Finally found a clean coupe. Now to sell the daily'd GS-t.

Also when I was checking out the Koop, I was talking about my other cars and mentioned z24's and he said if I bought the car he would throw in a crower cam,(biggest or most aggressive i think he said) So Can't wait to have that as well.

Bout to go leave to get it. I've wanted one so long that I feel like I am about to get my first car.

Woot. I think its not engaging the OD gear and has a hella loud exhaust, but I am so happy to have my Koop.

Don't have the cam yet, but the Koop is so mint.

the guy I bought my Koop from said he has a complete EFI setup for the z24 as well but not out of a 720, so I don't know the specifics. Also got a tip on how to get my 720 back on the road.

It's probably a TBI setup from the z24i in 86.5 thru 89 hardbody trucks. I would rather have a carb than this rig. I already had an 87 HB with z24i (103hp), and if I still had it, I would swap a carb.

The injection parts for the z24i are kind of expensive, enough so to consider otherwise.

If it's a MPFI z20e or z22e setup, that would be better than the z24i's, but these are kind of rare.

I'm not sure if the TBI's ECU can be tuned. It would be cool if it could be, then a carb might not actually be better.

The TBI would be better for off road or extreme angles.

I started the truck with out the pin and spring in the air idle solenoid but it still doesn't idle.

My girl called today and said that we got a notice that it needs inspection or I have to pay a fine. But the truck is in my driveway. why do they care?

I just researched to learn because were are a communistwealth and not a state we have crazy dumb things like police and certain city agents can ticket any vehicle without a valid inspection. Once ticketed they can and do anything to take your vehicle to the city lot where you pay out of the a** to get it back.

They can destroy your fence if you move the car to your back yard. break locks if you chain it to anything. All this for a non-valid inspection.

SO I will ask ya'll for help to see If I can't figure it out with some help today.

So I can start the truck but It won't idle. I remove the pin and spring from the air idle solenoid at the back of the carb but still doesn't idle.

I am gonna get a multimeter and see if its even getting a signal.

If you have any ideas, LMK. I am gonna check fuses today as well incase the fuel pump has a weak fuse. Also need to do fuse check in the Koop.

I could get it whenever. But IDK if spending $200 just to have it on hand if I don't plan on using it is justifiable. If anyone else wants it let me know and I can get you in contact with the guy.

If I ever get out to his dealership I'll ask to see the setup.

Just took a few snaps of the Crower z5551 Camshaft.Casting mark #18

So until I can compare it to the other camshaft, idk what its specs are.

I emailed importtech of the Crower site, still no response. I tried googling but there is almost no result. This could be a some what rare part.

Also like to note that the guy I got it from said it was the most aggressive cam they made. Anyone how to measure the cam shaft?

I don't think I ever heard of that cam. I might have seen it before when I was scouring the internet for naps-z cams, but I don't remember.

I think you measure it with a micrometer. Here's a procedure I found on Google... http://www.tpub.com/content/co...1.htm

To find total lift you multiply lobe height by the rocker ratio. IDK what that is.

Crower emailed me back. He said it was a 15+year old custom cam and so no records of it exist, but if I ship it in He will profile it for me no problem or charge.

I will probably ship it out next week. Big thumbs up to DJ at Crower.

Ahh, life. I still have the cam.

It seems the motor I swapped in also is running on three cylinders. So now I am needing to build a motor for the truck regardless. So Today I hope to get to the head shop and check them out and get my head up there.

z24 head off the original motor. it had a cracked exhaust valve. it was all white and missing a 1/4" chuck of metal.

This is my fist time building or semi build a motor. Should be fun. I will probably take off the front cover and see whats going on. I really should get a cheap cam and document it all.

If all goes smoothly I will build a KA24e for Turbo. That should be more fun.

Got my head back today and it looks great. surprisingly so does the head gasket. So I am gonna attempt to put it back on and get it timed right and torqued correctly. I will hopefully take pictures.

Okay I think monday is the day to button the motor up and get it going right. My friend Slapo is gonna come by and we will figure it with his torque wrench.

I hate when I don't have all the tools to do it right away, I need a lift.
