Whatever yourself! If you actually buy a nice PC it isn't made of plastic.AZ89two4Tsx wrote:Whatever Dave, lol.
I just like Macs because they're nice....to me. They feel nice to use, especially with the aluminum body. There's no cheap plastic feel to it like most PCs.
Can you guess why? I'm sure it had nothing to do with interference from them..AZ89two4Tsx wrote:Also Apple's touch screens far exceeds any other touch screen around. Even phones are just now getting to be on par with the Iphone's touch interface.
Look. You obviously don't get it. I just bought a PC and I didn't have to "tweak" crap to get this thing to run just like I like it. It's easy to understand, and it just "works". It doesn't have any "tweaks" nor did I have to call in a tech team to install the stuff I wanted.AZ89two4Tsx wrote:And as I said earlier, they are user friendly and easy to use. I don't care to tweak with all the options on Windows. I just want to be able to surf the web, upload pictures, and type documents easily. I could care less about Apple's monopoly on their products. More power to them.
No, the reasons you give for Macs being "superior" to you are quite fallable. It's like talking to a 8 year old about why he likes grilled cheese or something.AZ89two4Tsx wrote:It really annoys the hell outta you that I prefers Macs Dave, doesn't it. Just because I like the looks and simplicity. lol
I was to young to really care but IIRC back in the early 90's Toshiba was the laptop to have.Jesda wrote:Toshiba is still recovering from years of building god-awful trash. Some of their newest hardware is decent, but man, there was a good five or six year run of worthless garbage. HP's stepped up to the plate, taking Toshiba's place as the #1 manufacturer of worthless, poorly engineered trash.

A: No. That's not the computer's fault. User. Error. That's the biggest problem with Windows.AZ89two4Tsx wrote:Windows sucks. Toshiba does too. My aunt has one and has oodles of problems.
Would you really take a PC over a mac if they were the same price Dave?
There's still a lot of that to be had. It might not be necessary, but it can still be done. I spend a lot of time editing config and setting files to force games to look and play as good as they should. It's fun...tweaking and trial and error. There are a lot of Windows gamers who do more than just install and play. Most of the time I can't even stand to play games without tweaking at least a few things. There are whole web communities devoted to making games perform like they should with that kind of editing. In fact, if anything, tweaking todays games allows you to achieve more than it ever did in those old days. And not having to run down a list of sound cards to see which one my computer thinks I have even though I really have a Gravis Ultrasound isn't exactly my idea of fun.Jesda wrote:Editing config.sys and autoexec.bat and manually selecting your IRQs and DMAs to run Comanche and Tie Fighter was baller. Now any goober can install a DVD and play WoW until he's a 400lb born-again virgin.
So awesome.Jesda wrote:

So awesome, so far ahead of its time.
Maybe years ago when the most you could do with a gaming console was make a fat plumber and his queer Italian cousin move across your TV.MinisterofDOOM wrote:And games are the whole point of computers.
My fat plumber is 3D now. And his cousin is even more of a joke than ever. (Really, he is. Have you played any of the recent Mario RPG games? Luigi gets picked on more than Nala. They even have him cross dressing.)Jesda wrote:

The Mail client isn't that complicated to setup if you're not an idiot (I'm not talking about you, I'm talking about idiots). And it works fine. Macs arent very "quirky" at all in my experience of having a macbook and a macbook pro, as well as using all the imacs and stuff that guitarist in the band uses. I used to be a hardcore PC user, but when you look at it, it IS easier to deal with a mac, on a user basis at least. I've had my macbook for about a year and a half with no virus protection, and it runs and boots just like the day I got it. You just have to deal with less crap.f1seb wrote:
Yeah you don't know what you're talking about. I work for a big internet provider. And the first thing I can tell you is that mac's are very quirky especially with their MacMail client.
I completely understand. I wish I could relate, however all my relations with them have been peerless. It just seems like one of those crappy situations that you need to sweep under the rug and forget about. I wouldn't let your negative experience with them completely sour your opinions forever though. In a few cases (friends having had to call Apple Care)... Sometimes it just depends on who you speak to. I had a friend call back 2 different times until they got a rep that seemed to genuinely care about their situation (situation being that a major repair was needed JUST after their AppleCare ran out.. first few reps said sorry, can't help... one said wow that sucks, send it in we'll take care of you.)..?zacmil wrote:To the people I seem to have annoyed:Shift_Z:You are exactly the sort of person that I am not referring to. You say that you researched your options and made your decision based on what fits your needs. In regards to my poor experience with Apple, it wasn't something as silly as losing a paper... stuff happens. My complaint is with the company myself. My iPod (5th generation) had a slight problem with the headphone jack and when I tried to get it fixed I learned that Apple was going to charge approximately $150 dollars to fix it. That is stupid. I just dislike that to get anything repaired, you are supposed to send it to Apple. And before anyone gets upset about this comment, I do realize that this is an MP3 player and that getting it repaired would be a little trickier than a computer.
