the bottom of the radiator for the purpose of heating the oil in the winter. When I switch the rad out I need to install an oil cooler. I have a toyota oil cooler from steve.

The question is...should I wait til it gets warmer to switch it all out?

Well, I forgot the ball pivot/clutch fork retainer clip in my Red hatch. So my friend Will came over and helped me hoist the motor out with the help of a neighbor (Chris). So the hatch is going to get built seriously now, just back to stock running condition for now.

Then we are building my 720's other motor and going to swap the truck and get it running better.

Then after all the cars run...Rb20det swap the daily.

Edit, I put the Pivot ball retainer clip in and put the trans back on the motor. I need to get a F ton of vacuum tubing for the back of the motor. Its all dry rotted. I might try to clean up all of the stupid egr to make sure it works.

Update on Hatch.

Got it back together with the 5speed with all clips in place. Got driveshaft in. Got exhaust on. New gas and it started and I drove it around the block.

It sat for a day and then wouldnt start. Looked at gas tank and it looked horrible.

Swapped it out for the clean tank from the parts car with new lines.

Now it starts everytime but idles at like 1500-2500 rpm then drops revs after a bit and stumbles and dies if it doesn't cath itself. Maf isn't the issue, pretty sure at this point.

Gonna try cleaning the AICV and then another ECU to see if it helps. Also we put a 5speed Throttle body so TPS should be perfect for the 5speed swap.

Its just annyoing doing a ton of work and then it just doesnt want to work after it worked fine.

i saw you had removed some egr stuff, this may sound dumb but did you reroute the vacuum lines? i did my sohc, removed all egr aiv crap and re routed vaccum lines, ended up with like 2 or 3 lines and thats it, the important one is for the fuel regulator.
i dunno if thatll help but if you didnt itll be somthing to check. mine had a jumpy idle then would die until i did that. but may have just been a crappy hose also, dunno

We put all the egr stuff back with newer vacuum lines. But Ill look at that, thanks pj.

My friend thinks it might have something to do with coolant temp sensor not giving any signal or vacuum.

Yeah, I drove a very short distance with a low air/flat. I'm pretty sure the wheel is fine. :mike

Well we messed with the red Hatchling last night.

I think we are going to have to swap in a different engine harness. It starts but won't stay running, gas it and it will keep going. Unplug MAF and it won't start.

Does something have to be jumpered on one of the AUTO plugs that are on the side of the passenger side fusebox?

I have the two thick cables jumpered so it will start and the key lock is jumpered to release the key.

It has a new fuel tank and pump and gas. Replaced fuel filter with another one, replaced throttle body and TPS with one from a 5speed, and a clean AICV. I am just at a loss for why it won't idle.

Just collect enough parts for an rb20det swap for the daily and tune it for 240+hp and just keep a nice car for as long as I can.

I am gonna order a gasket kit and work on piecing together the rb26dett ITB intake so I can port them as needed.

I do not have alot of disposable income so I am scouring online sources for RB20 part-outs and trying to get this done one a KA budget, however any RB26 part is gonna hurt my wallet. So I am also trying for a stock setup but shooting for a godly daily. and RB20's rev all day and to me that's what I want in a motor.

So I received my Skirts from ED, thanks K. I think they are b-sport duraflex.

Here's the first test fit, just pushed on without anything holding it up other than closed doors.

So far so good. Not sure what to do for the rest of the kit, but I should be busy trying to get these to fit perfect.

Imma first start with mounting front and back to the mounts on the fenders maybe make some supports somehow to the body so that's filled in more and secure maybe filling it with chassis stiffener or some sort of foam core so its not just flapping out like a champ and has nice body form, less air gap. Then go about tapping the body sill and figure out how to make that not look like crap and mount nice. This will be all trial and error, but it shouldn't be too bad.

I am hoping to see you at meet this summer or fall and see that daily in person.

Also an update on the Koop. So its been to Carlisle and back and did great, but sluggish. I think a shift solenoid is starting to FuaD. So debating 5spd swap or just fix the stupid solenoid and install the new filter and pan gasket I have in my garage.

Also I am getting the temp creep/its been running a bit warm. So I have decided that it opens but to late, so I am going to drill 2 1/16th" holes in my stat and see if it helps. if not, new stat that opens lower.

^----SO far the holes work, sitting at half.

I am still considering a 5spd swap though.
