You own craftsman jack stands, right? How do you like them? Just like any other?

IDRFT, it's cheap, and easy, and really wakes up the inside of your car, and they've got like 1,000,000 different colors to choose from, just make sure you get the inverted 360* LED's and the regular dome tops don't light up as well...

karateboy, i just use regular wal-mart/advance/autozone jack stands, as they work just as good as any $100 set from someone else... it mean, it'd be nice to say "i got 2 jack stands for $100, i'm so baller" but i go for the cheaper alternative that works just as fine..

so i just drove my car home from firestone, surprisingly it only took them about an hour and a half to get my arms and rods all dialed in to my settings... i also had them adjust the rear lower control arms to widen my track, and my instead of the lip of my wheel being flush with the lip of the 1/4 panel, it's now out just a hair more than a 1/4"... so i think, after going a little lower, i'll have my fitment on point...

my alignment specs are -2.5 L/R rear, and -1.5 L/R front, with all other setting OEM (toe, caster etc)... i can definitely feel a difference right off the bat in handling, it's a firmer ride, i can FEEL the engine, transmission work it's self through the gears, and body roll is SERIOUSLY reduced... over all, with the exception of the vibration at idle (no more old rubber bushings to absorb engine vibrations), i'm completely LOVING the set up, it feels great, inspires a ton of driver confidence in the wheel...

well as promised, pics of new set up... starting with my stance...

suspension set up...

RRLRFLFR

oh, and here's the shot of the rear sway bar comparison, it looks to be well over double the size, almost tripple

on a side note, i hit the off ramp on my way home, came it a little hot, felt my tires on their apex, did a feint and hit the gas, and it initiated almost instantly, got a decent slide in around the bank, no serious angle, but fun!! can't wait to get it on the track!!

well guys, got my 4th, and hopefully final alignment... here's the specs... and of course, pics...

Front Caster= 7.5Front Camber= -1.5Front Toe= 0

Rear Camber= -1.25Rear Toe= 0.5

and i maintained the wider track on the RLCAs, but brought them in a bit to eliminate that axle rattle i was having... so far car rides nice and smooth, got a good looking stance, although not retard low, to me, it's spot on... and the handles A LOT better now...

on with the pics....didn't know which a** shot i liked better so I'm posting both....split shot...

that's all!!!

oh, and mid alignment, the manager at Firestone came up and said they would no longer be able to do alignments on my car cause of all the aftermarket parts, and the fact that it takes like 2 hours each time (4th time there in two weeks LOL), and that he would finish this last one, and no more...... i told him that i paid up front for lifetime alignments after telling EVERYONE at the counter that i was getting adjustable suspension, and he said "whoever sold you the alignment, should not have, cause they're not allowed to do that on aftermarket parts"

i was like WTF?

so i told him, "okay, that's cool, then you go get the Lifetime Alignment contract and show me where it states that you're not allowed to do alignments on aftermarket suspension, and i'll just take my FULL REFUND of $170 for paying for a service you don't/can't offer and i'll go to Goodyear"... he went inside, i watched him flip through a bunch of papers, and i never heard from him again..... D Bag...

fun day!!!

well you payed for the alignment and it states no where in the fine print the number of times you can bring your car in correct?

or about after market suspension

not that i saw.... that's prob why when he went inside and was flipping through all the paperwork, he had a frustrated look on his face and never came back out to show me, cause he knew i was right, and he was wrong...

and the point to paying extra for a lifetime alignment, is to be able to get one, whenever you need it.... but they don't bank on guys like me coming in, to fine tune thier set ups ever 3-4 days... they expect the lil old ladys to bring thier car in once every 2 years when it pulls to the left/right...

ummmm

looks like i'm getting another S14...... should be getting it this weekend...

fresh rebuild.. KA20DET LOL... i'll be switching it back to coil packs, and CAS..outside shots, no GTR wheels though, i have to use my SE's off the black car, glad i never sold em...

mods list....

exterior:r32 gtr wheelsclear cornersshorty antenna

interior:very clean interiorgreddy shift knobboost, oil pressure, water temp gauge

suspension:tein s-tech springs

engine/transmission:KAAZ 2-way lsd0 miles on a fully rebuilt redtop sr20det block and headhead has port and polishblock has new bearings, OEM pistons and rodsapexi headgasketarp headstuds12" electric fangreddy intercooler piping and FMICt25 turboapexi TBEintakemegan racing manifoldresurfaced flywheelsact extreme clutch kit (sprung 6 puck)

and it's got a few bad things that need attetion...

the shift fork is off the shaft, so i gotta drop the transmission and get that right.....

it's running pig rich due to what the owner thinks is a CTS

and the harness is fubar... it runs, but like s***....

nothing old BZ82 can't handle....

my options so far are to fix it up, and use it as a drift beater, or fix it up and use it as a low boost "what 240 do i want to drive today", or to fix it up, and flip it...

i wont even tell you guys what I'm getting it for... cause it's so crackhead cheap it'll drive the whole 240 market in the ground....

maryjane, i might need you to tow it home for me on sunday... all gas and food expenses will be covered if i need ya, and you're available...

hey man! this is definitely one of the most helpful build threads on nico! i think i might know the problem to the a/c problem.

i'm guessing when you converted your harness over to fit your s14, when you splice in the dash connector, there were two wires coming from the SR harness (green/yellow stripe). one goes to the a/c and the other you don't need. haven't tried it on mines yet but it could be something you could check out before paying an arm and a leg for a electrical analysis from a shop.

hope this helps some!

iactually have it fully wired now... correctly, the IACV kicks the idle up when i turn the AC, all bustons on the dash work as they should, i have recirc, and vent, all things work as they should, but i'm still not blowing cold for some reason...

but at least all the wiring is situated, and works just like OEM.... now to figure out why it's not blowing cold.....

well, got the new S14 to the house today...pretty much exactly as it looks in the pics, maybe a tad rougher around the edges, but so far, by all out ward appearances, nothing too too serious....

wiring is a mess, completely.... motor needs to be put in order... interior is MINT!!!! on probs with the interior is a lack of a CD player, shift boot, and OEM floor mats...

trunk is bare, yet painted at least... suspension is, well, basically stock with the exception of springs...

but the car has 76k ORIGINAL miles, with a freshly rebuilt/semibuilt Red Top SR20DET..

well, on to the pics.... sorry about the low quality... as it was rainy, and the lighting was bad...

motor's clean as f***, but the wiring.... good god, i'm going to have fun with that...few shots of the interior.... pics don't do it justice, the interior is MINT....Florida Verified mileage...not a bad knob...

so, sitting here, drinking my usual rolling rock beer, going over the pics again, is SERIOUSLY making me consider doing another swap project, basically swap everything on to this car, as the body is in pretty damn good shape, interior is mint, and hell, there's under 77k miles on the car, and ZERO miles on the motor...

we'll see what i end up doing with it.... just figured you guys might want an update!

yeah, another one.... and besides the minor issues, i think it's actually nicer than my black one.... i mean hell, this on had a 100K less miles on the chassis, and ZERO miles on the motor....
