The leak is right were the header connects to the cat and where the cat connects to the rest of the x haust. I tried using sum muffler weld arond the flanges but that didnt work. I'll try rtv or jb weld.

jbweld may just melt off...rtv where the gasket goes let the one side dry till close to cured, then bolt it back up together.

I'll try that one day this week when i'm not working and see what happens. If not I may just go to a muffler shop and have them reweld a straight pipe and call it a day.

Quick thread jack

Will the s14 megan 4-2-1 headers fit the s13 KA?

A Megan header is a 4-1 header, not a 4-2-1. It will work if you don't care about using the AIV, you will also need a s14 egr tube.

Hey guys I have a Question about my OBX header.

Does this look right. It looks like the 1st cylinder sumthing is wrong cuz of the noticable change it colors comparing it to the other 3.

Here are two pics. Sorry they were taken with my camera phone.

Nope, your header is fine. What you would want to start worrying about is cracking. If there is no cracks your header is fine.

BTW do you like the way the response feels with the 4-2-1 header over the 4-1 header?

4-2-1 feels so much better all around and deff. gives the exhaust a different tone.Between the header and torco it feels like a complete different car. Hopefully once I fix a vaccum link under the intake mani it will run a lil. better.

A lil. off topic but My friend with similiar mods as me minus the flywheel and pulley stayed neck and neck with an rx8 with a header. I have him by 2 cars with torco. I thought that the rx8 was a fast car?

Lol I was really thinking about ka-t. But due to my frame rail being crushed, rust has taken over my car and my front end clanking away. I'm gonna be parting out all the performance stuff asap, selling it with just the flywheel, clutch, and cat back x haust and buying sumthing else but it wont be a 240 for now. After a few months i'll be back with another one though.

I'll be selling-Injen intake($150), either the obx($175) or pacesetter header($140), lightweight crank pulley($140), the afc neo($300), my jim wolf ecu($300), and maybe the light weight flywheel($275). You have over $1000 bucks to spend?

I'm gonna need flywheel & clutch. OBX I would like but don't need I think I'd be able to live with out or would I...Neo might be over kill. regular Safc would be good enoughI have AEM C/I humm what to do

well whats it gonna be then? hate to see people like yourself go man....

you will be back.

anyways, on a fairly rich tune at 6psi of boost, I'm getting 24~26mpg city big vin check that, with your ka~t hating arse ,its not the 34ish n/a but I can deal with it, 2gallons(exactly I ran the ***** out the other day) I managed to get 52miles. still enough to get to the store and fill her up, yeah it was on a light load but alot of wot pulls in said range, includes an evo that was fooled. just a heads up...

well 93hatch tighten up and get another better 240.

i want ka-t as well, but right now im na and running the greddy 4-1 header. if the 4-2-1 which i know is superior over 4-1 for 240's really is that much of a help I might invest in one until I get the good ole snail spinning. so if you are gettin read of the obx i might get up with you on that if I decide to do that. before you part out tho definately get some time slips especially if u havent already! id be interested in seeing what your working with.

I'll still be on NICO. I'm getting a 00-01 max. Within the next few months I have plans for another hatch. The plans to it are unknown as of yet but just a 11sex. timeslip is wanted. But i'll see what happens. I will be posting a F/S thread within the next 2 weeks. I'll put the link in here for you when its done.A lil. off topic but a newer Lincoln LS V8 couldnt get past me at all. He started yelling out the window. WTF do you have done. I smerked and kept driving.

lol my boy kris form way back( like 8 years lol) had a lincon or something to that effect, couldnt touch my ss s10(NO not an xtreme~ly ghey), but his friends gts eclipse could walk me but not him(how/why IDK), funniest shyt evar. Granted the clipse was from a roll(making like 12psi lol), and the lincoln was from a light, both on the track talk about three confused doods but that same s10 was killed by the 95/I10 ramp here in jax a few years ago... sad days.

so a new max huh? I think a guy on here has a rear mount t25 on one, search it..... should be a decent ride if not I see a 2forty in the real near future. lol I know a guy selling one with a gtr front for like a grand....plus my finders fee speaking of r/m turbos, I'm thinking about going twin on my ka, one front other in the rear. Stay at the 6ish I'm at now(till get these 370 q45 injectors and 90mm maf hooked up )

what do you mean front and rear? One for the cyl. 1&2/3&4Or tubo after turbo? if so wouldn't that be call "bi-turbo"?

I've had some of those same types of races. Id bet sumone then they would race sum1 that i lose to and murder them. thats where you just stand there confused and laugh. Not much more you can do.There will be no boost or even talks of boost on my new car. I might just throw an intake on it but thats bout it for performance. I also dont like tq. steer. I'm gonna drive it till it dies then when it does ill give it new life lol.

how about a shady shot? I have seen real results on an altima another one of those wow races. Again years ago, man I was a street racer when I was young

wwjd no I mean a turbo up front like it is now(on the exhaust manifold) and one in the rear of the car like where your muffler is,but trash it and put a turbo there. That one needs no ic for sure, IIRC the temps will loose like 200* just traveling to the intake.... dont quote me though..

Haha no shady shot. I'm gonna daily this car. When I get a new 240 in a few months let the real fun begin. While I was doing donuts around a light post my clutch started slipping.. I know why cuz I never fixed the problem when it first started. The 95 motor came off with an auto tragic. When i put my 5 speed transmission on it I never changed the auto pilot bushing since the manual and auto are two different sizes. It was causing clutch chatter and not letting the clutch completely engage and disengage. When i pulled it a few months ago I noticed that the throw out bearing was hitting the pressure plate and the clutch disc was noticabely grazed around. Now i think the grazing went deeper into the clutch disc so thats why it is slipping after very hard driving.

LOL you know it's funny you brought that up about the turbo where the muffler goes. I knew a guy that had and STS turbo kit on his GM putting down 600 HP +. and I've seen GTO's with them as well. I wanted to fab on up so cop's cant see it if they ask me to pop my hood. I think the lag would be huge though I dunno

93hatch, I have a 90 240 ka24e pulled from an auto in my 5 speed and am experiencing similar clutch chatter. I never replaced the pilot bushing either. Do you think that I might be having the same problem as you were even though different years. I believe the engine I have now is from a 90 as well. Thanks
