gotta love apple fan boys.ADDirishboy wrote:Wow. I generally like Apple products, own a MacBook and iPod. But this is just, just..... wow.
My roommates are both jizzing their panties over this. f***ing gheys.
Yea. They have a touch screen keyboard. As for printing... IDK.AZ89two4Tsx wrote:Is there gonna be a way to type up word documents and print them? Kinda like Microsoft office.
If so, that would be the deal breaker. I would definitely want one.
yep, won't be able to play that or run any other flash application.initial_jc wrote:if it doesn't have flash does that mean that i cant play farmville on it?
Pretty productive... other then that whole no keyboard thing.initial_jc wrote:It will have iWork equivalent to Microsoft office, so you could be pretty productive.
The name Ipad is does lend itself to some good jokes.
This isn't innovative, all it is is thinner. There have been windows mobile based tablet pc's for quite some time think YEARS. Apple should have developed a more streamlined version of OS-x aimed at mobile devices that way its customers could utilize the productivity software they already own for their Mac based pc's on this. It should also have usb inputs standard. anyone who's had any experience with a tablet pc knows that typing with the On Screen Keyboard for more than one or two words requires way more effort than it should.SHIFT_Z wrote:It's definitely an innovative product, which I tip my hat for, however... I feel like that it's aimed at too much of a niche / target market (At this moment in time) Throw in a few more things that tech heads AND OR Average Joe's could utilize, and then you're well on your way to having something great.
Maybe thats where the tech development availability will come into play... Get some people out there to write programs to make this thing worth hauling around everywhere.
It wouldn't be terrible for sitting around browsing the internet... I have a tablet that you have to use a pen with, and its nice to browse around with the pen rather then mouse. It would be cool if it had multi touch as well. I could see using something like this thing actually...MinisterofDOOM wrote:I've said it before, I'll say it again:
THERE IS NO RULE THAT SAYS MOBILE DEVICES MUST HAVE NEUTERED CAPABILITIES. MacOS runs on Atom. Why isn't this an Atom-powered MacOS device?
I have no need for a giant ipod. What I want is a full-function computer.
I think windows tablets are out of that price range unless you go for the fully decked out model though...MinisterofDOOM wrote:Exactly. It SEEMS like a good idea until you think about the price and/or the alternatives. There are plenty of windows (real windows, not winmo) tablets out there that support real computing and x86 applications.
YES. I ranted about this recently as well. Drives me nuts.Red coupe wrote:(btw, f*** "apps" as the new buzzword.)
I would disagree. The thing that frustrates me the most about a lot of Mac users is that that they have bought into this idea that by owning an Apple product that means you're one of the cool kids now. That, in my humble opinion, is the reason for all of the Mac pollution on college campuses. While I admit that Apple makes some excellent products (iPod FTW) I get annoyed at how overpriced and overhyped everything is. I also get really annoyed at being expected to pay $150 for a simple repair and I get even more annoyed that because of my DIY job they won't touch it if I ever require a major repairSHIFT_Z wrote:I feel like that it's aimed at too much of a niche / target market (At this moment in time) Throw in a few more things that tech heads AND OR Average Joe's could utilize, and then you're well on your way to having something great.
You'll be able to plug in at external keyboard, and theres an on screen keyboard as well. As far as printing goes, Theres an APP for That.AZ89two4Tsx wrote:Is there gonna be a way to type up word documents and print them? Kinda like Microsoft office.
