Yeah, I figured it wasn't really worth completely writing them off for that one incident. I mean, the iPod was purchased in 2006... something was bound to go wrong. The biggest reason that I hassle the Apple fanbois around here is because it's just so hard to get any repairs done. The closest two Apple stores are about 2-2.5 hours away and there's like one place a little closer that is liscensed to service them. Pretty much your only option is to send it in, which (I assume) can take a little while. Like I keep saying, Apple makes some excellent products I just don't think it's the best choice for a lot of the people that buy them.SHIFT_Z wrote:
I completely understand. I wish I could relate, however all my relations with them have been peerless. It just seems like one of those crappy situations that you need to sweep under the rug and forget about. I wouldn't let your negative experience with them completely sour your opinions forever though. In a few cases (friends having had to call Apple Care)... Sometimes it just depends on who you speak to. I had a friend call back 2 different times until they got a rep that seemed to genuinely care about their situation (situation being that a major repair was needed JUST after their AppleCare ran out.. first few reps said sorry, can't help... one said wow that sucks, send it in we'll take care of you.)..?
I had actually considered buying an Archos 5 if I accidentally killed my iPod. From what I've read, it seems like one of those things that you love or hate. From what I gathered, they really nickel and dime you before you can use all of it's features. But I did get a chance to play with one in my local best buy and I've gotta say I was a little impressed. It wasn't quite on par with something like -sigh- the iPod touch/iPhone but I thought that, overall, it was pretty neat.bloodspread wrote:I would get this over the Ipad any day, the Idea that apple has is not new at all lolhttp://www.archos.com/products...ng=en
That video is funny as hell. Although I'm growing tired of these every time something comes out.sbird1 wrote:http://www.youtube.com/watch?v...lated

Yea but from what I heard, Fujitsu's product is called IPAD and it is used in industrial inventory and Apple's product won't afect sales of the IPAD. So the suit won't do much...MinisterofDOOM wrote:It turns out Fujitsu already owns (and actively uses) the iPad trademark. They're currently talking with their trademark counsel deciding what to do. Maybe the horrible name won't be around much longer...

I know all of this... I don't really try to hate on Macs, I just think it's silly when people drop a stupid amount of money on a Mac when they could get a comparable PC for a lot less money. I also realize that things come down to personal preference and that it's a little silly to argue that one is superior to the other, they both have their pros and their cons. Like I said, Apple makes some excellent products, like the iPod, I just don't think most of what they make is worth the money.
I was being a little sarcastic about the whole commercial thing... I realize that people don't buy a Mac because of a commercial. I was really trying to make a statement about how the average consumer doesn't try to learn anything about what they purchase, they just jump on whatever they perceive to be the bandwagon.
I'm also a little bitter because of a recent experience I had with Apple.
A little parting gift for you all.<br />see more Epic Fails
This technology isn't new and for the most part it is cheaper so if doctors don't use paperless records now, then the iPad won't suddenly convince them other wise.initial_jc wrote:I read they found out there is a slot for the camera, so maybe next year it might be worth it.
I think that this could be a good way for doctors to begin using paperless records
I have to give him credit for that last point. Full-fledged desktop applications can be a pain on netbooks due to the limited resolution and hardware capability. This is why Ubuntu Netbook Remix and other Netbook-specific operating systems are gaining popularity. Their interfaces use large application icons for easy launching and status displays are reduced/combined to increase work space.Razi wrote: HAHAHAHA wtf.

Regardless if you like the Ipad or not, DONT BUY ANYTHING FROM HP!!!!!. They suck. If this laptop I have dies, it will be two that broke that are less than a year old. I baby my computers and out of nowhere the motherboard goes out. wtf?
Anyways, the Ipad is looking better and better. It has an SD card adapter so if I ever need any extra storage, I'll just buy like a 32gb SD card.
One more thing, how would programs like Limewire work on the Ipad? I need a way to get music and $1.29 per song is outrageous. Would I need to use another computer or does the Ipad download software?
