I've got KTS myself, but I really doubt going Ksport or KTS is a big difference.

Dampening? I'd be surprised if any of the shocks in these entry level coil overs have any consistency in their individual sets let alone in general.

I purchased KTS because I was placing a large order with SPL, it helped negotiate pricing. Secondly, customer service from SPL is something I can count on. Lastly, $150 shock replacement on KTS through SPL.

Quality between K sport, BC, KTS? Probably same. To get really quality coilovers you've gotta spend money.

You guys are riding him for nothing. If KW offered a z32 lower shock mount option on their Variant 3's; it'd be THE BEST bang of the buck coil over setup.

i agree everyone is riding him for nothing..its his car, let him build it the way he wants. if you want him to put Stance or w/e brand coilovers on his car, you should purchase them for him haha.

Yeah, thanks guys, I honestly could care less really... Like I said, I have owned two sets of k sports AND two sets of JICs. Guess what? I like the k-sports better. And guess what else- the JICs blew up and the k-sports didn't! How about that...

But anyway, I agree they aren't the most expensive coilovers, but for the money you cannot beat them. For my needs I have absolutely no worries about how they will perform and hold up. You don't have to buy the most expensive option with everything you modify to have a sick car...

Raiden wrote:Just read your entire post. I usually hang in the vert forum. I just got my 93' 240SX vert at the end of March and while I don't plan on going as far with my car your post has inspired me to get busy. Your car is clean. I can't believe how much you have done. If you ever need any help let me know. I don't live far from you and I work in Ann Arbor.Clint
That is awesome man, i really love the verts a lot... I would love to check it out some time!

Anyway, the car runs, drives, starts with the key, etc. We got it almost all buttoned up on Saturday night, only to find that the BMC was bad. I was able to go up and down the street slowly to make sure the car worked, but not much more. I will install a BMC, my radiator, fans, and hoses this week and be totally good to go!

I took the day off today and detailed the car. My brother took some awesome pics and I will post them later tonight. For now, here is a crappy teaser pic from yesterday:

I think the look and stance of the car should speak for itself... and maybe, just maybe, everyone will forget all about the k-sports

here are said pics...

I still have some work to do. I need to wire the gauges, find a mounting spot for the boost controller and the turbo timer, install a new brake master cylinder (mine is smoked and I can't drive the car on the street quite yet), koyo radiator, flex a lite fans, and samco hoses. It should for sure be ready to go for the Nissan meet this weekend though.

Well I'm glad to hear that bumnah. Mrgreeneyes as you probably know went through hell to get replacement ksports, and in your defense his were version 1, not like version 2 which is used in this build. I rode in them, I've seen them blow, just going by my first hand experience is all. I really hope they work well because it seems Ksport has turned around. Keep the haters posted man! lol

haha I will, I can for sure appreciate your opinion... every forum has their things I guess. The camry and solara people swear by them, probably because we don't have many other options to choose from, but a ton of people have had success with them on that platform, including myself.

The seat is pretty comfy, I like it so far. I am using a nagisa side mount rail with it and it sits pretty low. I had a buddy club side mount before that and I think these are slightly lower. If I take the bottom cousin out I gain another 2" or so of head clearance, so I should have plenty of room for a helmet. I am 6'1" and 150 lbs and I fit in there really nicely. Thanks for the compliments!

Wow car looks great man!

I could have sworn i asked you personally for the FULL wheel and tire specs, but i cant find it anywhere in your thread. I might be blind!

So if you would be so kind as to re post them for me please. Full specs on wheels and full specs on tires. It would be greatly appreciated!

One Love,

Ghasty

for the seat on the rails, it looks like you are using the lowest setting correct? on those rails, can't you adjust the height?

You can adjust the height- I am using the lowest on the rear and the middle on the front.

And Ghast, sorry if I never responded, the wheels are 17x9 +12 all around with 225/45/17 front and 245/40/17 rears. Thanks for the compliments!

Coming soon to my build: Bumnah CF

Getting the car aligned tomorrow after work. Gonna get a lot of the interior panels put back in tonight and hammer a few of the metal lips I missed that are rubbing up front at the moment. I also picked up some OEM side skirts that I wasn't sure about, but I think I am going to get them painted and rock them. Here are some pics with them test fitted, as well as photoshopped black... open to thoughts. I would probably go with type x rear aero as well, wouldn't go with sides only...

They probably wont actually, they try to alternate the colors between cars when parking. That is how Bob did it last year anyway when I had my solara there. But we will both be in the tuner section I'm sure, so I will see you there!

Your car looks really good.

The side skirts as well. OEM is the way to go.

I have sponsorships. I like getting free parts (clutch, flywheel & brakes) Besides is about design. My car is a custom design after all!

The show is not about custom design per say, it is about automotive design. The car doesn't have to have a bunch of body work to be a part of the show. In fact, a lot of the cars there last year were stock body- but they were rare exotics. I wouldn't expect a lot of fan fare for your car there, the general population of this show is not into modified imports, ESPECIALLY not cars that they feel fit into the "drift" scene. Hell, I had someone mutter last year as they walked past my solara that they "hate that drifter crap" and it is FWD Just a heads up for you.
