I don’t claim to be an expert driver when it comes to the track. I have put my car in the 14’s but that’s with me driving. A better driver could maybe hit a lower number.Drag racing my only car at the strip is not that important to me. I just had to put a 5th gear fork in my transmission because I was drag racing on a 39 degree night and my transmission was real cold and I miss a gear slightly and busted 5th gear fork. My car is a late night street car! :ylsuper

Well, if you car is in the 14, it should be a close match. I didn't know techno has mods that bring his car up to 190 HP...lol. I mean stickers don't count, do they? HAHAHA

Ok ok guys, this is my abosulute very first post on this forum. I have been to this site many times to check out what goes on in the world of the nissan owners. My friend (Technoman) gave me a heads up on the site ang makes frequent post here. I thought I would register and post due inpart to the discussion of a recent thread started by Technoman ie "Best friend just bought a Type R" Kinda excited to be reading the responses given by most out there. Seems that alot are in favor of my Type R. I deffinatly want to race him since he has never had the chance to try an ITR and I have never owned a car qualified enought to race a 240. LOL anyway I'm really happy to be the owner of a Championship White ITR. Going from a slightly modded 94 civic ex to a ITR is a huge accomplishment for me! Hope to meet and talk with some of you guys on here and at the Saturday meets on Colonial dr. I'll be the one with the Spec. R dc2! ha ha I really think the race will be close as my friend Technoman said. Should know soon!

ITR - B18C5 200HP @ 8000 RPM19kg-m = 137 lbs/ft of tq (edited: --- @6000 RPM)

Proof? http://b16a.honda-perf.org/history.html

Now, you tell me, 110 lb/ft is what you seen around, give me your proof.

I don't really care now, but a 1.8 litter NA with crappy TQ that runs mid to high 14's stock vs 2.0 turbo at 7 psi RWD, and the ITR can keep up with it, even better, beats it. Tell me, what is your point here? Sorry buddy, but ITR is not another integra that you wanna mess with. Again, hands down to the ITR. Oh, btw, the Integra has about 2700 lbs also, not 2500. Now, imagin an ITR with turbo that is running 7 psi...Honda is not bad, just that there are too many of them, you get sick easy. If you see whole bunch of 240sx running around, wouldn't you get bored as well?

Heres some proof of a US spec ITR dyno chart:http://www.mandsproduction.com...o.jpg

He had 118 lb ft the first run and 120 lb ft the 2nd run but ive seen as low as 110 lb ft.

Weight specs:http://autos.msn.com/vip/speci...c=vipabout 2580 lbs

I love the ITR and would love to have one someday, I came close to buying a new one but I would love a white one instead and its hard finding one unmolested. But now everyone that has a ITR is a race car drive and wont get 14's all the time, same as a SR powered S13 wont get low 15's to high 14's. I saw a SR S13 at the track last week hitting high 16's!! And my friends Stock SR S13 hits mid to high 15's. Its all depends on the driver, ive even seen ITR's hitting mids 15's at the track. Its all in the driver.

Congrats on the CW ITR. I love the car and the color.

I'll be at the meet this Saturday if you show up. I have the only black S13 Coupe with Nismo across the windshield.

Oh yeah and to the person who beats 240s with an LS....unimpressed, I pounce on midly modded LS's all day long. I hurt one from a stop light to 90 when my car was stock and I had my fat (300+lb) friend in the car, and the other kid had at least and intake and exhaust. LS's are dogs.

Stock LS's arent even a challenge to me, some moded ones are but then again im still stock and SOHC ;)

Integra Type-R's are really nice.A couple of my friends own some. Maybe you guys know Rich's Type-R with a JDM front end? He's on the A&J Racing team. All I can say is don't get all "nIsSaN rULes" when it comes to them. Selling them short will just cost you the race, and make you look dumb.

They earn respect for a reason. Just because you dislike Honda, doesn't make them any slower.

Nismo..that's good how you did a search there on the 98 ITR. Not all ITR are the same. If you were smart, you would figure that out. Now, go find a chart for S14 US Spec. Every car is different...because i can say that i've seen a type R dyno at 125 lbs of tq...would you believe me...or would you kept saying that you saw a 115 lb or tq? That is a HUGH difference there dude. Plus, the S14 is a U.S and with mild mods..ohh, a 30HP increase...that sounds like a lot and a little exagereated estimate there buddy. I can say that my ITR has 250 HP with mild bolt ons..I'm sure you would believe me huh?

