One question: just ahead of the rear wheels there are two patches on the side panels. Is this normal (used for protection from rocks kicking up) or is it there to cover up damage?

Its hardly noticeable - took me 2 days to see it. But its there and looks like some type of tape colored the same as the car. Anyone else have this on their's?

EDIT: BTW, it took me 1 week from order to pick-up since I took the showroom model. I had asked for silver but they were still looking for one 2 days after I gave them a deposit so I said I'd take the black.

I ordered mine late April and it came in yesterday. So, I took delivery of a Couple Black 3.5 SE Premium.

My wife drove it home, so I can take a look at the car while it is on the highway. and it look sharp!

I play around with it. There seems to be a slight hestiation on take-off before the CVT spools up, but the midranage for highway is awesome.

The standard 215/55VR17 looks kinda skinny so I may go shopping for some wider tires. Not too wide, but something to fill out the fender well....maybe 245/40-20's?

Hey everyone,

So, so far my car has about 1200km on it and I've been back to the dealer 3 times. First I noticed there was a some rubber lining that wasn't installed properly where the trunk meets the backseats, so I had that fixed...quite minor actually no biggy. Then yesterday (FRIDAY the 13th!) my dad noticed that there was some oil spillage on the garage floor and out on the driveway..so we checked out my car and lo and behold there was some oil leak coming from the right side of the car (facing the car...battery side)..it had leaked down to the chassis and was dripping everywhere...so I ran off to the dealership right away and they took it in and after an hour told me it was some clamp on a oil line that wasn't not clamped in and was causing the leakage. Both these problems were from factory....go figure since it IS from the first batch. SO then I leave the dealership and I happen to look up where the interior lights are and there is a huge ****ing grease print on my headliner....as you can imagine i FREAKED out and turned around and went back to the dealership to give them an earful of how ****TY their service people are and carelesss......I was pissed OFF...and so they tried their best to get it out...I'd say about 80% is gone but there is a kinda dark spot there so they told me to come back in a week or so anyways so they check up on the oil situation. Also just to let everyone know, there is a RECALL on the 2008 Coupes for a an Air Deflector adjustment. I found out when the service clerk looked up on the system and there was a bulletin posted. They said the part will be in in 2 weeks, I'll be going back for that and they will be detailing my car to get that grease mark out...I also have a minor scuff in the leather which will also be taken care of. I would've went back next week but I won't be here cause im going for OPP training! Can't wait to drive my baby up North to Orillia.....so neways so far those the issues I have had to deal with. Please share your stories!!

Well, my story is with the dealer. I did not get my car from the same dealer my mom got her Altima which is about 30 miles away because the manager wasn't giving me the deal I wanted, but their service is AWSOME, and spotless. Well, the dealer I go my car at is about 5 miles away from my house, it's a small dealer. My salesperson told me to take the car for detailing since it came with a scratch and they couldn't wash it properly the day I got it, I called my salesperson and we agreed on a day to take the car in, I lost a day of work and school and my dad lost a day of work too, I got there and the people there were super irresponsible, the salesperson was not there and the guy that did the detailing either, well I went back on another agreed day and called the salesperson to let him know we were going, we had to wait about an hour just to talk to him, this was in the afternoon, then they took it to the cleaning thing and the people there were super irresponsible too, they said they were going to clean it after one car they had and we waited 3 hours and I go there to check up on them and they were starting to move the car in, then waited another hour. With a dealer like this I don't know what to do, If I have the slightess problem cannot count on them, some dealers really need to appreciate customers and learn punctuality and how treat customers right. So far the car is doing very well it was built in June and I got mine exactly two weeks ago, I haven't used it much and I still have more than half a tank, I have checked if there is anything wrong with anything and I haven't found anything, hopefully it stays that way. Now my mom wants to trade in her 06' sedan for an 07'.

I've been monitoring this forum for a while and finally picked up an azure blue 2.5s coupe last Thursday. It came with the convenience package and the moon roof. Anyways, the only issue I've had so far after taking delivery was an alignment issue. That was easily fixed by the dealer and I was in and out in about an hour. Other than that, I have not noticed any other issues. If I do, I’ll be sure to post them here.

OK, now that some of us have our baby, any tips on washing them?

I have a black one and want to make sure I don't get those fine swirls which are especially noticeable on black. I went out and bought a brand new wash mitt made out of micro-fibre and sheepskin cloth. Now I'm looking for the best material to use for buffing when dry.

Any websites I can look at? Checked here but not much found.

