Best friend bought a Type R!

Yes I know, friends don’t let friends buy Honda’s, but he has always waned this car. It’s a very cool car mostly because I don’t have to pay for it! I have never driven a type R so I was pumped to drive it. Everyone is like “O that type R will smoke your 240” but I know my Nissan will eat that car in the city. He may get me on the Highway with his 8500-RPM limiter, but we will see this weekend because we are going to race. I like the way the car drives and handles and shifts But I think my 240 is way better!

Hahaha, you think you are gonna eat the ITR, let alone BEAT him? I love 240s with all my heart, but I know when to say when. I am assuming your 240 isn't heavily modded (looks like you have I/H/E). You are gonna get smoked, period. Unless this kid SUCKS at driving. I'm not trying to be an ***, but let's be serious here.

You know they run 14.7 stock right?

You may get him off the line through 1st, maybe 2nd, but after that I think you're toast, heh.

It’s all good anyways. We have been friends since high school. If his car beats mine then I’m ok with that. Ill just barrow it! I have been beat before. My car will break 14’s but barley.

i have confidence in you technoman. i think it will be close, but then you have to think, your modded, and hes not...( a guess, since he just bought it)

i like the integra type r's, even though they are fwd.

a stock ITR's vs a stock 240 would be a joke, the ITR would kill it in everything except for drifting... in 0-60, in 0-100, in 1/4 mile, and on the track... if you don't believe the corning ability of them, just check the records of throphy's handed out in GS for SCCA Solo II racing. ITR's been taken them home for multiple years straight.

hate to say it, but itr's are quick. if they were RWD, I'd love to have one. still hope you spank him though, pretty unlikely

Are you serious? Judging by your signiture, a 97? My sisters got a 97.. shiiiit she's ganna beat me? Well hers is auto.. maybe I got a chance but she knows how to drive auto and the few tricks. Only problem is sometimes her transmission will not switch to the next gear.. redlining whatever gear its in stuck at the fuel cutoff.. that's how she got smoked by a saturn which makes me wonder... 240sx's can get smoked by saturns! I got a manual btw.. maybe I'll be neck and neck with saturns.. thats depressing.

Well My 240 is not stock. I have done lots of work to the head including cams. His type R is stock except for a DC sport cat back system it doesn’t even have an intake. But it’s still a type R and it is fast just not until after 6k. My goal is to smoke him off the line and get way in front of him so he just can’t catch up. I’m putting down 149 RW torque at 4,600. A type R I don’t think can even make that much torque.

I have never been beat by a Saturn! I have raced a few and beat all of them.

i dont think anybody really knew what you had done to the engine. Technoman, arent you capable of beating stock sr powered 240's? maybe that was r240na? either way i believe it will be close.

There is a saturn.. I don't remember the model cause I'm not crazy about saturns I'm guessing SC meaning sports coupe.. anyways it does 0-60 in 7.9 and my 240sx is stock.. doing 8.1 (magazines) so I better watch out.

EDIT: Disregard that.. no saturn is that fast.. quickest is like 8.5.. guess thats how fast auto integras are.. I should have no problem taking out my sisters ls then.

I believe r240na said he can kill stock SRs.. but hes 250lbs lighter than stock

EDIT: Realy? 6.4? Didn't asad get 6.7 with only HS headers?

S13 SR20DET's do 0-60 in about 6.2 stock

CA18DET's do 0-60 in 7 stock

I don't think she would mind because she wants a manual.. anyways after that kind of abuse since day one and 10,000's and 10,000's of miles her transmission is fine, yet she needs to replace her wheel bearing I think. Don't those usually last until 160,000 miles? Shes only got 65,000, no problems just those bearings and usual oilchanges.

the transmission isn't designed for that can of abuse. if she keep "slap shifting" (sough jersey trem) then she's gonna to blow her transmission. i went threw that with my first, needless to say i went threw two trannies b/c of it.

I have a stock 91 240 hatch, down to the stock airbox.

I know you'll get him off the line, but not that badly, as they also have LSD. Remember, that car is about 200lbs lighter than yours, and he should have atleast 200 crank hp.

All I'm saying is don't expect to smoke him.

The car is not beet up at all. It's perfect and a very adult driven car. It's all stock not even a K&N filter. The paint is flawless almost too flawless Championship white 1998 ITR. He paid 16K. Not to bad I guess……….