Let's talk RWD vs RWD US spec - Honda S2000 vs S14 KA...yeeeaaahhh!!!!

I know 100% that all ITR's arent the same thanks to hand built engines;) So some will have more hp and torque on the dyno than others. I would believe 125 lb ft also a dyno would help back that up. 30 hp increase (on a S14) isnt hard to believe either seeing as how the dohc make lots of power when the breath easier.

Im not putting down Honda in any way. Ive owned one for the last 3 years and it had a LS swap for the past year before i wrecked it. Torque is good. My friends 95 GSR runs low 14's with mild head work and B16 LSD transmission, so i know what Honda are capable of and what Nissans are capable of.

it wouldn't be if the S2000 was boosted also.

Also, B16 with LSD transmission is similar to ITR transmission

My point is I would rather have a ITR than the US Spec S14. The video above proved the reason why. What is your point here? I think i would still whoop your a s s in the ITR against your silvia S14...that's 200 HP vs 220 HP and 137 TQ vs 225...

It's true that if you take off the turbo of a silvia sr20det motor...the motor won't be as strong as it was built NA, am I right?

Stock for stock, the ITR will kill a USDM S13 or S14.

stock sr is still boosted, but damn, 12.8? How much boost are you running? To tell you the truth...most importdraggers don't even use B18C5 - lol. Too expensive to replace, since they would need a new one in a couple of few events...45lbs of boost for Tran and Kubo, one is using b18 and the other is b16. All ran low 8's and high 7's...wow.

LOL, the dude is using GSR ecu instead of his TYPE R...weird

Charlie's car is the white civic hatch (charlie lore) he's running Pro All motor class (big dawg)....

big b20 guys (obviously)...but a lot of experience with the jdm honda motors...although they dont take the conservative approach : )

steves car is not a drag car...its a show car, that goes to the track just for fun sometimes...

i couldnt tell you why they use the gsr ecu...but im sure bob or charlie could : )

why did he use the gsr ecu? so he gets the duel vtec engagement? I had a GSR ecu for my b16 and it rocks...it pulled from 4K to 8500 (plus, i had it chipped also and it has no speed rev limiter) I had my stock rpm gauge and the needle would go all the way pass 9K RPM and goes almost to back to the 0...i got scared so i let it go...crazy huh?

iyr's are no joke. One won (<<<wierd, 1 1) the local solo event in these parts, and there was a HEAVILY moddified KAT s13 in his class as well. Well, the itr was modded too, but they do deserve alot more respect than peeps here are giving them.

techno, hurry up and race him PLEASE!!

Apex doesn't the ITR run the quad in 14.7 stock ?

Which means if he's breaking 14's then he would eat the ITR assuming its stock.... :)

But don't you think ITR are over priced? If i have 25K, i would so get a S14, do all the conversions, head and rear taillights, engine swap...bodykit....and i'm sure that would over run an ITR. But then again, i would wake up.

Freak...You lost me after you said Apex....didn't you have your canadian bacon today dawg? Brain...not..functioning...right...need...bbb...bb.becon...:)

Apex stated earlier that the ITR would beat him if he only ran high 13's... which isn't exactly correct because stock itrs run 14.7... so he would actually eat him... well assuming the itr is stock and he doesn't blow a shift....

I just read this post...what the FAWK? YOU think i made up the 19 number? I SHOWED YOU HOW I GOT IT. Plus, 18.5 and 19 is a BIG DIFFERENCE THERE JACKASS.

If you get your facts stragiht, 97-99 do showed to have 18.5 and 00-01 has 19. THERE, happy now? It's not like I only know my 240sx and don't give a crap about any other cars. I hate DSM, but I still think the Mustang GT is a nice power making car, and of course, there are Cobras, and the Salleens. Camaros SS are nice also...They all make over 300HP stock..but I don't go and dis them because my 240sx I think is the best, do I? You really wanna be in my shiat list don't you?

All i want to say is a stock ITR can take a Stock S14. A good driver is what counts. I didn't know Apexi has 13's second 240sx, i thought someone, not sure if it was Apexi, said that his 240sx is stock, even with stock KA with some bolt ons...so I'm assuming that he doesn't have a large number difference to his stock HP rating. Anyhow, if I have the SR in my 240...running stock boost, I would want to race a Type R, but the chance of wining is very slim, but it all depends on the driver anyways.