So I finally got my code red 2.5s w/ convenience package and sunroof on Friday the 13th that i ordered a month ago. . I love this car!!!! So many people have been looking at me. When i drove my car home from the dealer this lady in a neighboring car took her camera out and started taking pics of my car on the highway. she yellled out how she loved my car and thought it looked hot..lol...so i wanted to thank you guys for all the information you've posted on this forum. It def helped out alot especially when i read about the wheel locks. So I made sure to ask my dealer to provide that and they did w/o charge all they wanted me to do was fill out a survey and return it back. As soon as I wash my car this weekend i will make sure to take some pics and try to post them up. To everyone who is still waiting for their cars all i have to say is the wait is well worth it. Im def going to enjoy my car and ride around before more of them pop up on the road...lol

When I get the car I've preordered how do I know the dealership won't swap a ringer and how do consumers get reimbursed for these mistakes? From the begining the nearest dealership was thirty mile distance away - it's a challenge because I own two vehicle trade-in. That's one more trip than necessary. The salesman was willing to send a driver for the trade-in , however they suggested I just wait until the new car arrives. I decided it's better to leave the dealership quickly - without the greatest , most cherished Z - before changing my mind. And a friend picked me up and drove all the way back there. For now I'll just wait for the conformation of '08 3.5se winter frost I ordered to come in-then wait a month or two longer. In preparation printed a checklist Nissanusa formatted, purchased a log for fuel consumptiom fuel mileage reevaluation and pen, turtle wax. What are other steps to take when an ordered vehicle is purchased and being looked-over?

The best way to dry your car is not to use a cloth at all, but to use a leaf blowerwith about 230 CFM or thereabouts. Then take a microfiber cloth and lightly get any place that remains with any water. My black srt8 jeep has no swerl marks at all. I would also put a coat of Mothers FX SYNWAX on it. It is not a wax ,but a synthetic polymer that is extremely easy to use. I would bet that you will get lots of notice with the glasslike shine. good luck

It's actually quite simple. Get some dental floss, the one's that have a wax coating. Grab enough string like your going to strangle someone...do it while it's hot outside..if not you might need a blow dryer to soften the sticky adheasive..put the floss behind each plastic letter and wiggle floss left to right ever so gently and you will see the process happening. if the letter fall and there is left over sticky stuff.....don't worry, just peel it slowly and then your done!!! =) you folks are welcome...Just found out today that Tanabe is coming out with lowering springs for the coupe within a month...so look out for them!!!

I also ordered the 2.5S coupe in Azure Blue with convenience package and moonroof. Hopefully I'll have it by the beginning of September. What transmission did you get and what interior color? Also, can you post some pictures?

Thanks.

I got the CVT engine with the charcoal interior. I went with the CVT since I'm usually stuck in traffic commuting to work. I will post some pictures when I get back, I'm still away on business. I've only driven about 150 miles so far, but the I really like the car. The CVT engine is no slouch either, imo. Either way, you will love the car. I got lots of people checking it out on the highway.

Saw my first coupe in my area. I live in the Houston area and I saw my first coupe parked, it was a 2.5S in Azure blue with blond leather. It looked sweet!!! It was also the first time that I saw the Azure blue in person, love it. Can't wait to get mine.

the car got custom ordered by my dealer since it was too much of an odd configuration lol, and since it's for the canadian market, I guess they are taking their time. I read in an article on CanadianDriver that "Nissan anticipates selling 200 to 300 Coupes per year in Canada, as it says the market "is not that big.""http://www.canadiandriver.com/...c.htm

I'm soo gona be the only one in Canada driving a Blue 3.5SE altima coupe with blond leather and 6speed manual transmission with the premo and nav packages. I guess the wait is well worth it

well when i picked up my car i made sure to ask the dealer about the wheel locks and if they provided that. they told me no at first and that i would have to buy them myself. i kept bothering my sales person about how he said he would take care of me b/c i waited so long for the car. so he gave in and told me he would put the wheel loocks on my wheels in return i fill out their customer survey which they would be mailing to my house soon

After a week with my premium-packaged car I have yet to find 2 speakers. There are 3 speaker grills in the front, 2 on the doors, and as far as i can tell 2 in the back. Are there actually 2 speakers under each grill in the back?

By the way, don't know if anyone else has noticed it but when I shut off the engine, it makes a sound similar to jet aircraft engines revving down. Don't know if its really coming from the engine or if its the air-conditioning turning off but its the coolest sound I ever heard coming from a car.
