Yes, the GSR has dual butterfly intake manifold. I mean dual vtec engagement because at first stage, it would act normal like a SOHC vtec, then when it comes to 7 or 6 thousand RPM, it roars like an eagle in th sky. Like SI Ecu and TypeR, the vtec engages at roughly 5500 RPM. With the GSR, 1st stage of vtec engages at 4000 rpm and 2nd engagement is at 6 or 7 K RPM. Also, the ride confort is not the same as the Si's because the Si's kicks hard when the vtec is kicked in so you can actually feel it. My friend with his 96 GSR...he did something to it and I don't know what, it kicks in normal at 4K RPM and then the "real" vtec kicks in...it's like he magically shifted because the car jumped like a mofo and I was like WTF was that, tell me that's not vtec. It's weird, but I like to try to type R's though.
I knew it, I was too lazy to re-read the posts and let Freak slies this time. Breaking into 14 meaning that he used to run 15 or higher and now in the high 14. Damn kid.
Freak, we'll bet 240sx virtual money, I bet you $50 that the ITR will win, hoping that he is a good driver.
Tip for ITR driver, launch at 4000 RPM and shift at redline, double clutch (Freak might argues here because he thinks double clutch is sometihng else...anyhow I'm not gonna get in this) if you are a little behind and do it only when you are in 2nd gear or higher. If you are not sure what I mean by double clutching, let me know. It helped me saved .25 of a second off, so I hope it will help you. Some can argue with this, but these are my tips.
I have nothing to do anyways so here I go:Double clutch (my explaination) is when you shift to a gear, let's say 3rd, like a second or 2 later, step on the clutch again and release the clutch when the RPM needles goes to redline...you will get a little jump which will make you go faster, it saved me all the times.
Power shift if you want, but that takes skills and patient but I don't think you have them because in a situation like this, know what you want to do in a race and your plans and imagin yourself at the finishing line. Don't be like Takumi and do crazy shiet and expect to perfect it the first try.
Oh, BTW, anyone that is watching the all star game? I think I'm gonna do that now...unless it's on sunday or something. BBL.
