what would be better, a clip or a motor set. i plan on using an FMIC and custom piping. along with alot of other custom things. i would think the only reason to get a clip is so i can use its gauge cluster.

It would be best to just get a complete engine set and purchase the gauge cluster off ebay or something for like $50. It cost to deliver that much weight and then you're tasked with disposing of the carcas which can be a pain at times (depending on what your neighborhood is like). I personally do not recommend the stock SMIC, but some of our members have to go with what's easiest for budget contraints. The stock SMIC is a heat sink that (IMHO) have cost a lot of people their motors when they turn up the boost. I've personally seen what the temperatures were like at 10psi of boost on a T25 and a SMIC and if people paid attention to my posts, they'd think twice about seriously upgrading and quickly.

sounds good, whats the shipping on a motor set. and would i be able to use my stock cluster for the speedo and then use an aftermarket tach? and don't worry, i have an FMIC sitting in my room that i will be using.

For real people, dont raise the boost on the stock sidemount. I even had a SR one and it sucked. I kinda ran 15 psi and pop went the head gasket and nothing else but thats another story.

If you must run the stock IC, dont push it past stock boost!.

Quote »Better have plenty, Dee[/quote] There's a few of them around here. I even think that one of my high-powered KA friends whould really consider the CA seeing that he's toasted multiple SR20DET engines, have started out with RB20s, and is now whacking KA24s at an alarming rate. I would just retire or try the CA18DET; but that's juts me.
