you ran a stick with a couple mods against an auto? no wonder you beat him so bad. thats like running a race against a one legged person, nothing to be proud of, unless of course the auto was heavily modded.

my old 240, which is exactly the same except for base with auto against my newer (well not newer but a recently bought one) thats a 5spd se, was slow as ****.

the transmission is a big difference, even with added weight to the se.

Dude, your 240 will get your *** handed to the Type R. You have...um 160 HP and the type R has um, 200 HP. Redlines at 8 and yours is at 7(soemtimes)...If a Type R can get a S14 SR20DET, then your 240 is just a joke to him. Sorry buddy, but hand down on the ITR. I wish you luck, cause that is all you need to win. LOL

Not necassarly, guy around where I live has a Type R and got beat by a escort GT with intake/exhaust/header. I mean got beat, the guy used to admit he lost, then he realized he was saying he lost to a escort. Its alot upto the driver. BTW, that ITR guy bought a nice expensive header/exhaust/intake and wants to race the escort again, LOL. Going after the grocery getter.

If your car can hit 14's then you might have a chance. What part of Orlando are you guys in?

He says he has 160 rwhp and ITRs have about 170 whp but crappy torque figures.

Ive raced a stock SR S13 and ive spanked it :D At the track all he was doing was high 16s and i was doing low 16's I have no idea why he would be doing high 16's other than driver error or swap error.

it dont matter where our limiter is because a 240 (KA...) the horsepower maxes at 4500 rpm and after that it starts to go down...

Actually power maxes out at around ~5500 or so. Torque peak is at 4400 IIRC.

What exactly do yo uthink a type R has? I mean, really!!! S14 factory rated ft/lbs is what? 155ish? The type R has 147ish. 10 lbs difference is not a lot dude. Plus a Type R weights lesser than then S14, not much but you seem to ripping on ITR about it's tq. Not every car is perfect, and I would admid rather owning a ITR than a S14 (U.S spec of course).

Im not ripping on ITR, I still love Honda even though i dont own one anymore. And 147 lb ft? Show me where you got this figure because last time i checked it was 130 lb ft at like 7000 something. So now that 10 lb ft diffrence is now 25. And yes the ITR weighs around 2500 and 240's around 2700 roughly. But crank figures mean crap, I rather know what they put down to the wheels. And a S14 still puts down more torque to the wheels. The only reason the S14 looses is 160 hp vs 195 hp and the weight issue.

Yeah those are the whp figures ive seen around too. And 110 lb ft is crap IMO. I can and will take any Honda around here from a dead start. I used to even with my old civic since it made more torque (oxymoron) than a vtec motor down in the low rpms.

ITR is a superior car. 110lbs ft may be crappy, but its still faster. 162 whp is a lot more than the 135-140whp that the KA makes.

I've seen stock Rs run 14.6s consistantly. There is one kid I know that with simple I/H/E was running consistant 13.8s (although he is a VERY good driver). They are no slouches and will whoop on a KA all day long (and a stock SR too).

Okay, I was little bit exagerated.

ITR - B18C5 200HP @ 8000 RPM19kg-m = 137 lbs/ft of tq (edited: --- @6000 RPM)

Proof? http://b16a.honda-perf.org/history.html

Now, you tell me, 110 lb/ft is what you seen around, give me your proof.

I don't really care now, but a 1.8 litter NA with crappy TQ that runs mid to high 14's stock vs 2.0 turbo at 7 psi RWD, and the ITR can keep up with it, even better, beats it. Tell me, what is your point here? Sorry buddy, but ITR is not another integra that you wanna mess with. Again, hands down to the ITR. Oh, btw, the Integra has about 2700 lbs also, not 2500. Now, imagin an ITR with turbo that is running 7 psi...Honda is not bad, just that there are too many of them, you get sick easy. If you see whole bunch of 240sx running around, wouldn't you get bored as well?

Okay freak...think about it. 200 HP rated at the flywheel vs 160 HP at the flywheel. When it comes to the dyno, do you think that the rated 160 HP will some how magically take over the rated 200 HP? Next time, stick your head out of your a s s first before you talk.

Hey retard, i was clarifying why your numbers were different from there's...

BTW, the ITR has 18.5NM not 19

Stop being ignorant... get your specs right and stop the challenges.... :rolleyes

AznRide-

Technoman's 240 is not stock, so stop talking about stock numbers. yeah the type R makes 200hp, and and about 135-140 lbs/ft at the crank, but about 165-170HP and 110-115lbs/ft at the wheels, . technomans 240 makes probably close to 190HP, and 190lbs/ft at the crank, and about 150HP, and 150bs/ft at the back wheels. so as i see it they are very close.

Technoman, sounds like you have a pretty nice car. I just got my engine done, and i am hoping to have numbers that are about the same as yours. have PP head, JWT cam, JWT ECU, running 9 flat CR, port gasket matched the intake and exhaust. and have exhaust and intake already. so i am hoping it should be fun, just need to funds to finish it all up. I also have a friend with a faster car (99v6 stang) he has about 200HP stock, with about 235 lbs/ft (witch he needs to make up for the cars heavy weight) so I am hopeing to beat him when all done, but it should be close, plus he is adding a LSD, and changing his rear end from 3.4 to 3.7, and getting his ECU retuned. so after he installs them he will most likely beat me tell he hits his gear limited 120 top speed.

But the bottom line is Techno stated himself that he can "just break into 14s", which means a Type-R driven correctly would win...but really, just race him and tell us whats up.

Oh yeah and to the person who beats 240s with an LS....unimpressed, I pounce on midly modded LS's all day long. I hurt one from a stop light to 90 when my car was stock and I had my fat (300+lb) friend in the car, and the other kid had at least and intake and exhaust. LS's are dogs.

i was talking to the other guy, the ls owner, not you technoman. i thought stock sr's got high 13's-mid 14's stock?

i like both cars, but in the end i still pick my 240.