Here is the story, back in the racing days. My civic EX had its stock motor, and I was good at racing back then. My EX is a coupe, and I have beaten EX's. But when my friend bought his new ITR(97), I raced him. I was hoping for some miracle for my 127 HP civic with 2 digits number for the TQ, would somehow take him. Well, for being a noob in a ITR, he only got me less than 2 cars length at the end. When i went to the track last year, i did run 17's with it and couple months later, he ran 14.8 with it. That was a big improvement for him for not being a noob driver no more...but that was jsut an example of the difference between 2 drivers.

I really want to hear the result about the ITR kid with our 240sx guinie pig...or vise versa.

Let us sing: (you can sing your Canadian anthem song now)

Oh, say, can you seeBy the dawn's early lightWhat so proudly we hailedAt the twilight's last gleaming

And the rockets red glareThe bombs bursting in airGave proof through the nightThat our flag was still there

Oh, say, does that star-spangled banner yet waveO'er the land of the freeAnd the home of the, of the braveeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee

God bless america....

(lol, i just htought of this, this is a battle between 2 japanese cars, does anyone know any japanese anthem?)

No, you misread what I said. Techno said he can barely break into 14s, not 13s. But it will be a close race regardless.

AznRide, using a GS-R ecu on a B16 or B18C5 will not cause "dual" VTEC engagement. This is achieved through a secondary opening in the manifold, letting in more air (I forget what it is really called, maybe butterfly something....damn it). Using a GS-R computer wouldn't be any more beneficial, the only reason it would be used if its chipped, or if the person wants to run a more conservative fuel curve (albeit very slight). But like I H8 UR DSM said, you gotta ask the guy, since he has the definite answer.

Yes, the GSR has dual butterfly intake manifold. I mean dual vtec engagement because at first stage, it would act normal like a SOHC vtec, then when it comes to 7 or 6 thousand RPM, it roars like an eagle in th sky. Like SI Ecu and TypeR, the vtec engages at roughly 5500 RPM. With the GSR, 1st stage of vtec engages at 4000 rpm and 2nd engagement is at 6 or 7 K RPM. Also, the ride confort is not the same as the Si's because the Si's kicks hard when the vtec is kicked in so you can actually feel it. My friend with his 96 GSR...he did something to it and I don't know what, it kicks in normal at 4K RPM and then the "real" vtec kicks in...it's like he magically shifted because the car jumped like a mofo and I was like WTF was that, tell me that's not vtec. It's weird, but I like to try to type R's though.

I knew it, I was too lazy to re-read the posts and let Freak slies this time. Breaking into 14 meaning that he used to run 15 or higher and now in the high 14. Damn kid.

Freak, we'll bet 240sx virtual money, I bet you $50 that the ITR will win, hoping that he is a good driver.

Tip for ITR driver, launch at 4000 RPM and shift at redline, double clutch (Freak might argues here because he thinks double clutch is sometihng else...anyhow I'm not gonna get in this) if you are a little behind and do it only when you are in 2nd gear or higher. If you are not sure what I mean by double clutching, let me know. It helped me saved .25 of a second off, so I hope it will help you. Some can argue with this, but these are my tips.

I have nothing to do anyways so here I go:Double clutch (my explaination) is when you shift to a gear, let's say 3rd, like a second or 2 later, step on the clutch again and release the clutch when the RPM needles goes to redline...you will get a little jump which will make you go faster, it saved me all the times.

Power shift if you want, but that takes skills and patient but I don't think you have them because in a situation like this, know what you want to do in a race and your plans and imagin yourself at the finishing line. Don't be like Takumi and do crazy shiet and expect to perfect it the first try.

Oh, BTW, anyone that is watching the all star game? I think I'm gonna do that now...unless it's on sunday or something. BBL.

There is no way a itr stock can beat a silvia stock. S14 silvias run 14.2 stock. WTF are you guys talkin bout. A stock integra LS beating a stock 240. You don't have to be a nissan enthusiast to know the 240 would win unless the driver sucks. Me and my best friend raced each other once and i smoked him off the line and left once i hit third gear-his car was a 94 integra ls with venom and a cold air intake and my 97 240 was stock. He never dared to race me again till he got a turbo talon. If any of you ****s knew what you're talkin bout you wouldn't even compare an ITR with a silvia(240 with a swap-same thing onced tuned correctly). Silvia wins on the straightaway and on the turns.
