I promise to do a full write-up with pics. As for prepping your dash, Don't worry bout' existing cracks, they won't be an issue with the new overlay.shrapnail wrote:A full write up with pics would certainly be nice
Being that this is an overlay keep in mind your stuff is going to keep cracking, and it's hard to say what that will do to the overlay itself.
So even doing this it would still be smart to drill out the "tips" of the cracks w/ a very very very small drill bit (rounding out the edge of the crack will help prevent it from spreading). It's an old trick and wont make the situation look any better, but it will help it from getting worse.
Let me help you with this:redtop91 wrote:
I dont wan't to sound like a whiner or the thorn in your side, but I'm quickly getting frustrated with the vague nature of this product. If you have installation instructions post those. That way I can have a definite answer.
My mint dash cracked this week and I'm anxious (Read pissed off). Sawee.AZhitman wrote:Stop freaking out.

ArmorAll is garbage. 303 Protectant and Vinylex are the only good ones I've found. 303 can be bought at boating supply shops, Vinylex at PepBoys.boxcarracer wrote:i have a mint condition Dash....i dont want it to crack what do i do so it wont crack....i searched and found out not to use armor all becuase its bad....the write up never mentioned...what to use....soo anyone got suggestions?
Complete coverage.i2ice4m3 wrote:People who have experience with this product:
Does the Coverlay completely cover the dash or is it partial? If it's partial, wouldn't the cutoff line be very noticeable?
On the website it says "made from thick ABS plastic" - how will this affect the fitment of vents?
Do you think this would be a good option for those looking for a dash color conversion?
Sorry for all the questions, but it's still a big chunk of change to drop. Thanks!
cuz, when you go dorifto, the carpet will fly around!theclub wrote:If you just want to through some **** on top of your dash to hide the cracks, why not spend 30$ on a carpet dash cover like most people.
lmaooo booo, s14's are newer, were old school heregaehrings13 wrote:No love for the s14's cmon, are dashes crack too lol.
Because you'll probably enlarge the existing crack or create new ones from the removal, then create new ones on the reinstall Plus, you save a bunch of timeShinHed wrote:Why not just pull it, and re-vinyl over the top after filling the crack?
Screw that ABS plastic cover! I drive a 240sx, not a 240z
